Skyrim Revisited Pre-Release Feedback
AmeerHM replied to Neovalen's topic in Skyrim Revisited (retired)
Hi Neo, I found something a little unusual: in the iNeed installation instructions you instruct to install no optional files. However, in the iNeed MCM settings, you instruct to enable Disease Progression (a setting dependent on having dangerous diseases installed, if I remember correctly). Maybe a tiny oversight that my ridiculously meticulous eyes have found?! >:D Also, Hi Hishutup! How's it going? -

You've probably already seen or heard from someone else BUT, Rustic Clothing WIP is currently set to hidden (reason: update). Hopefully I've provided you some assistance for a change. :3 Edit: ._. it's available now... -
As the topic title says: https://imgur.com/bpbYqkc What's up with this? I've only just started installing the landscape and environment mods and, whilst testing, noticed this. Should I be concerned or will conflict resolution take care of it? Please get back to me soon. ._. Edit: I have done an SR:LE install before. It is very likely that this issue has presented itself before but I wasn't there to see it. I mean, who actually plays the game with the the vanilla beginning anymore anyway? :P

Hi! I really am enjoying going through this guide, there is a satisfaction involved with performing a 100% solid modded setup of any bethesda game... It's really addictive. Regarding my issue though, I'm around 150 mods in and after trying to test the game, I've been unable to leave the Alternate Start prison or (if playing without that mod) enter Helgen Keep (during the vanilla intro of the game). There will be no loading screen, just a prompt CTD. TES5Edit isn't telling me of any missing masters or what-have-you and as far as I can tell, I'm not missing any masters. Assuming this is something that's quite common and has been easily remedied in the past (just that the remedy has been lost to the countless threads here, lol), how do I fix this?! It's stagnated my progress through the guide. :( Thanks in advance. Update: Fixed it. I made the mistake of copying the entire directory of Vividian into the ENB manager lol. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Hi, I'm finding your guide really clear and to the point as I go through it now in my free time but, I have come across a small issue. In the Optimizing the Bethesda Textures heading, you state to use the steps under "Vanilla Texture Preparation" on another page that you link to, however, there is no "Vanilla Texture Preparation" heading on that page. Probably a small oversight. Regardless, thanks for your work! -
GUIDE Mythic Dawn: Gateway to Oblivion WIP
AmeerHM replied to hishutup's topic in Oblivion - Mythic Dawn
The guide is very much complete albeit a few minor issues that most of us are aware of, so if you experience anything unusual, post it here and we'll help. In regards to it being updated, Hishutup's on an unofficial hiatus until OR Is updated with ENB support. I've spent 2 months modding this game into playability lol, so I think it I can help with any issues you may experience with an install of THIS guide. -

Same, I wish I could actually add to the guide. I've finally built a stable game after a lot of trial and error. Around 2 months of reinstalling the game with and without different mods and I finally have a game that has crashed zero times and works really well. -

Yo Hishy, I fixed a lot of bad water reflections (yellow, green, blue and black) when Tes4LodGen is run by removing the Graphic Improvement Project from my game. Might be worth adding a note to the guide that the GIP causes these issues. Took me two damn hours to roll back all the texture replacers to find the offending article... So happy it's gone now, though. I hope you're still alive and somewhat interested in this game, lol. -

Don't worry about it, man. I've literally been modding oblivion for a full month and a half now lol and it's one issue that keeps coming up when I've finished the entire guide... This: https://imgur.com/viCb5MV I've asked Alenet from OR and made a post on the Tes4LodGen nexus page but the author has long since replied to any posts. This issue is only prevalent with the files that Tes4LodGen produces and without them, I don't see any multicoloured or black reflections. I don't even know where to begin thinking what this could be. Which kind of file would be responsible for how reflections of structures look? What do you recommend? If I can't get the game running without any blaring faults this time, I'm actually considering just giving up and playing through a different video game. Help me, Hishy! -

Dude did you ever get the chance to test what I described with UL and roads of cyrodiil ? The broken patches with tears everywhere? Edit: dude, please update the ini tweak section to incorporate Oblivion Reloaded 1.6.0's requirements and recommendations. Another edit: I had another question, this time regarding the FCOM installation. I was looking at some other installation guides and pretty much all of them instruct to rename the item bsa file from Francesco's to have "FCOM" at the front of the filename. What is the reasoning behind not doing this? UPDATE: It's probably because the BAIN installer checks to see if FCOM is the installation you're doing, right? I had another issue, though, when with a complete FCOM installation done... I keep running into alive "Dead Captive" NPCs. Like in the Fatback Cave. -

Thank you for that awesome, detailed post, Dennai! :) I had a question regarding the FCOM installation, is there a reason why you don't install OOO's knights of the nine esp file? -

Hishutup, the guide's looking really good, very clear and the pictures you have added really do add some character. Dennai, what would you advise then? Should we hold off installing LtPD and just wait for BC release? -

Looks good man. I have some updates for you too. I think you should make "talk with your hands" an extended mod - very nice addition to the game and it doesn't break anything, just adds to the conversations with NPCs. Maybe also put enhanced economy in there as well, there are patches available for Better Cities. Oblivifall mods are also very nice and polished, maybe add them somewhere? My ini file for talkwithyourhands is pretty A*, so if you want that at some point, I'll upload it for you. I found a really good combat mod, I'm sure you've heard of it as you have his other mods in the guide, Duke Patricks Melee Combat. The guy was an RP swordsman or something, he has a book on medievel martial arts combat, his mod is so comprehensive it has a 7000 word guide he's written for it. Best thing is... You only need to install the mod, no dependencies :D I was doing some testing with RoC, UL and LtPD. The RoC patches are not compatible with UL release 173 - there are some out of place bridges here and there. I'm rolling back to UL 172 and shall give you some updates on that. UPDATE! Rolling back to UL compilation 172 did NOT help, there's still a few out-of-place bridges. I've commented on Arthmoor's mod and hopefully he'll fix the issue; though another user had a similar issue and posted back early this year and hadn't received a reply. Maybe he isn't updating his Oblivion mods now? Also, another tragic identification... TES4LODGEN kinda breaks ROC + LtPD + BC. Water reflections will periodically flash neon green and red, I have a screenshot where I caught it: https://imgur.com/Gvtg2kS - I haven't found a fix for that yet, apart from not running TES4LODGEN or tes4ll; maybe it has something to do with the waters? I'll have to ask the OR creater. UPDATE! This issue is due to enable water reflections of everything in the .ini file; the readme in Oblivion Reloaded has a few "DO NOT DO"s and this is one of them. I think, in the guide, remove that alteration, leave waterreflections=0 on the four you've change to one. This is only a issue if you run tes4ll or TES4LODGEN, though - with vanilla LODs (missing LODs everywhere), you'll be fine. Another UPDATE: I've uninstalled the game again (probably like the eighth time in doing so). I will be doing another installation following the guide again in around a weeks time, so I will let you know how the new additions you undoubtedly churn out ;) are. A few things to note though, I think make a warning on roads of cyrodiil; there are a LOT of tears in the imperial isle and it's a bit unstable too, I have CTD'd in the guard houses they've added, the new patches released for it are not up to date. Please think about adding my mod suggestions :p talk with your hands, enhanced economy and oblivifall are amazing for upping the immersion factor. Regardless, peace out, bruh! -

Turned out it was sound hardware acceleration. :| gotta love it Edit 1: Dude, do you play with deadly reflexes 6? What is your opinion on the mod and what do you think about its stability and wealth of bugs? Lol Edit 2: I had couple suggestions for the combat mods' section of the guide. Perhaps instead of supporting DR6, maybe switch to supporting DR5 as a orange mod and perhaps have a look at vanilla combat enhanced (very new and well-supported mod), it overwrites a few files in FCOM, so it should be installed later. The author also has a magic equilivant (Balanced Magic). Please have a look at this guys mods; I personally find it hard to immerse myself into a TES game where NPCs are dodging like jet li and shield bashing me airborne! This guy has made some great attempts at bringing vanilla combat up to par, almost like some of the skyrim overhauls (ultimate combat and Skyre come to mind). -

Alright, cool - I guess I can bid farewell to ideas of actually playing the game then... Haha. I noticed something earlier today that has been prevalent in all my oblivion installs on the pc, there's a whining buzzing sound that is pretty much always present. Do you have something like this? I'd assume it wouldn't be present with headphones but with 5.1 and 2.1 surround, it sticks about. -

Had a look at the modifications you made to QTP3; the caves defo look a lot more consistent now, good job, dude. I thought I'd install DarkUI, just to have a look at things through your eyes and I noticed this: Loading screens Atmospheric Loading ScreensOpen the "Alternate Loading Screen xml's" folder. Open the "Atmospheric Loading Screens" folder. Copy the "loading_menu.xml" files and paste it in "menus" sub-folder at the root of the project. Select yes to overwrite.Trollf's Themed Replacer - DarkUI VersionOpen the "Alternate Loading Screen xml's" folder. Open the "Trollf's Themed Replacer - DarkUI Version" folder. Copy the "loading_menu.xml" files and paste it in "menus" sub-folder at the root of the project. Select yes to overwrite Isn't the first step (with atmospheric loading screens) redundant if you're just going to overwrite the loading_menu.xml again with trollf's themed replacer? I understand you're meant to paste the loading_menu.xml file of whichever loading screen mod you chose earlier on in the guide, but maybe making that a little clearer would remove some confusing? -

I experienced your illusive bash issues yesterday; bash was making mistakes with its patch because I hadn't restarted it for a while. Would it stand to reason that, the more you stress the application, the more liable of making mistakes it is? Maybe this could be of some consideration when the bash installers folder is like 40gigs unpacked lol? Let's do it anyway though :D yolo -

Yeah, you haven't changed the character improvements section as far as I can tell. The issue I'm having is very subtle and easy to go unnoticed; if you get a chance, please have a look. The anomaly is only occurring with redguards, orcs are fine and dunmer are slightly okay (they still look dodgy). Redguards look sun burnt though. Picture for science: https://imgur.com/V3hS013 -

It. Looks. Amazing. By LOD overwrites, you mean how it removes LODs and replaces them with vanilla LODs? Lol I can see that being a (huge) issue. What are our options, commander? Edit: I had a question - the author writes that it's best to use TMM since, in WB, the file will overwrite vanilla files. Have I just broken my game if I decide to uninstall this mod, or was your genius idea of installing the Data folder as a mod a preventative measure for issues like this?
