  1. Robin (Dark0ne) just posted that the Nexus will be upgrading their donation system. In the short term, mod authors can add a pop up to their downloads with a donation link. I would not be surprised if at some point an optional auto-donate-on-endorse system is added in the future.
  2. It is 2.9% plus $0.30 USD of the amount you receive. For example, if you are sent $100.00 USD by credit card, the fee would be $3.20 USD ($2.90 + $0.30). This was taken from PayPal's site FAQ.
  3. That was "Art of the Catch" by Chesko. It was pulled, I imagine, because Fore stated FNIS cannot be used for monetized modding. The mod required FNIS to do the animations.
  4. I found this mildly amusing. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=430749163
  5. I have a handsome son and a beautiful wife. I make decent money at a great job where I can make history happen (again). Bonus: I got a raise last month. I have two dogs (Schnauzer puppy and a Pekinese/Terrier mix), a cat (Maine Coon), and three tortoises (Russian). All healthy. My pantry is stocked, my wife can cook, and my belly is full (a little too full... :D). Life is good, for now. I'm sure something will come along, as usual, to screw it up. For now though, I'm enjoying it. :) My only real complaint is lack of time... 9 hours of work + 3 hour commute (total both ways) + family + eating = little time for fun and games.
  6. I recently posted this on all my mod pages in a sticky. Figured this would be a good place to put it as well.
  7. No, do not apply those. In fact that should be disabled as part of MO configuration.
  8. I totally feel Senator Organa at the end of the clip. *hangs head knowing this will doom us all*
  9. I plan to write sticky notes and modify permissions on all of my mods this evening once I get home from work.
  10. Looks like Chesko may have to pull his fishing mod, unless Fore gave him permissions. Just saw this on the FNIS page:
  11. I'm just going to leave this link here: https://www.change.org/p/valve-remove-the-paid-content-of-the-steam-workshop
  12. Well, so far, 74 people have paid for this mod. Can't even believe it's that high. Slippery slope indeed, common rabble will probably just pay.
  13. Chesko at least wrote a letter stating updates to existing mods will hit nexus after 30 days, new mods 90 days. Still not happy about it, but it's something at least.
  14. DMCA Takedown should be enough if they want to go that route, though I doubt they will.
  15. This I can support as it costs nothing to the user's except donations ofc but those are voluntary.
  16. Chilling effects throughout the community already: https://i.imgur.com/Zz2GuR8.png
  17. This too. Far as I've read this will be an unregulated and unsupported venture by Steam and/or Bethesda. The only "recourse" is a 24 hour refund period. I can see a lot of purchase, copy files, refund going on in the near future unless it's encrypted somehow.
  18. I already said it in another thread, I will not buy nor support a paid version of a mod. Free versions only. Donations were cool, forcing to pay is not. I will also no longer help fix or report bugs for said mods even after they are released free as it will support the paid mod indirectly.
  19. The guide will only ever recommend free versions of mods. I will not be updating or providing conflict resolutions for paid mod versions.
  20. Thanks again to you two. Really hope this charging for mods scam falls on its face... really disappointed with the turn of events. Thank god Witcher 3 is right around the corner. I trust CD Projekt not to pull this crap.
  21. I find it funny the open letter has been removed... lol. That being said, this is a dark day in gaming. Wait until the tools we use and take for granted start going paywalled. FNIS, SKSE, xEdit, SkyProc, etc. etc. because people use them to make paid mods. They deserve a cut too no?
  22. It's going to happen, if not now, then in the future in TES VI or Fallout 4. I can see the future where the developers of xEdit and other similar tools need their cut, etc. It's just downhill from here if it isn't nipped in the arse now.
  23. As an FYI, looks like Chesko also has paid mods up now. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=430324898 This one is an "early access" introductory priced one. This does not bode well.
  24. Thanks everyone. :)
