Skyrim Revisited Pre-Release Feedback

Recommended Posts

Yeah! That would be great!

And maybe you can take a look at the recent WAO - Weather and Ambience Overhaul Megapatch by UnmeiX https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/55705/?

It's not completely compatible with extended weathers from Vividian ENB, YET!

It's not at all compatible with Vividian or ELE.  Lot's of patching for little gain is what I discovered.  You're better off just bringing the SOS edits forward, leaving COT-sounds out (unless you like a constant, never ending stream of crickets and other sounds that are set to a probablilty of 1), and then making a new patch for the soundspaces of sos that conflict with ELE.  It's especially annoying if you use vividian with pure weathers as well, as I do.

Yep. During my last playthrough I've had a great time with kryp's stealth & smithing perk mods combined with egocarib's Enchanting Awakenend, then adding in SPERG, disabling the overlapping skill trees in MCM and then some of enaisaion's mods to top off magic, standing stones and shouts. That said the balance is difficult to find when combining mods. It helps a bit if you can adjust most NPC's difficulty ingame (as with deadly dragons, SIC and now HLE etc.) but perk (-tree) balance is hard to achieve. Neither SkyRe nor SPERG manages to do that either, by the way.

Perks are quite a game changer though for many people, so it is understandable it is not included in SRLE (yet). Curious to test out some of the New Gameplay overhaul pack's combinations soon.

I use a similar merge of perk mods including ACE & SSR, it works great with Deadly Combat (which I find preferable to Duel) and it's got Mighty Magic inside so you know its good.

I really wanted to like Enchanting Awakened, but I found it restrictive to my desired play style and the "nerfing" of item enchants wound up being a dealbreaker for me. Of course that's a matter of personal taste, and I'm looking forward to the next version so I can give it another go.

Well there goes simplicity. I was locking for something elaborated but simple. Guess I was wrong. Write now I'm too newbie to make complex patches.

I'm still having a hard time (but immensely fun) trying to combine STEP Extended + REGS + MMO + VIVIDIAN ENB + other custom choices

I didn't mean to sound so hard on the mod's attempt because it is great IF you only use the mods that it patches (which is quite a few, so it's not like you're leaving too much out).  If you use Vividian, however, or ELE (or ELFX - Enhanced, for that matter) it's a lot of patching and, when I finished it all, I wasn't happy with it (mainly due to cot-sounds which, like I said, doesn't seem to randomly add sounds but instead adds what I could only interpret as a constant stream of sounds.  A constant background of crickets does add to the ambiance and is realistic but it gets really annoying in your game really fast.  Real rain is also annoying with it's HUGE rain drops, even the "thin" version, IMO, and I much prefer RAIN.).

I did keep my SOS-ELE-SRLE edits patch separate so I can easily merge it with coming changes to the srle patch so if Neo is interested in adding SOS I could save him some time and send it to him.  Adding SOS to Vividian isn't that long of a process though I can see me getting sick of it quickly as more and more Vividian updates are released.

The RAIN textures are now part of my load order as they look more 'real' than the REAL RAIN  . Thanks for the tip.

Skyrim Flora Overhaul

Author: Vurt
Version: 1.91 (Regular Edition + Heavy Snowy Pines v0.6 + Dragonborn Addon v0.2)
Special Installation: Do not install the following file(s) and/or folder(s):
Main Files:

  • textures/landscape/trees/treepineforestbranchcompsnowl*.dds (Allow Vividian ENB to overwrite.)
  • textures/landscape/fieldgrass02*.dds (Skyrim Realistic Overhaul is superior.)

Dragonborn Addon:

  • textures/dlc02/landscape/volcanic_ash*.dds (Bugfix - Removes mismatching ash causing roads to look horrible.)

Overrides: Project Reality - Climates of Tamriel, Skyrim Realistic Overhaul
Mod Notes: This mod overhauls the Skyrim landscape with better looking flora.

Looks like vividian ENB is not including tree textures anymore.

Neo, according to the guide right now, you ask us to change the ENBlocal.ini which we made ourselves to enable SMAA if installed.

You also ask us to select the SMAA options when running the installer for Vividian ENB.

However, the guide still says to select everything from the ENB Install Files folder.

Problem here is, there's a ENBLocal created as well. And I'm sure I didn't tick the option in the installer.

Also, comparing the two ENBlocal.ini files, there are some pretty important looking differences.

How should we address this?

That's odd... Vividian shouldn't be including an enblocal unless you select that option in the installer... Will ping Manga about it.In any case, use the SR:LE generated one.

I guess it's pretty much normal because the proxy has to be pre-configured for the smaa.

Hi Neo, I finished installing SR:LE. Great guide. I would like to add some mods that modify perks/combat. I checked out the MMO pack, which gave me some ideas. Just want to know your recommendation. I like Stealth Skill Rebalance and Smithing skill overhaul. Thanks.
