Skyrim Revisited Pre-Release Feedback

Recommended Posts

Ok, so for example in the guide we're advised not to install the following:

textures/dlc02/landscape/dlc2basaltcolumnsingle*.dds (High Resolution DLC is superior.)
textures/dlc02/landscape/dlc2basaltside*.dds (High Resolution DLC is superior.)
textures/dlc02/landscape/dlc2road01ash01*.dds (High Resolution DLC is superior.)
textures/dlc02/landscape/volcanic_ash_darkcliff_01*.dds (High Resolution DLC is superior.)
textures/dlc02/landscape/volcanic_ash_rocks_01*.dds (Serious HD is superior.)
textures/dlc02/landscape/volcanic_ash_tundra_01*.dds (High Resolution DLC is superior.)
textures/dlc02/landscape/volcanic_ash_tundra_03*.dds (High Resolution DLC is superior.)

for every one of these files we will untick both the .dds and the _n.dds

I have a question about the SKSE ini memory edits.

If I am not exceeding the 512 (I've run it through its paces with the Memory Blocks Log thing) is there any reason I should have DefaultHeapInitialAllocMB=768?

Yes.  SKSE effectively is 256 smaller than it seems using the old way of counting.  The 768 = 512 + 256 and the first 256 is not counted by SKSE (for some reason unkonwn to me but probably very clever).  So 768 for SKSE = 512 for Sheson (and his Memory Block Logs).

Thanks a bunch :)

Yes you should exclude the "Data" folder. It is installed with the "Vididian - Weather - Lighting and Climates of Tamriel Enhancement".

When I am performing these instructions. do I just move that data folder (from the vividian enb) into the "Vididian - Weather - Lighting and Climates of Tamriel Enhancement" folder in my mod organizer/mods directory? Those instructions need to be clarified, for dumb people. Like me.

I think you go to ENB manager and changer and you add the folder Data Files (from Vividian ENB)...

I am a newbie like you to these forums but im learning few things little by little.

Just don't take my words for granted for now... maybe wait for an expert advice.

Ah, thx for the tip Torminater...

So VividianENB/Main files/Data/Texture should end up in main skyrim directory where all the other ENB files are? and i do this through ENB manager and Changer (add file)?

No it should end up in a mod folder in mod organizer so it goes into the Data directory ;)

i.e. it should be /mods/Vividian ENB Data Files/textures...etc

Hey Neo :)

You got me kinda confused now...

so after i install everything and the last step is to install "Vividian - Weather - Lighting and Climates of Tamriel Enhancement" through MO...

What do i do?

Special Installation: After installation, open the ENB preset archive installed earlier and install the files located in the Data Files folder.

Which is the ENB preset archive and how do in access it? i thought it was through the enb manager and changer.

Hi Tarikko,

Let's get things from scratch:

1. "Vividian - Weather - Lighting and Climates of Tamriel Enhancement" part of SR:LE refers to the installation of 2 different "files/mods". The first mod is the "Extended Weathers" optional in Vividian ENB Nexus page ( you run the installer as per SR:LE recommendations) and, the second mod is the "Data" Folder which is located inside the rar archive you have already downloaded from the Main Files section of Vividian ENB Nexus page. This is the "ENB preset archive" Neo is talking about.

2. When u open this "ENB Preset Archive" (Vividian ENB-36067-4-15.rar), and look inside the "Vividian ENB / Main Files" folder you will notice a folder called "Data". This is the one Neo refers to his Special Installation instructions.

3. You can add the contents of this "Data" folder in MO, either inside the folder you have installed "Extended Weathers" (using the merge command and under the name "Vividian - Weather - Lighting and Climates of Tamriel Enhancement"), or as a new mod underneath "Extended Weathers" with a different name (i.e. "Vividian ENB - Data Files"). The choice is yours.

Hope this clarifies a bit your confusion.
