  1. I followed some guide I found online, but I'm not sure which one. Maybe one of these: I'm pretty sure it was one of those. My current Skyrim.ini settings are: fDefault1stPersonFOV=85fDefaultFOV=65fDefaultWorldFOV=65 I just started the game and typed in the console "fov 85" and nothing happened, which means it's currently set to 85. The FOV for book reading and lockpicking is the vanilla one. Maybe the changes got baked into the save file somehow when I used setcameraFOV 85 ?
  2. I noticed that changing the default FOV on the app also changes the FOV for item previews on the inventory screen, as well as the book reading and lockpick interface. I set my FOV to 85 and it applied to all of those things, making them be visualized far away. I had to manually edit the .ini to fix that so it looked like this: fDefault1stPersonFOV=85 (the only one I wanted to change).fDefaultFOV=65fDefaultWorldFOV=65 Perhaps you should limit the FOV change to first person, or maybe include separate drop down menus for each one?
  3. 1) Do I need to check the ENB box if I use ENB without any graphical modifications? 2) What is "modder's paradise" mode? EDIT: Running from MO I still had the duplicated settings issue. Nothing I couldn't fix by manually editting the ini's, though.
  4. Presto! Disabling the antivirus did it! EDIT: Added spINI.exe as and exclusion to Avast and it now works fine. Thanks for the help!
  5. Just tried running it from outside MO yet and I got the same behavior as before: the windows loading icon shows beside the mouse cursor and stays like this forever until I reboot the laptop.
  6. I still can't run the latest version at all...
  7. I've seen this issue as well.
  8. Could the fact that I am running ENB (without graphical modifications) have anything to do with it? I am using enbseries v. 0.279 (https://enbdev.com/download_mod_tesskyrim.htm) And ENBoost with the preset for AMD videocard (https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/38649/?tab=2&navtag=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.nexusmods.com%2Fskyrim%2Fajax%2Fmodfiles%2F%3Fid%3D38649&pUp=1) I don't recall correctly, but I think I may have installed those concurrently with the spINI updates. Maybe I screwed something up in the process.
  9. Same thing again... Tried it from MO and from outside it. But you don't have to worry about it because the set of inis I created before I got this bug are pretty stable and haven't given me any problems so far. Unless you really want to troubleshoot this bug (that apparently nobody else is getting), just let it be. Thanks for the support!
  10. Yes, 2.1 is when it starts not working. The problem with V-Sync was that it was disabled on my ENB's .ini file. Setting it to true solved the problem.
  11. I just tried running version 2.0 outside Mod Organizer and it launched fine. Did you change anything on later versions that could have any influence on my problem? EDIT: Or maybe you could send me a template spINI.ini so I can see if it helps the app launch.
  12. No. Clicking it leads to an eternal loading ring on the windows mouse cursor and nothing happens. On eitther case (inside or outside MO), the process never actually shows up on the Task Manager and no folders are created in Documents/My Games/Skyrim, but it is apparently being used by System, as trying to delete it has shown. EDIT: Does the .exe need to be on a specific location?
  13. Latest version is still a no go for me. I can't run it no matter what, from MO or clicking directly on the executable. I deleted all the folders from the previous version and installed 2.2.3, but MO still freezes after I try to run it. The process keeps running on the background and the only way to stop it is rebooting the PC. :( EDIT: no folder was created on Documents/My Games/Skyrim when running from MO.
  14. I don't have a spINI.ini file anywhere. Where should it be? Also, the spINI Cache folder only contains backups of SkyrimEditor.ini and SkyrimEditorPrefs.ini. Shouldn't it also contain backups of Skyrim.ini and SkyrimPrefs.ini? Or is it different because I'm using MO? The latest version has the same problem for me, clicking the .exe or running it from MO leads to nothing - the app never starts and MO freezes, and I cannot end it through Task Manager because it doesn't show up there. Trying to delete the .exe gives a message saying it's impossible because the file is being used by the system. The only solution is to reboot the PC. EDIT: I think I may have screwed something up by moving some files to different folders - I can't remember if I did this or not. Should I delete everything and start over? Which files should I delete and where?
  15. This is the log of the last of the four folders: https://pastebin.com/XawD1ARN This log was sitting on the spINI cache folder along with the other folders ("Before spINI" and the four backup folders): https://pastebin.com/et8AvdAx Although I think those were created when the app was actually running correctly. I don't think a log was generated after the app started freezing for me.
  16. I cannot run the new version at all, not even clicking directly on the executable. I tried deleting the folder to download it again, but Windows keeps telling me it cannot be deleted because it's being used by the system, even though the executable is NOT actually running. So I'm stuck now. EDIT: added the word "not" in capitals.
  17. Can the current version still be run from MO? MO freezes everytime I try to launch it. I cannot use the app anymore.
  18. I believe the correct location is being found, because if I delete the INIs and run spINI, new INIs are created in the correct MO profile foder. The message I get tells me that I probably don't have writing access to a certain folder. I can't tell which one exactly because the message is not displayed entirely. What about the V-sync thing? Is there a line in Skyrim.ini I should be looking at to make sure V-sync is enabled?
  19. I ran into a problem that I had faced before, but can't solve this time. I chose the Medium settings and my game is running at about 80 FPS on exteriors. The problem is that there is a lot of microstutter and the image seems to be cut sometimes, as if V-sync was disabled. In the past all I had to do was enable V-Sync and the problem was solved (at the cost of a good 20-30 FPS on exteriors). Now, however, I have V-sync checked on the app before running spINI and I didn't check any of the MO tweak options with the exception of ENB must-have tweaks (I use ENB without graphical modifications). How can I fix this problem? EDIT: I am getting the warning that the .ini files can't be backed up. Do I need to disable UAC on Windows? Not sure if it's related, but I also noticed that some of my .ini files had several duplicate entries. I suspect that everytime I edit the settings with spini, it merges changes to the them instead of replacing them with new ones.
  20. I noticed that the Mod Organizer File is now on Old Files section. How should I update from 1.2 using MO? EDIT: Do I need to run it form MO, like another user said?
  21. This is truly an impressive set of ini tweaks. My game is running a lot smoother now and I got a boost of 10-20 FPS in some places. Interiors are almost always at the 60FPS cap, and I'm running on a laptop on Ultra Settings.
  22. Oh, you're right. I got confused because I use Mod Organizer, which save .ini's to the individual profile folders.
  23. If I'm not mistaken, skyrim.ini should be on the same folder skyrimlauncher.exe (or whatever the name is) is.
  24. Pardon my dullness, but if I use Mod Organizer should I install just spINI tweaks or both the files?
  25. It seems like I can only backup 3 load orders at a time and they seem to be shared between all profiles. Is that right? If it is, I suggest that a more efficient load order backup system is implemented. Suggestions: 1. More backup slots (10 or so); 2. Separate backup management for each profile, if that is not already the case; 3. A way to name each load order for easier management (or ar least include a tag with the character's name and the date/time).
