ENB 110 Shadow Comparisons

Still only one proxy if using injector (the one you name d3d9.dll). I couldnt get a 2nd proxy working when trying it quite some time ago atleast Perfectly -
Black Circles, z-fighting and texture shimmering
Vond replied to torminater's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Will do when I get home, that video was with only RLwC active (turned off ENB to be able to make the video at all fps-wise). Sadly that wont be an agreeable solution though in the end as I wont give up lighting mods to get rid of flickering. :) -

Just remove the textures part from Pannorians parallox mountains & rocks archive, and it works fine -
Black Circles, z-fighting and texture shimmering

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MnDtLIemqKg Uploaded this to show I'm still having some issues even with using all the changes to TerrainManager and the fSkyCellRefFadeDistance value in SkyrimPrefs.ini and the fNearDistance value in Skyrim.ini. I get the same results with or without Enhanced Distant Terrain and HQ LOD meshes/textures. Oh, also uExterior Cell Buffer is at 64 in the video. As you can see the z-fighting in that area is still quite horrid. :/ FOV is at default -

Ok the mod skwareballz linked has now been updated and now makes use of ENB's parallax bugfixes, excellent! -

With .112 of ENB that was released today, you can now get SSA/DoF etc without turning UseOriginalPostProcessing to false, bug was fixed. :) -

Yeah I don't notice any difference in fps with it set to false or true in the ini, SSAO is the only major impact on fps really. And well yeah you could grab that if you make sure to extract all the .fx files. Check out my post here though about an issue with turning everything except SSAO/DoF/Shadows/Parallax fix off: https://enbdev.com/enbseries/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=662&sid=ae5a144177b6f9179114b24373db3064&start=140 Been updating the ini quite a bit since the link I provided earlier (aswell as the sun/moon textures and the palette) but it's for RLwC rather than RCRN now and still a WIP anyway, but the .fx files are the same so don't see any real issues from using those except what I mentioned in that post on ENB forums I linked. -

If you're only using the enbseries.ini and not the .fx files (which I assume you are if trying the shadows-only enb) then you can't get bloom as the code for bloom is in enbbloom.fx and enbeffects.fx. -
The card he's currently using is a 5770, so yeah could be that as it's quite a few years old

No, renaming it like that won't work with the injector as I mentioned, as when using that you don't use the proxy function at all - say for example I wanted to use the SMAA injector with ENB's injector. Then I keep the SMAA dll named d3d9.dll still, and don't need to call it in the proxy-lib, as there is no d3d9.dll for ENB this way. If you download ENB binaries you'll notice there is a Injector folder and a Wrapper folder, they eventually do the same, just differently - and the injector version is overall compatible with more tools such as MSI Afterburner, Xfire etc etc. Never heard of Overwolf I'm afraid. :)

SKYRIMLE Project Parallax - Rocks and Mountains
Vond replied to skwareballz's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Will try that one out, though the fact that it doesn't make use of the bethesda-engine bugfixes for parallax that ENB fixes is a bit sad, doesn't mean it's not good though, we'll see! -
Hmmm, still not convinced what caused this... only that it is related to ATI graphics. Did your brother uninstall anything ATI-related after installing Tray Tools and before confirming Skyrim would boot? In other words, is there any direct evidence that Tray Tools was the culprit and not something related to a driver installation issue? Did he sign the sys files? Just want to try to sort this out in case it happens to somebody else ;) He touched nothing at all with the ATI install before trying to boot Skyrim 30+ times, rebooting computer, running registry cleaners etc etc, so it was 99.9% sure that. :) Maybe the changes in those files doesn't work with all ATI cards? His is pretty old as he's still waiting on getting his "real" card back. He did sign the sys files, and even did it once more once I got over there just because I pestered him about it :P

Ah he called it panoramic view, that explains it! No need now anyway as this was long ago before I started working on my own preset, and I'm very happy with the way I set up my DOF now -
HiAlgoBoost: As I mentioned, I use the Injector version of ENB, ie not the d3d9.dll. That means I don't call for proxy via enbseries.ini, but rather leave the other mod called d3d9.dll (in this case, yours) to load it as the dll ENB uses is called enbseries.dll and is injected into Skyrim via the ENBInjector.exe. It did not seem to be compatible with that way of using ENB sadly, and I can't go back to using the wrapper (d3d9.dll) version due to 3rd party programs. :)

Yeah SVI3 is a nice ENB preset, but I hate the "cinematic" windowing, and whilst that's usually easy to find in enbeffect.fx, it wasn't in his version because he coded it differently. That or I was just very tired when I looked at it and discarded it. :P And yeah, he wrote the DoF-code that pretty much everyone uses, but I can't for the life of me understand why people want to play with bokeh DoF for anything other than taking screenshots... I pretty much made it 20x weaker in my own preset -
Finally got it working after we noticed you had linked your uninstall/install ATI drivers reference to the wiki and ran that batch-file in safe mode. After doing that and reinstalling, everything works, so it turns out it was indeed the tray tools that messed up things somehow :) Just glad its over now though and that we never got around to uninstalling all mods etc!

Thanks again for the troubleshooting help. :) The sfc /scannow command showed no errors whatsoever. Doing complete reinstall of Skyrim etc now. Noticed that the game crashes whilst trying to create the RendererInfo.txt file in My Games\Skyrim, or atleast it goes from not being there at all to creating an empty file just as the game crashes. Will grab GPU-z for him aswell now so we can trh that aswell etc

Reinstalled tray tools and checked in dxdiag which shows that everything should be working. Could launch the CK and the renderer and everything would work. Have verified Skyrim file cache (and deleted some files to re-verify them just incase), made sure everything is proper with SKSE install, deleted and remade Skyrim.ini / SkyrimPrefs.ini etc and nothing works. Nothing at all having to do with the Skyrim files were changed from when it worked though (which was just moments before installing the tray tool update package), just damn odd. Trying to delete Skyrim.esm aswell now to reverify that one, but it didnt look corrupt and could be loaded in the CK so sounds unlikely, but its worth a shot I suppose :)

We did reinstall ATI Catalyst 12.4 after uninstalling tray tools. He didnt have any other games installed (fresh win7 install) but we're sorting that atm to try it out eventually. He did have ATI Tray Tools installed before this without problems, the issue only started after he added those files you linked and followed the instructions. When trying to launch the game now it takes a LONG time before anything happens at all, then a small window pops and just disappears and the executable has closed/crashed. Are there any specific uninstallation instructions for the package you provided?
-
Still trying to sort this for my brother as since he followed the post by z-man the game just refuses to start. It crashes on load every time (apparently he never managed to start it at all, what I posted earlier about it not locking fps was what he had read about using the refresh-lock function). We even uninstalled ATI Tray now but it still refuses to load. Nothing besides installing (and now uninstalling) the ATI Tray+extra files and signing drivers etc has been done since it last worked. Any ideas would be welcome!

Linked to this to my brother who uses an ATI card and he tried it out, and doing this only limits the refresh rate, not the fps at all. FPS would still go crazy high on startmenu etc while it shouldn't go over the locked value if properly fps-locked, any ideas? If V-sync is enabled, then likewise should your FPS be. Your bother maybe does not have v-sync enabled? He plays in windowed-mode, so nope. He just wanted to use this to lock the FPS at 30-35ish, same as I can do via NVIDIA Inspector. Edit: Went over to his place now to help him out etc as he lives nearby, and since installing this he has apparently just crashed over and over and over when trying to start Skyrim, even with V-Sync enabled. He cant even get the startmenu to open. He didnt uninstall CCC apparently, is that required?

Installing performance version of SMIM
Vond replied to doveman's question in General Skyrim LE Support
I said I "just unpack manually into the MO folder". Not sure where he got the idea I unpack into the Data folder from. Because of the " I don't use any installers" line -
I tried it out for 5min. Changed the ini to make sure the changes would be as minimal as possible, yet even then it was a MASSIVE change whenever I was moving, not just turning. Didn't seem to be compatible with the injector version of ENB I guess cause it turned off everything with ENB etc aswell even when changing the ENB value to true in ini aswell etc etc. Didn't like it one bit ;(

Installing performance version of SMIM
Vond replied to doveman's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Yeah, Mod Organizer. You don't install into the Data directory with MO, but into Mod Organizer/mods/modname. That was pretty much his point. You made it sound like you installed directly into the Data dir by saying you didn't use any installer, thus our confusion.
