Skyrim Revisited Pre-Release Feedback

That has been answered a page or two ago. Not everyone is convinced by LOOT yet, not the least of which being that it changes the load order randomly it seems without adding more mods - suggesting that it's programming is not settled yet - it may one day be the sorter of choice and that could be soon. Of course in a guide like this specific mods need to overwrite others, I would imagine that a lot of LOOT meta data would need to be edited.

Ran through the new STEP 2.9 and it seemed pretty good, but I guess revisited could be more difficult. I use different setups, so learning both BOSS and LOOT. LOOT is getting much better, but still has growing pains. Didn't remember reading a few pages back, but now that you mention it I thnk I now recall.

Does Soul Gems Differ conflict with SRLE?

I don't believe so, you'd have to check the ESP though.

To all, I am holding off on updating Vividian for a short period as I believe there is a problem with the installer. It didn't install all the files I selected so I've sent a message to Manga about it.

I've recently begun a reinstall of SRLE, and I was struck by the apparent absence of the instruction to always allow MO to extract BSA's that was prevalent in previous revisions. Am I just missing something? Or are BSA extractions still the preferred method for SRLE?

You missed a bit in the Configure MO section...

Select "BSA Extractor" in the left pane.In the right pane, double click the value to the right of "enabled" and select "true".

There are variants for some of them too - have a look and see which you prefer and just grab them. They are just a mesh and texture so no ESP and no conflicts.

I must admit I am unsure about some of the artistic variations he is putting in (Malacath, Winterhold and the first Meridia) but others (Nocturnal in particular) work really well. At least enough folks are asking for vanilla variations.

Neo, will you be adding the other statue mods from AnTiWoMaAgNoT soon?

Most likely... A little on the fence for some of them tho. Malacath in particular but I may end up with it in the end.

Thanks for your reply!

I did see that - and complied. I presume that's what enabled Mod Organizer to offer the prompt for BSA extraction (otherwise, I assume it simply wouldn't ask at all).

There used to be a blurb in on the page that said something like, "The first time a mod containing a BSA is installed, MO will ask whether you wish to extract it. Check 'always do this' and click yes." That instruction appears to no longer be present, and with all the hoopla around whether or not to extract BSA's (especially, apparently, when involving the Unofficial Patches), I wasn't sure whether this represented a change in direction for SRLE - extract them all? Only certain ones that would otherwise require an .esp? Only those specifically denoted further down the list? That sort of thing.

So... I'm guessing we're still extracting them all? Suits me fine either way. I'm much happier letting people who are brighter than I am decide such things! :o)

MO changed how it handled BSA extraction a few releases back and now takes the toggle from the menu.

In other words, with the new settings it will extract all without prompt.
