  1. Thanks for the response, that helps. The TES5Merged patch is sort of a "pre" Bash Patch. For a standard install you're probably not going to need it, but I've got a lot of mods and it has always seemed to help with stability. I know that everything runs faster with one installed, but I'll link the video so you can see for yourself. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BtLolEgVMTg It's worth noting that many of these videos feature information that does not appear in the STEP guide, they are very useful.
  2. As stated in the question, I am following the GamerPoet videos that cover STEP. I am not doing an exact STEP installation, but the question was about the order of process for making and sorting the patches listed so that wouldn't really matter. I do not use the STEP patches at all. GamerPoets instructions are to install everything. Run LOOT and make sure everything is cleaned in TES5Edit, and run LOOT again to make sure everything is ordered properly. Then - 1: TES5Merged patch 2: Bashed patch 3: SkyProc patchers 4: FNIS 5: Dual Sheath Redux 5. Dynamic Distant Objects This seems to makes sense, but I am not sure about the DynDOLOD. At that point I would run LOOT again according to the STEP instructions, but if LOOT changes the load order don't I have to make a new TES5Merged patch and Bashed Patch? I just want to verify the specifics of the process, or find a location that spells out... 1 - the order to run 2 - the order to place 3 - the order to load each and all of the elements that are required after the installation.
  3. I have sort of a big question. I am now spending a lot of time with GamerPoet's spectacularly useful videos and have gained a much better understanding of the whole process of modding Skyrim. However... ... I am baffled as to what order to do the post installation house keeping. I have a Bashed Patch, a DynDOLOD patch, a TES5Merged Patch, FNIS, Duel Sheath Redux, STEP DynDOLOD, as well as LeanWolf's Better-Shaped Weapons (not sure if that's a patch yet) and that's off the top of my head. So I have everything installed. In what order do I do all these things? What order should they be listed in Mod Organizer's Left Pane, and what should their actual Lord Order be in the Plugins Pane? As always I appreciate any help offered. Thank you.
  4. Thank you very much for the assistance. I appreciate it. It might be worthwhile to have the Mod Organizer folks amend that notation, perhaps with some specific reference to STEP.
  5. I'm sure this has come up before but I wasn't sure which search terms to use. Everyone has seen the exclamation point in the upper right corner of Mod Organizer, and the little numbers. And I'm sure everyone has seen the Potential Mod Order Problem message, saying the load order is not good and the message "If someone suggested you ignore this message, please give them a proper slapping from me. Do not ignore this warning". I just wondered what if anything we are supposed to do with this information? I have tried the Mod Organizer "fix" a couple of times and the results we not good in any way. Do we just ignore that message and go with LOOT, and if so is there any talk of just getting rid of that message? Thank you for any assistance offered.
  6. Is it alright to leave this mod out of the STEP installation completely? Will it cause any other conflicts?
  7. This is fantastic. I would like to do the same process, but I am not a modder. Is there a guide that could detail the steps listed here? Specifically, I only know the basic cleaning of mods with Tes5edit, and I have never even heard of FNIS. I do use Mod Organizer, LOOT (as of reading this), and Wrye Bash.
  8. In the instructions for the Bethesda Hi-Res DLC Optimized, we are told to modify the Skyrim.ini file by adding the following entry - ********** [Archive] sResourceArchiveList=Skyrim - Misc.bsa, Skyrim - Shaders.bsa, Skyrim - Textures.bsa, Skyrim - Interface.bsa, Skyrim - Animations.bsa, Skyrim - Meshes.bsa, Skyrim - Sounds.bsa sResourceArchiveList2=Skyrim - Voices.bsa, Skyrim - VoicesExtra.bsa ********** Are we still supposed to do that? I vaguely recall seeing something that said we didn't have to anymore. Thanks for the help.
  9. As the subject says. When installing S.T.E.P. with Mod Organizer should the BSA files be Un-Packed? Is there a rule regarding this? Or does it depend on what is being installed? Thank you for any assistance offered.
  10. I appreciate the help. I was baffled.
  11. When I look in that folder, I should see scripts and then add the skse folder in the same spot? So basically, I end up with the scripts folder and the skse folder that I create, when I look at this with Mod Organizer's "Open In Explorer"?
  12. I was hoping someone could elaborate on these instructions. "Place *.exe and *.dll into / (not the data directory!)" I think I understand this. Unzip the skse_1_06_16.7z file. Place the skse_1_9_32.dll, skse_steam_loader.dll, and skse_loader.exe into the Skyrim directory. "Repackage skse*.zip:Extract Data/Repackage into a new zip file (name it accordingly)" For this, is the intention to re-zip the folder and add this Mod Organizer without the skse_steam_loader.dll, skse_1_9_32.dll and skse_loader.exe files? So I re-zip up the folder I got the skse_1_9_32.dll and skse_loader.exe from. "Place into MO downloads directory, Install repacked archive via MO" I know how to do this. BUT, what files and folders am I trying to install? What should I want to see when I look right click on this mod in Mod Organizer and select "Open In Explorer"? Should I only have the scripts? I was not sure what to do here. "Add the following to /skse/skse.ini (create INI if necessary):" I think know how to do this as well. I would just Open In Explorer and add this. I would appreciate any assistance offered. Thank you.
  13. I am doing this and it's not working. Any other ideas? I could not find an entry in the .ini that would appear to effect this. UPDATE - well, it eventually worked. I walked away from the computer for a bit and when I came back - poof - it was fine.
  14. Unique Grasses is what I am using along with SFO Regular. It looks fantastic, a great combination. If you like these sorts of mods this would be worth loading.
  15. Just one person's perspective - I have almost 200 mods running, and with Wrye Bash and a Tes5edit Merged Patch, I have had no problems with AOS. It really does make a difference in the ambience, but also in game play. You can hear things you should be able to hear, and it definitely effects your decisions. There is a lot of working being done on patches, and the comments from the author are very encouraging.
  16. Thank you sir, appreciated.
  17. What part of the ini would I tweak? There does not appear to be any "window" listed when I do a search. Ok, different question - where and what setting makes Skyrim load Fullscreen or Windowed?
  18. So, I'm following S.T.E.P. and throwing in some parts of Skyrim Revisited. During the Skyrim Revisited install at one point it suggests you go into windows mode. Which I did, but now I can't get out of it. I am using Mod Organizer, which may be part of the issue. Does anyone know to load from Mod Organzer and force it to stop loading in Windowed Mode? Thanks.
  19. First thanks for responding and making the mod. It is excellent. Do not use the FOMOD installer. Ah, yes I found that. In wall of text three quarters of the way down the Description page. "However, if using Mod Organizer to installer, do not use the integrated FOMOD installer". That and the mention of the your broken FOMOD installer. On the other hand on the page with the file it states - "It's as simple as downloading and using Wrye Bash, Mod Organizer, or NMM to install, and following the installer. Or manually copying over the files, if that's your thing." I could see amending the words on the file page to include the instructions from the Description page, just for the sake of clarity. That, or fixing the FOMOD Installer would be good. Thanks again.
  20. This is odd. So I do have the most recent version, and now I do see the option for the Dark Brotherhood. BUT - when I install this version it adds all the patch .esp files but does not install the main .esp or the .bsa file. Again, I am using Mod Organizer. I have tried this every way I can think of, and no matter what do the installer places everything normally except the masters. So this is weird.
  21. Hmm... well. Thanks. I'll go check my version. It may be MO loading an earlier one, I'll take a look.
  22. Regarding the installation of Even Better Quest Objectives STEP version 2.2.6 states - "Select the optional "Dark Brotherhood Forever to Miscellaneous Quests file" Where is this file? It is not on the Even Better Quest Objectives page, could some explain how to locate it?
  23. Last file before Bash Patch. Thanks.
  24. Actually, no. The instructions for the General Patch's load order are not in the guide. The guide explains how to set its location with BOSS Userlist Manager, which is not an answer to my question. The guide does not state where the General Patch should go. That is my question. Clearly if I need an answer to this question I am using other mods, because I have a Bashed Patch and I need to determine where the General Patch goes in relation to its position. So. If anyone else might know, my question was where would I place the General Patch in my load order? More specifically than "before the Bashed Patch"?
  25. I would like to know the proper way to place a Wrye Bash patch along with the "General" patch recommended by Skyrim Revisited. Where would I place the General patch in the Load Order? What modifications do I need to make, if any do either patch so they will work together? Thank you to any who respond.
