  1. No. You copy in the files to the skyrim dir. MO does not do that. If you want to compare then first start a game with Realvision and take a screenshot or walk around. Then go out and move the d3d9.dll file from enb to the desktop and copy in the ULO SweetFX files, and run the game again.
  2. Any ENB can be made into a performance version rather easily. Get one where you like the colors and feel, and then scale down the performance requiring features. If you need help doing that then just ask.
  3. Just means you have to make sure you do not have any hardware AA enabled at all! If you do then most ENB effects will not work properly.
  4. You are most likely using an ENB preset with Vsync disabled... which in turn disable it entirely from the game unless you had it forced by drivers as well. If you are not then it is odd, since vanilla skyrim has built in Vsync enabled that you need to apply ini changes for in order to disable.
  5. Well my first guess would be a texture mod with the name bridges in it... We really do need a mod list in order to help.
  6. There is a massive conflict with SOS just like for RLO... you need to make a patch that adjusts EVERY single cell ELFX touches. As far as I know nobody have released one yet. Essentially anything RLO conflicts with ELFX will conflict with since ELFX use RLO resources by permission.
  7. It is very easy in gimp. 1. Get the DDS plugin. 2. Load in the respective texture 3. Go to "Image" -> "Resize" and pick the next resolution. Must always be a power of 2... so 2, 4, 8, 16, ... 4096 etc. 4. Go to "file" -> "export as" pick .dds as the name of the file and execute. 5. In the popup menu that comes make sure to pick "create mip maps" also change the compression to DXT5. Thats it to manually resize and recompress a texture in gimp. Ps. Do note that the entries in " " might not be entirely correctly named as I am putting this down from memory! But it should be close to this. :)
  8. It can sometimes be helpful. But you can always disable it again. So if you find an interior that provides issues, you can try to enable it again, and likewise if you find one that has issues with it on.
  9. Touching the meshes is almost always a very bad idea. Regardless of what some people want you to think. You should only ever do it if you are 100% sure of what you are doing and why. In general for compression then it can go wrong. And if it does then the resource will not be loadable by the game. Also some resources like certain textures will not like if you even add compression at all, so it is not really a good idea to do so. Also any program that just "does it on everything at once" is bound to cause more work then doing it piece wise one mod folder at a time, and testing properly.
  10. Purple "textures" mean that you only have a normal map applied to the mesh. Hence the diffuse map is not properly compressed, or the right size or some other texture related issue.
  11. Most likely is is because two mods are adding a light source to the same location, hence amplifying the effect to get what you see. Normally it is only an issue with candles that are bunched up. Either that or you are using an ENB with too high settings.
  12. Way too high FPS or too low will cause the helgen intro to mess up since it is rather delicate in the timings. Also if you activate a large number of script mods then you will get issues since the CPU cannot deal with the correct ones in the proper time causing issues with events not happening in the order they are meant. Hence try to make sure you have between 20-60 FPS, and do not activate any mods until you are inside the keep.
  13. Last idea is that your game is getting bogged down by scripts that are not properly stopped... which eventually will bog down a game as well. Guess I should have thought of that initially. Oh well still learning!
  14. That should do the trick yes. It only takes adding one new mod etc. to mess up AV. This is mainly because the FormID´s that gets generated stops working when the game assigns and alters other formID´s depending on your list. At least that is what I have nailed it down to after Oh so many reinstalls!
  15. I am going to assume you are meaning F for those temperatures :P And no around 80C (175F give or take) for a gfx card under full load is normal depending on room temperature etc. For further testing then set your shadow resolution to 1k in the ini´s and run only with the Official textures. If you made an optimized loose file version of those then you can just drag those mod folders down to the bottom of the mod list and they will overwrite all other texture mods. Will save you the time of disabling everything etc. This way you should have reduced the stress on the CPU, and reduced the memory load by a really large amount. This should in all cases not stress your hardware as much. If you still experience the problem after that then I would be at a bit of a loss as to why.
  16. Missing textures are because of A: Bad/wrong optimization and recompression of textures. B: Somehow you messed up Automatic Variants (Which it sounds like here) and need to rebuild it. As for OC... OC can make any program crash! By OCing your card you do make it go beyond its safety limits, which can also result in an automatic termination of a program. It can also just be a CTD due to memory errors on the card due to the OC. Performance will always be lowest out in the wilds, since there is the most stuff that needs to be rendered. Some view angles and places just have lower performance that can kneel even the best of cards since they most likely are due to some odd shadow calculations that bogs down the CPU.
  17. They are not "wrong"... they just do not seem to actually improve performance in any tangible ways. Hence the mantra "less is better" normally applies since if you do run into issues down the road, then it is not because of that. At least that is the way I see it! If something does not seem to do anything then no point in adding an extra layer of complexity. Also thanks Neo! :)
  18. Even though you have made so many posts now that I have more or less memorized your specs and mod list then it would still be nice to have information like "I am using ENB" before posting such a question! ;) Marked as solved as well.
  19. Another good thing about the mod is that you then have all the face textures etc. in one folder. You can just copy in content from other face mods as you experiment. I am using the all in one face for all but the elven races, where I copied in Ethereal Elven Overhaul to overwrite the required files. You might ask why I do not just activate the mod itself later and let it overwrite. Well because it includes a lot of stuff I was not interested in, and my mod list is long enough as it is! :)
  20. Run the game with Skyrim performance monitor or some other monitor software enabled. Specifically ones that can measure the clock speeds of the CPU/GPU. If they somehow get throttled down after a while then you would get what you describe. Also some locations in skyrim are just horriblely optimized, and will provoke FPS drops even on the most monster of rigs. Make sure to mention in which location you are testing!
  21. For all intents and purposes they all do nothing that affects performance in measurable ways. At least we have never had any reports about it. You are actually one of the first to report an issue with them, which I find a bit interesting. But I guess the issue would arise because it is the wrong number of cores that you have put in. I forgot if it is a number of physical cores or virtual ones that goes in there.
  22. Reinstall the game would be the most obvious choice I think. If you are using Mod Organizer then it is really simple to just load in your mod order and load order etc. again. If you are doing a reinstall of an OS then it is always a good idea to start everything over as well.... otherwise strange issues like this will happen.
  23. Most likely your issue is due to severe FPS drops in the startup sequence. If it drops too low then it is because the CPU is also working overtime, hence the scripts and timings get offset. You can also experience this with too many script intensive mods if you activate them all during the ride. Make sure your shadow settings are no higher then 1k in the ini´s and also you can reduce grass draw distances, and how dense it is to improve performance with little visual loss. Also make sure you do not have Skylighting enabled if you are using an ENB... or at least use one of the newer versions since there performance is VASTLY superior to older versions.
  24. Lower the direct lighting intensity value in the ENB GUI.
  25. Well other then hardware related issues then I am at a bit of a loss. Also if you have some lighting overhauls that add light sources then you can run into issues. This is because they provoke a much more complex shadow computation that can bog down any system. However that should not affect the startup noticeably...I assume you have the mod that removes the loading screen fog etc.
