CCleaner? :crash:

One of the many sources of aggro and frustration at the beginning of the year. Huge personal loses at work, and can you few remaining please pick up the departeds work load as well as new projects. Daughter doing exams and projects for varcity and needing the computer/room. Spend hours putting the guide together when time was available, only for a day or two later to find links, masterlists for LOOT etc awol and having to start fresh. Any way found the problem from a post on the MO2 dev bug page and was CCleaner setting under advanced, messing with the virtual filing system, which Lexy kindly added to the guides prereq page. Having only just put together a new play through from Darth's guide, i chose to concentrate on starting and finishing it, so at least i know i have played Skyrim to the bitter end......really amazed at how stable the game was, given the known problems with game engine limitations etc....LARGELY due to Darth, Lexy and Nozzers work in the guide and crash fix....MANY MANY THANKS TO THEM FOR IT

Thanks for the pointer the prerequisites, berndaroy. I remember one of the options in CCleaner bricked Mod Organizer 2, but I couldn't remember specifically which option did that. Event logs... Hopefully if I forgot it again I'll remember it's clearly documented here in the prerequisites page.

I followed the guide and used Verdant instead. It works fine and the grass is great.

But I get comic style graphics for the distance, especially for trees (see screenshot).

Any ideas where that could be stemming from? Or is that what it's suppsed to look like?

Everything in that shot looks like a comic style. Any ENB installed or leftover ENB files?

I tested The Great City Of Morthal but instantly pulled it as my FPS tanked from 59 to somewhere in the low 30's and that was even before running xLODGEN and DynDOLOD.

We think it is cos the mod author instead of deleting unwanted stuff just buried it and thus was still being loaded into the game.

Berndaroy had issue with the paid for version of CCleaner early on. I use the free version and never had issues.

Additional thought on this - would not xEdit and DynDOLOD cull anything that's not visible and make it playable anyhow?

Only the files that are mentioned in the Prerequisites and the Phoenix ENB from teh guide.

I started completely from scratch.

Next thing to ask, then, is if you have installed the complete guide or are still working your way through? Lighting seems distinctly off as well, and possibly LOD as well. Pic is a little small to show all the detail, but even the close in trees look off to me.

I'm completely throughthe guide, finished all the merges and patches in the end (DynDolod, Lodgen etc.)

I adjusted the brightness, saturation etc. as directed in the guide for the ENB.

Unfortunately you can only upload 500k pics, the original screenshot was mch bigger and more detailed.

So Guys after you done all the guide , did everything work as intended? (i mean obviously it's skyrim and in skyrim nothing works as intended) but i mean the whole setup is almost perfect? like no massive issues or something like that? i just wanted to know because i am afraid of starting following this guide then suddenly after one......two......maybe three years of modding (kidding) all hell breaks loose and i see everything flying everywhere

Hey guys the guide has been updated quite a few things so check the changelog (Still more to come but I am out of time today)

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOoooooooooooooooooo...............!

I don't wanna end my playthrough, but I have OCD about things being out of date. The agonies of choice...

Also, something that popped up on the Nexus today - may be a good candidate for inclusion.

Shadriss hi! AHH the joys of modding, the never ending cycle of updating, changing, modifying, the next bright shiny thing, the must haves, am i missing out on something. I must say it was wonderfully refreshing to just play the last eight or so months...nothing to worry about but the next stage, quest, artifacts etc. Still like you and countless others the journey begins anew lol...time for a tea break :coffee:

Had some crashing trouble today: at exactly 3p.m. the game would crash. I was in Riften and the game would crash inside Drevin's farm, outside, in Riften outdoors, in the Bee and Barb, Mistveil Keep, the Bunk House, Elgrim's Elixirs, the Ratway... Always at 3p.m.

Tried waiting 1h, but the game crashed shortly afterwards. Finally I fast travelled to Shor's Stone. Immediately, as the cell was loaded, a Dragon attacked. Fought it for over 1 game hour and the game hasn't crashed.

So I'm guessing something was messed up with scheduled dragons? This was not the first time this happened as well - if I remember correctly, it was in Falkreath or Riverwood before and I also fast travelled out of there; and got over the crash crysis. What I don't remember is whether or not there was a dragon attack after I moved out.

I have disabled attacks in cities (safe zones).

I'm also runnning Elemental Dragons. It would be nice to know if anyone else experienced something like this, whether or not Elemental Dragons are in the picture, and if there is a fix... I did try to sort things out nicely in xEdit but if this is a script conflict it's beyond my capabilities to determine.
