Thank you Lauren, fixed! :D

Replaced "Roadsigns Redone" with "Weathered Road Signs". It doesn't have mesh edits while still being awesome so add on mods such as Falskaar and Wyrmstooth do not have scrambled signs anymore.

Thanks to GamerPoets YouTube channel for pointing me to it. :D

Just a heads up that "Thieves Guild Requirements - No Auto Quest Start" caused me to start in the initial Alternate Start - LAL prison cell wearing a full set of iron armor.  I also had a CTD after choosing my new life and sleeping in the prison bed on my first try (no CTD on the second attempt).

I have not experienced this... that is... odd. I had it previously with another mod "Stealth Skills Rebalanced" but not TGR.

The iron armor issue is apparently a vanilla artifact set off by any number of mods, its easily dealt with in AS-LAL. Finish character creation best you can, exit race menu, remove any interfering armor, open the console and use showracemenu to complete character creation. Proceed with your alternate start, drop the armor if you feel its a cheat.

The armor is not related to CTD, I (and others) have encountered it numerous times, anniying but not game breaking. Your CTD might be memory related, race menu can be demanding in that regard.

I just wanted to say thanks for putting this guide together. You've clearly put a lot of effort into it and I appreciate that.

I've looked through the mod list and it looks like a really solid combination, so I'm going to give this a go. My computer is a little less powerful than yours (single 670gtx) so hopefully it works fine.

That said there are a few areas where I feel this mod pack may show some weakness. Keep in mind I haven't actually installed and played it yet or looked through the mod list in huge detail, so I could be completely wrong:

  • Perks
  • Combat system / difficulty
  • Balance

In particular I'm wondering how the challenge scales late game especially considering it includes the uncapper mod. Also wondering if this pack addresses the horrible vanilla balance surrounding enchanting, smithing and alchemy. Not to say that's the only horribly balanced thing in vanilla, but it stands out in particular to me.

Perks - There really isn't any overhauls for that currently, though that will change in time.

Combat System / Difficulty / Balance - We have HLE, SiC, OBIS, Immersive Patrols for new more challenging NPCs. Deadly Dragons for dragon combat. Uncapper but set to default settings... so it wont get overpowered. As for Enchanting/Smithing/Alchemy, those will get done with Perks later on. This is still a work in progress but for now its basically a balanced, more challenging vanilla.

It seems we're all waiting for the much desired Perkus Maximus (the SkyRe successor).

Beta testing as already started although I've not yet had time to test PerMa

Thanks @redirishlord, have not come across this one before.  Removing TGR eliminated the iron armor issue, though as you say it's easy enough to just drop the armor in a dark corner and forget about it.  The CTD may indeed be unrelated... I was having some CTDs and freezes that seemed to trace back to the latest version of Ultimate Combat, but perhaps there is another issue with my setup.

Interesting... SSR is one of the half dozen or so mods that I run on top of SR:LE, but I don't have the iron armor bug unless TGR is installed.

The iron armor issue seems to occur with various combinations of mods, there is a thread on it (and SSR and DSR and various other mods possibly being responsible but no particular combination was reliably at fault) somewhere around here. Ultimately it seemed a better fix to just drop or keep the armor instead of savaging your install as it wasn't any particular mod & not an issue that caused instability later on.

As fpr a CTD in AS-LAL after character creation and during insertion into the game proper, if you were able to successfully start after reboot, I would put my money on race menu character creation eating your memory. If you continue to have CTD after that then I'd start looking through your mods for conflicts.

I was using Roadsigns Redone woth HiRes Roadsigns, I assume the Weathered Roadsigns for ETaC is a replacer for both?

I just quit to menu and start again, it usually goes away
