Skyrim Revisited Pre-Release Feedback

Recommended Posts

First off, I'd like to thank all that have went into making this version - it does what most guides don't - actually explain the process.

That said, I'm at a loss with this one.  :D

-----------------

In the aMidianBorn section:

Special Installation: Do not install the following file(s) and/or folder(s):
aMidianborn - Content AddOn:

  • Improved Closefaced Helmets Version folder
  • aMidianBorn_ContentAddon.esp (Instead, use the version found in the Improved Closefaced Helmets version folder.)
  • aMidianBorn_ContentAddOn_Installation directions.txt

Then at the end it says this:

Bash Tagging Required: (Bash Tagging Guide)

  • aMidianBorn_ContentAddon.esp (DELEV, RELEV)

BOSS Masterlist Update Required: (Updating Guide)

  • aMidianBorn_ContentAddon.esp BOTTOM Overrides Late

-------------------------------------

That file doesn't exist in any of the Improved Closefaced Helmet files.

----------------------------

Added:

Ugh, Duh, So Sowwy.   Me no see the extra folder that I wasn't supposed to install.

That part might be slightly confusing. What is meant is that when you open the archive in MO to manual install, there will be a folder named Improved Closefaced Helmets Version. Within that folder is an esp named aMidianBorn_ContentAddon.esp. This is the same filename as the one in the root folder of the archive. So what you do is,

1. Uncheck the esp that is in the root folder of the archive. (i.e. it will not be installed)

2. Go to the Improved Closefaced Helmets Version folder.

3. Drag the esp from that folder to the root folder and make sure it is checked.

4. Uncheck the Improved Closefaced Helmets Version folder.

Hope that helps

Yeah, I get it now - thanks for the help. At the time of installing I simply unchecked it - an then followed the instructions. Didn't even dawn on me till I got to the part of creating the BOSS User Rules. Then, whabaaam, that file wasn't even in the left pane of BUM.

Yeah, I'm a noob at this, but with only one other exception the instructions are spot on.

Nearox, maybe you can help me with the "Better Males" and a couple of other body changers. When it comes to installing "Better Males", I can't get both files that are required to be renamed to the "vampire" files unless I do 2 installs of the mod.   Trying to drag and drop the "Optional" files with the Main files creates a duplicate tree - so I choose to install the Main first, then do another install an Merge the "Optional" files - am I doing this wrong?

Trying to do it the other way (drag and drop) gets me an error prompt in MO.

Hi Neo,

Question abt RBB's BUM sorting...

As per mod's FAQ in description page regarding load order: "After all the mods that have patches/add-ons and before Realistic Water Two and Better Fast Travel - Ships and Carriages."

Doesn't that mean that RBB - New Lands Merge.esp should load before BFT Ships and Carriages.esp, then RBB - Row Boats - Hearthfire Hotfix.esp after RBB - New Lands Merge.esp and finally RBB Long Boats - BFT.esp before RealisticWaterTwo.esp (or after BFT Ships and Carriages.esp)?

Thank you!  ::):

Why do it that complicated? Simply install better males as described, then afterwards go to the mod folder via explorer and make a copy of the two files and rename them there, like you would any other file.

Because you can't install Main and Optional together without MO throwing an error - they have an identical tree structure. You can't drag and drop in MO because you will have two identical trees - parallel to each other, not merged.

Because if you install only Optional (which is plausible since Main and Optional have the exact same tree structure) you will be missing one of the files you need to rename?

Oh, I'm sorry, I probably changed some things after I pm'ed you! I was frantic in trying to get the hotfix out.

It should be something like: RBB - New Lands

BFT

RBB - BFT Patch

When I released it I never even thought about since LOOT is now integrated into MO :/ So the merge before BFT (probably makes it before RWT too), the HF Fix doesn't really matter, top, bottom, same thing, it's just a record xD and the patch after BFT.Any conflicts just tell me! And I hope this helps!

Ah okay then I guess I sort of misunderstood.

Install over two runs, First install the main, then install the optional and select merge. After that then go to the mod folder and manually rename there. At least that is the way I do it and without any hassle. There should not be any overwrite conflicts since the files you need to rename to are unique and now present in the mod.

Hope that clears it up unless I am just too tired and missing something entirely here! :)

Worldspace 0004F838 Block 0, 0 Sub-Block 0, 0 0004F83D Temporary 0008A8B6? There is a minor conflict with ELFX.

Not a conflict, ELFX is just trying to fix the lantern position, which seems to be a bit sunk into the barrel in vanilla and RBB already has it fixed :p
