Excellent! Any idea what might be causing my hand issue? I've tried so many things I'm starting to lose track. -

I can't for the life of me figure out why my characters hands are so ugly since I reinstalled everything. I tried reinstalling Roberts twice, but it didn't make a difference. Seems to be the same issue across different races too. Here's a picture from before I had to reinstall and one from after: Any idea what might be causing this? There's also a significant seam between the hands and body now. EDIT: I still have the same hands with the ranger armor, so obviously it's part of that texture. The normal hands are still really blocky and blurry though, and even fails to match up with the arm properly. -

Here's a picture I took when playing through Lonesome Road a few weeks back. I use Old World ENB, it's fairly performance friendly and goes well along with the original color schemes. Unless you have a very specific taste, I'd recommend it wholeheartedly. Needless to say it looks a lot better than vanillla, but it won't look as good as modded Skyrim, since it's basically using a older version of the engine. It looks more than good enough to be beautiful in its own quirky way, while not taking the attention away from the game's strongest points - namely the writing, characters and believable world, yet whacko world. -
Green Rectangle Cursor on Black Screen Startup error
MonoAccipiter replied to baronaatista's question in Guide Support & Bug Reports
When the game boots to the start menu and there's no text it's almost always a patch or mod referring to a deleted record (like a gun using an ammo type that was removed or something similar), which sounds really strange since you're launching it outside of MO (and I assume you haven't installed any other mods). Perhaps try verifying the integrity of the game cache with Steam. If that doesn't work make a backup of the MO folder, delete everything, reinstall the game and add the MO folder again, making sure to run the game at different intervals (once without anything added, once with just the 4GB loader, once from MO etc) until you get to the point where it doesn't work. Then I can much more easily be able to help you. I'm afraid I haven't really experience what you're describing so anything else before you went through that check would be guesswork, but at least you won't need to redownload any of the mods (probably some of the tools, depending on where you installed them, but you can back them up as well) if you backup your MO folder. -

Yes. Well, after saying that I remembered Ess removed the section about cleaning. It apparently isn't necessary. -

Added the recipe menu mod to the guide, as well as the changelog entry I couldn't add the other day. Looking at getting the ADAM package with my changes uploaded on the Nexus fairly soon. -

I've looked at Power Armor Scaling earlier and considered adding it to my setup, I can test that in the next few days if you want (does Powered Power Armor changes the bonuses? Too long since I used it, as I mentioned earlier). Can only reiterate what you said about the explosives fic, seems an obvious candidate, but depends on how well it works. Does WRP use old or new hunting rifle paths? I can check that tomorrow, I think. The Nuka Cola Machine thing is a cool idea, but I'm unsure if it's worth a plugin and Quantum's should not be easily available in NV at all (as per lore, which made me so annoyed with The New Bison Steve that I removed every one of them bar a single one (in Buck's Place) in my overhauld of that mod). -

Stuff unticked in MO will be unticked in WB as well (and vice versa). The plusses mean the plugin has been merged into the Bashed Patch and should be left unticked. -

I'm not sure but I don't think FNVLODGen has a very high performance impact. It only makes sure objects added by mods (buildings etc) also have LOD versions that you can see from far away, like corresponding vanilla objects. A lot of mods will have their changes overwritten by other mods. I know it's boring, but I can't really say it's okay to skip it, as you'll miss out on a lot of stuff for several mods. When I did this I used Windows' split screen feature (drag a window to the edge of your screen to make it use half the space) to watch some TV on the right half while having MO and FNVEdit on the left half. Every record that is changed by several mods (this can be everything from NPCs to an interior cell) will only have the changes made by the last mod to edit them. The Bashed Patch is essential to making the guide work as intended. No. I have this issue as well after reinstalling the whole guide earlier this week (Windows decided now was a good time to die) and I have no idea why. If anyone could offer some insight on it that would be very helpful. I can't look much into it myself until Sunday because I'm currently away from my main computer. Maybe you can upload a screenshot (use the tlc 1 command to use a flying camera while pausing the game) too, since I'm unable to for the time being. Sorry, never looked into AWOP. Perhaps Ess could be of more assistance. -

Are you unable to click on targets or execute the selected attacks? What do you mean by the rest of VATS? Don't have my computer right now so I can't double check, but just activate all your plugings, make a bashed patch and let it disable and merge mods that can be merged into it. Then reactive the two plugins that are marked as nomerge (should arenovalistextures.esp and MiscItemIconsNV.esp, but you can identify them because they have a dot in their checkbox in Wrye Bash). This probably happened because you ran WB outside of MO once. Just delete the bashed patch in the you "Fallout New Vegas/Data" folder. Don't disable the plugins, they don't have anything to do with the textures (beyond putting stuff into the game that uses said textures). By optimized archives I assume you mean the archives you made after having optimized the textures? If so, install them in MO and sort them after their unmanaged counterparts. -

I had the same tag added by the script and can verify the exact same thing happened with the RGB values in my merged plugin. -

Looks like Ess had already updated to the 1.11 version. I added Securitron Highres retexture, but haven't been able to add it to the changelog as I've had to wrestle with the website to even get the guide to load the last couple of hours. Here's the comparison pictures I took when initially suggesting the mod back in December: -

Directions is also often the best way to familiarize yourself with the basic use of tools like FNVEdit, which comes in handy with basically any modded set-up. You linked to Better Gas Leak Effect, Hackerpcs. Not sure whether the name or the link was wrong. It just makes your INIs less cluttered with lines that doesn't actually do anything, shouldn't have any effect on performance. Yes, mods don't affect your INIs in any way. fINIp will change the default INIs, not the ones tied to MO profiles, so you will have to copy over the new default INIs to the ones in your MO profile (using the built-in editor) and apply the tweaks over again. -

The custom Desert Ranger helmets you can make at the workbench weren't added to the nightvision lists. EDIT: Do you know how Advanced Recon adds vision modes? I made a plugin for the Legacy of X-13 helmet where I added it to the PN lists, but I'd much prefer it to have both (it currently has none, which makes it rather useless with ILO + an ENB). -

I was thinking to upload the installer (which would include my new patch for FAUE + my changes to the plugin (adding the missing helmets to the PN vision lists) + the new texture for the outcast poster). I had assumed that was alright since the only reference I could find to AI99's work on it was on the mod page itself and VT08 gave me permission to upload my changed version, but if you were thinking I'm missing some permissions I'll withhold it. -

I linked that a bit earlier in the thread, hellanios. Gonna have to look at that as well as linking to the eye fix in the FCO instructions, but before that I've got to upload my updates to ADAM to the Nexus as I recently got permission from the author to do so. To make matters worse I should've gone to bed hours ago! :O_o: -

This note on Roberts Male Body needs a rework of some kind (which I'm willing to write, I just don't know what yet). Ghouls Hires retexture is installed higher up in the guide, so it wouldn't overwrite Roberts Male Body, which makes me wonder - should it be installed later, or the note changed accordingly? Also, Pip-Boy Light Colours installs a new pip-boy arm mesh, which overwrites the one from Roberts too. EDIT: Any idea why my characters hands seem really low resolution? Hmm -

The Type 3 outfit mods requires a Type 3 compatible female body, and as far as I can tell from the mod page you linked the T6M body does not fill that requirement. So, yes, you'd have to drop all the T3 outfit mods. EDIT: Saw your post about AWOP after writing my original answer. If you'd want to include AWOP in your set-up you'd have to find all the necessary patches and installation instructions yourself, as they are far too many for us to keep track of. -

Well that means you shouldn't install the other pip-boy light mod, which I consider the better alternative, but it's 100% up to you. Also, Ess, I can't for the life of me find the place in the guide marking where you're supposed to move DarnUI past installing the mods requiring it further up - is it possible you missed it? -

Sorry, Mikaal. Haven't touched that mod in a while (was never a big fan of the new armors it added, so when I played a character who didn't use PA at all, it didn't feel necessary). Flickering armors are usually a corrupted texture (the engine just uses the texture of another object close by); try reinstalling Book of Steel. -

LOOT doesn't require you to have the mods installed when setting the sorting rules, so it doesn't matter if the mods are installed before or after you set them. -

Trentosaurus is easily the best weapon maker still making stuff for FNV IMHO. The guy who made the Mossberg is pretty good too, but he's lazy with the wear patterns and only uses a splash brush, as far as I can tell, to get some semi-random marking. exiled111 has also made some stuff, but his normals are pretty weird/messed up (at least on the his last pistol) and his metals could use some work (they look more grey than metallic). Still, depends on where you set the line quality wise, and might still be worth checking out. I can't get G.E.C.K to launch with all the mods in F&L, Ess. So I've made a project profile where I only enable the mods I'm working on, and it launches without any specific settings.
