GUIDE Fear and Loathing in New Vegas - Feedback
raycrios replied to EssArrBee's topic in Fear & Loathing in New Vegas
That's turning ENBoost off. The problem here is that no matter how much RAM you got there, for 32 bit process even with LAA (fnv4gb) you are still limited to about 3.5GB. ENBoost is offloading textures to a different process (enbhost.exe) - reducing game process memory consumption. If you have a lot of textures without ENBoost you might start getting CTDs due to out of memory situation for the game process... But gotta try to know for sure. Were you able to use reshade with ENB? Setting it as a proxy library? I've tried with no effect whatsoever... Not sure why. -

CPU utilizing only 1-2 cores is totally fine. It's not that easy to find many CPU heavy tasks that can be run in parallel. Believe me... ENB with effects turned on in fact can be hugely demanding on GPU. Particulary DoF and AO effects. Personally I always turn off DoF because the blur may be fine for screenshots and videos in the actual game it's mainly a distraction and annoyance. AO is great on the other hand but yeah... very demanding. Loosing about 10 fps with AO on - with GTX 970 videocard... -

Body should change the color as well. Do you have both New Vegas Redesigned and Fallout Character Overhaul enabled? FCO esps should all be moved to optionals. Seems will still be visible, but body and face color should match. Also for seems to be hidden you can use mod such as Distributed Necklaces and Chains Neck Seam Concealer (Updated with JIP). I think it's a part of this pack, isn't it? -

Speaking frankly, bashed patch does quite a lot of weird choices. Manual post bashed conflict resolution is definitely needed. -

From NVR3 description-It is STRONGLY recommended to disable any and all .esp files with the words "FCO" in them. Details of this are provided in the sticky and here: Click here for an explanation why I recommend disabling FCO masters and FCO esps with this mod 2. This currently only works with the LATEST version of FCO. Other versions cause missing meshes. -

Could be, but from what I understand NVR3 is built upon FCO with some adjustments. No, it's not camera. It's weapon animations mod. I personally find it very low quality and prefer animations from the Animation Resourses www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/57561/? -
Tried this merge tool and must say it's way better. First of all it's much easier to use, it integrates with MO very well. It will check for errors and it will not merge mods with errors. Finally, it can recompile scripts, fixing references in them, so you can merge mods with scripts.

Guide might need to be updated. According to NVR3 description FCO esps have to be disabled. There are otherwise a lot of conflicting edit. -

I think this is absolutely needed to be included into the guide: JIP Improved Recipe Menu - https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/59638/? -
After hours of numerous tries finally figured out how to get wrapper version of ENB with preset that have proxy libraries to work under Win10. Here's a small guide: 0. Make sure game is installed somewhere outside of Program Files (x86) ! 1. Install ENB wrapper as usual: enbhost.exe and d3d9.dll into the game root. 2. Copy d3d9.dll from the game root to exes folder. 3. Install ENB Preset instead of game root folder into the exes folder (!. 4. Edit ini files (enblocal.ini and enbseries.ini) as described in the guide. 5. Move ini files back to the game root folder. 6. (Not 100% sure if this step is required. If someone can verify without this step please do and let us know) Follow micmou's guide from TTW forums to take ownership over FNV folder: https://taleoftwowastelands.com/content/micmous-guide-fallout-and-windows-10 7. Profit.

AFAIK, it's a replacement for the old script which will be discontinued. Functionally-wise, as I understand, this script might be able to correctly merge plugins with scripts. But didn't test it myself yet.

Found it... https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/35957/?

Might try something like https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/46628/? But I'm pretty sure I've seen a mod for FNV which makes it so environment lighting does makes it either easier or harder to sneak. Just can't remember where I've seen it... Probably googling will help you out there.

A couple weeks ago a Merging tool with much better GUI and ability to fix formids in a plugins with scripts (uses PEX decompiler) was released to public beta. Highly recommended! https://forum.step-project.com/topic/9082-wip-merge-plugins-standalone-public-beta/ Edited: it's not a script, it's a standalone tool. Sorry for missinfo.

Vividian ENB Instructions are horrible.

Go to enblocal.ini (ENB Manager), edit it, change UsePatchSpeedhackWithoutGraphics=false to UsePatchSpeedhackWithoutGraphics=true. And finally press Activate. -
Skyrim Revisited Pre-Release Feedback

LOOT is good for novice users because it will always find a place to put the esp in a way that Skyrim will not CTD upon startup simply because it does analyze masters for each mode and will never put a mod above the master. The bad part about LOOT is that there are no sorting categories: you can only specify that this esp should go after that or set a global priority which is just a number. For the large mod packs LOOT will definitely put by default some mods that they override each other in a way that your game will have a lot of obvious issues (maybe not CTDs, but mods just not working as intended, balance issues etc). I have right now 450 mods, 250 esps (quite a few merged), my conflict resolution patch which is about 800 kBs already and just about 30 simple BOSS rules... When I tried to switch to LOOT I ended up with 43(!) LOOT custom rules and it definitely didn't worth my time to do that.
