I renamed them... everything seems to be OK, but only time will tell. Finally finished the guide, thanks a lot to Lexy, this is really an insane piece of work. I had a similarly modded game with Oblivion, but unlike the people here I had absolutely no idea what I was doing and it was a hot mess. I can't imagine the time and effort gone into creating something like this. I have a question tho: if I want to add a few extra mods to this which parts of the finishing line need to be done again? If they do not overwrite anything from the guide, can they simply be added right at the end of the load order without touching any finishing line steps? Thanks

1) I'm using V1.5.73 of the CK, but I keep getting the following error upon starting it through MO2, is this safe to ignore? https://imgur.com/a/geLsxNv 2) I get ~80 warnings on loading/saving plugins in CK, I keep ignoring them - is this normal? 3) I forget to clear my overwrite folder in MO2 before resaving plugins in CK, is this a problem? Thanks

Falskaar Addons + Patches has been updated to 1.4 which now only uses ESLs and the FOMOD has changed from that in the guide. Can I continue with the guide using the 1.4 ESLs in place of the 1.3 ESPs or are further changes required? https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/19454?tab=files Ignore me, just seen the previous post with the answer: Download 1.4 and you don't need to remove esl flags zMerge will handle them OK. Thanks

Sounds like it would be Deadly Reflex that is causing that - I would check the mod options and readme / instructions for anything about camera and see if you can disable the option. Can't check the mod right now as I'm at work.

GUIDE Mythic Dawn: 2015 Update Discussion & Changelog
Sh0dan replied to SynthetikHD's topic in Oblivion - Mythic Dawn
Check the Better Cities installation to make sure you have all the required and that they all downloaded correctly. I had some issues getting this to install properly and it ended up being my download was corrupt. I had to get it from the Better Cities website. Also check that you have all .ESPs and that they are loaded correctly. Are you getting any message about Better Cities.esp when you load up into a game? It might also be crashing due to it loading so much when you get there, try setting all graphics options to lowest and see if you still crash with/without better cities loaded. I also have 980TI and yes I get low FPS in some areas. Just how the game is, old game on an old engine. Can't really take advantage of latest hardware, especially with so many mods clogging up the engine. In cities the FPS is still bad, but in outdoor areas you should be able to reach 60fps a lot of the time. Just depends where you are what is happening around you -
GUIDE Mythic Dawn: 2015 Update Discussion & Changelog
Sh0dan replied to SynthetikHD's topic in Oblivion - Mythic Dawn
Hi Synth/shutup, I finally got around to going through the guide again and installing almost everything (including FCOM). It took me longer than expected since I upgraded some components in the meantime (980ti and a 40" 4K monitor). I've got everything installed on an SSD and so far it is working well on Windows 10. I haven't seen any major issues. Surprisingly, Oblivion runs at the same frate at 1920x1080 as it does at 3840x2160, which is interesting... Anyway, even on a 980ti Superclocked Edition I get anywhere from a solid 60 out in the open to a miserable 14 around the IC Waterfront area :D The only minor issues I've noticed so far is a lack of response from the AI. However, I remember this from having a modded Oblivion years ago. What I mean is that you approach a bunch of enemies and they just stand there, until you talk to them, then they spring into action and actually combat you. I always thought this either a glitchy script or perhaps the game's engine just being too busy at that time... It doesn't happen everytime, but once or twice. Anyway, I'll post again once I've had some time to actually play in more depth Re: the framerate, just for reference I have an i7 that runs around 4.5ghz -
If you're crashing immediately after launching the game, or extremely early in the main menu loading bar but the game was loading up fine earlier, then you may be able to fix this by a couple of restarts of your PC. If that doesn't work, then try reinstalling the DirectX that came on the Disc or in the Steam Folder depending on your version. I've noticed that, especially on Win10, changing other programs or games on your PC can interfere with Oblivion - one day it's working and the next it's not with no explanation. However, after a restart and reinstall and Oblivion's version of DirectX it should load up again for you. If it still doesn't work, it's likely you've messed up the process somewhere along the line

GUIDE Mythic Dawn: 2015 Update Discussion & Changelog
Sh0dan replied to SynthetikHD's topic in Oblivion - Mythic Dawn
OK, I've just finished installing everything and after a few hiccups, I can get in the game and all looks good. I'll do some more testing when I have time and let you know if I spot any issues. I have almost everything from the guide installed, except any RED mods and about 2-3 orange ones. Some weird issues during installation that I didn't get last time; 1) Wrye Bash wouldn't cooperate unless my INI was NOT set to read-only. It kept wanting access to it whenever I would load up Wrye Bash and would then force me to close it because access to INI was denied. I had to let it do it's thing and then copy my tweaked INI over once I'd finished everything in Bash. Weird... 2) Any mod package with a wizard would throw an error after installation, something about 'Get Parent' - I never had that before, but they seemed to install just fine anyway. 3) After completing installation, Oblivion kept crashing on first menu load bar, at about 2mm of loading. I had to restart and build the bashed patch again. Since this didn't happen last time, I would imagine it maybe related to Win10 since my last installtion was on Win7 (perhaps the above are also related Win10) -
GUIDE Mythic Dawn: 2015 Update Discussion & Changelog
Sh0dan replied to SynthetikHD's topic in Oblivion - Mythic Dawn
Thanks for your time and effort Synthetik (and Hishutup) I'm sure it's appreciated by the silent majority : ) Have you installed everything from the guide on your build? If not, it might be helpful to post which mods you chose to install so we know for sure what 'definitely works'. It would be also be great if you posted your current load order for comparison when people finished the guide, in case they have problems they can compare if they are missing anything etc. Just a couple of minor points; * The 'Contents' section seems to have some weird spacing from the 'Weapons & Armour' section onwards * I also found it strange that 'Book Jackets' retex was put under Weapons & Armour section, shouldn't it be 'Other Retexs' ? I will have a run through the guide again once I get some time and see how it actually changes things out in the game, I'll let you know if I find anything strange once done. Thanks again -
GUIDE Mythic Dawn: 2015 Update Discussion & Changelog
Sh0dan replied to SynthetikHD's topic in Oblivion - Mythic Dawn
Hey Synthetik, Not sure if you're getting the same issue but I see a lot of fish out of water : ) At first I thought it was just a nice touch, there were a few on the beach etc and it looked kinda cool. But then I noticed that they are literally everywhere near every body of water that has fish. The fish seem to come from Alive Waters, not sure if they are all from just this mod or if some are vanilla fish. However I'm not sure what exactly it's conflicting with (could be anything that alters land placement I guess) -
GUIDE Mythic Dawn: 2015 Update Discussion & Changelog

I received an error in Wrye Bash that files were either missing or invalid for these few mods, when I chose to Unpack to Project. Same if I just unpacked the zipped file (if applicable) in WinRAR, it would throw an error. However, the mods still seemed to install and function properly... For example, in AWLS it was throwing an error about a file from Leyawiin, I saw in the latest update to that mod that they'd fixed something missing in Leyawiin... If it will be worth the time, I can try unpacking them again and send you the errors I get for those mods. -

Might be worth mentioning that there were some mods that I couldn't unpack into Projects. Most times this was caused by the download from the Nexus being corrupted, and re-downloading fixed the issue. However, some of the mods wouldn't unpack properly even after 6-7 re-downloads, so I assume it's an issue with the files themselves. Some examples are; AWLSWeapon Improvement Project - Base Install fileNatural Environments -

Bloodlens basically covers the screen/camera in blood when you attack/get hit in combat, it's not very good, tbh... -
GUIDE Mythic Dawn: 2015 Update Discussion & Changelog
Sh0dan replied to SynthetikHD's topic in Oblivion - Mythic Dawn
Yeah, my playthrough is on hold for the moment... mostly using it now for testing and stuff. I still have the guide-build installed and running. I didn't use Enhanced Camera and instead used the "Camera Mode" from OR, but to be honest it's more trouble than it's worth. Especially when combined with something like DR or UVIII... since it uses a third-person camera acting like first-person, it causes issues with animations, doesn't have a first-person crosshair unless you enable crosshair in third-person. Also, it messes with the DoF because OR uses different settings for FP/TP and since you're only ever technically in a third-person camera, the DoF has some strange effects when using fake first-person.... -
GUIDE Mythic Dawn: 2015 Update Discussion & Changelog

I stuck to the guide for all the Ini tweaks I applied. I wasn't sure which were most correct but I assumed the guide tweaks were more relevant for a guide-based installation. BCF = Bain Conversion File. I assume he means to create BAIN installers for mods that don't have them? Such as Qarls -
GUIDE Mythic Dawn: 2015 Update Discussion & Changelog
Sh0dan replied to SynthetikHD's topic in Oblivion - Mythic Dawn
Maybe worth mentioning that on the OR mod page they actually say the following; RECOMMENDED SETTINGS (for the Oblivion.ini) --------------------------------------------------------------------- iPostProcessMillisecondsLoadingQueuedPriority=100 iPostProcessMilliseconds=25 uGridDistantCount=50 uGridDistantTreeRange=30 bUseWaterReflectionsTrees=1 iShadowMapResolution=512 iPreloadSizeLimit=104857600 bUseRefractionShader=0 fJumpAnimDelay=0.2500 fHorseRunGravity=5.0000 iTreeClonesAllowed=10 fLODTreeMipMapLODBias=-0.5000 fLocalTreeMipMapLODBias=0.0000 Not sure if because they actually tested that config or if just because it's a known tweak. -
Hishutup Oblivion Guide - Landscape Holes/Seams/Misalignment
Sh0dan replied to Sh0dan's question in Guide Support & Bug Reports
Yes MenuQue is installed and so is Darnified UI. The DarnUI package was installed along with OBXP. I changed those values in the INI already and it did clear up some screen clutter, but for some reason doesn't affect the popup box. I assumed that would be "messages" but apparently not. I'll try the xml tweak you mentioned and let you know. Thanks -
Hishutup Oblivion Guide - Landscape Holes/Seams/Misalignment
Sh0dan replied to Sh0dan's question in Guide Support & Bug Reports
HDR required for LODGen? Wasn't aware of that, but makes sense then why it crashes. I'm not using HUD Alive, the only UI type 'addition' I installed was HUD Status Bars, but I ended up deleting the majority of entries in the HUD Status Bars INI that were added by other mods. It was just too much on-screen at any given time. For OBXP - you can disable the 'messages' through it's own INI, but that still leaves a lot of clutter. You can disable some more of that by deleting most of it's XML files in the "Menus" folder. Still, I can't get rid of that box... Maybe I should ask the mod author if they're still around. Either that, or I might have to look at an alternative levelling system. If I look at the OBXP_Strings.XML this seems to contain the majority of text that appears in the popups. For example, here's a snippet of what I assume the box is using > <_ptsRemaining2>Skill Points carried over:</_ptsRemaining2> <_gained>Gained</_gained> <_pts>XP.</_pts> <_restedMsg>Having rested, your wit quickens and you gain experience more quickly. Rested XP:</_restedMsg> <_compQst>Completed the quest</_compQst> <_killed>Killed</_killed> <_actorLvl>level</_actorLvl> <_companion>Companion</_companion> <_killed2>killed</_killed2> <_VELock>Picked a very easy lock.</_VELock> <_ELock>Picked an easy lock.</_ELock> <_MLock>Picked a medium lock.</_MLock> <_HLock>Picked a hard lock.</_HLock> <_VHLock>Picked a very hard lock.</_VHLock> When I delete this file, the box comes up with just the XP number. There must be somewhere where it is calculating the XP and displaying it as a number. If I could find where that is, I could probably disable the popup entirely. Thanks for your continued support! -
Hishutup Oblivion Guide - Landscape Holes/Seams/Misalignment
Sh0dan replied to Sh0dan's question in Guide Support & Bug Reports
I downloaded the latest version of OR (2.2) but it seems it still only uses SMAA and not MSAA, even though they mention it in the feature list. Strange this is, I cannot get the game to load now using any setting other than having HDR enabled in the Oblivion launcher. I un-checked Read Only on my INI and tried No HDR+MSAA and then No HDR + No Bloom + No MSAA and it still crashed on load. It would only load when HDR was set in the Launcher... any idea what that is about? Also, if I'm enabling HDR within OR itself - do you still need to enable HDR in the Launcher (if it didn't crash without it, that is) or is it an either/or situation? Another issue I'm having is regarding Oblivion XP. I prefer a minimalist HUD and so I tend to disable anything and everything I don't absolutely need. I've disabled most of OBXP's popups but I cannot get rid of the box that comes up everytime you gain XP. It pops up in the top left and says for example "Mudcrab killed - 36XP". By deleting almost all of the Oblivion XP XML files, it removed everything except the box itself that still popped up but this time with just the number in it "36". I read through all the documentation but it doesn't really mention this anywhere, I would assume by deleting some XML you can disable that box entirely, but then again maybe it's in the .esp or something? Thanks!
