  1. Should be noted that Skyrim Realistic Overhaul (no longer in step but still used by a lot of us, I think?) includes its own ruins and chest textures which will overwrite "detailed chests" and "ruins clutter improvement." Solved this by installing those two mods AFTER SRO. SRO's ruins clutter textures are surprisingly awful.Â
  2. Got it. That sounds good. Thanks.Â
  3. Ok great. So which options are recommended to tweak? Just the crime radius to 100? Are there any others?
  4. Following up here. What exactly does a bashed patch do again? Is it the same as a merged patch? It just tries to fix conflicts?
  5. Well there is currently no official lighting mod guide in STEP (that i'm aware of) so I'm not sure how we can jump ship from CoT to RCRN when it was never stated in the guide that CoT should be used in the first place.Â
  6. Sorry if this was answered before....but how do you get this to work with Climates of Tamriel? The same way you use CoT and RLO together...being just to NOT use the CoT interiors and dungeons esps?
  7. Yea, I imagine it would. I have a 7970 3gb ghz and it runs great. Good luck modding.Â
  8. Ok fair enough. I'll stop disabling Aero then. Sorry, it took me a few tries to understand what you were saying :-X.Â
  9. I have 8 gb of RAM but disabling Aero in Skyrim gave me back 200 mb of VRAM.Â
  10. Why would you skip this mod?
  11. You can't use this with RLO, right? EDIT: You can't. Got it.
  12. I'm pretty new to modding. Skyrim was actually the first game I've ever modded but I'm pretty sure that the description for STEP is 100% clear and I was able to understand it from the getko.. But more clarity is never a bad thing.
  13. I definitely agree. I know that aero reduced VRAM by about 200 mb and since VRAM is mirrored in System RAM apparently, it should definitely be something that everyone should do in addition to their textures/normals reductions.Â
  14. Biggest reductions you should try is installing the 1k versions of the large texture packs (SRO, 2k, SeriousHD). Also, DONT use Vurt's 4k/8k high-res pines optional. That was the mistake I made. Maybe try 2k treesHD instead of 4k. 2k SFO LoDs instead of the 4k default. Also try the HD DLC optimized. I use the hybrid version. Disable windows aero for skyrim too. That takes off a small amount of VRAM (which is mirrored in RAM?)Â
  15. There's nothing noob about DDSopt. I've been lurking these threads for over a year and I still can't understand how the hell to use it.
  16. Should we add a note explaining this in the guide? Â As well as a link to how to resolve it?
  17. Which STEP interface mods should be avoided with SkyUI4.0?
  18. Is enhanced lighting and FX supposed to be used alongside RLO? Can I combine CoT, ELFX, RLO AND ENB? Or is that just overload?
  19. I'm a bit confused what you mean by that. I'm still seeing both BCF files for 1.17 and 1.18 in the notes section on the guide.Â
  20. Looks like one is for a previous version of the mod and the other is for the most recent version. Not sure why the older link is still there.
  21. Damn those are quite the reductions. You should definitely be WAY under the 3.1 gb limit now. Which mods caused freezing for you? And have those mods been confirmed by others to cause freezing as well?
  22. Just wanted to shoot this thread to the top in case any other xtreme steppers wanted to share their solutions :-P.Â
  23. Usually when I see outdoor textures popping in such as landscapes and trees, it means that my game is about to crash due to a RAM limitation :-/. Phazer, once you eliminate all your outdoor RAM crashes, can you make a list of steps and reductions you took to stay below the RAM limit?
