For me, there is a plugin in this category: the Blackened FWE - MMM - EVE - Project Beauty.esp from Blackened.. LOOT was updated to 0.7.1 as well as FO3 masterlist, whith the reported bash tags. I know this because I just tried to create a new Bashed Patch from scratch and all the recommended tags were imported. Maybe it's because of this? Either way do we check it or not?

Hi all, I have some questions and one suggestion to make. - I noticed that there is a beta version of FOSE (v1.3 b2). I opened and checked the changelog and there are some features and bug fixes (not many, but still). Is there any specific reason that this version is not being used? (because for those kind of mods beta=stable usually) - Is "Smaller Crosshair" mod removed from the guide? And one more general question: Sorry if this has already been answered but I'll ask anyway . Are we (the plain member users) permitted to edit a guide and if yes to what extent? If there is a specific topic about this please direct me to it, because I am a little bored to search, blame the heat . Suggestion: For any kind of mod with complicated installation instructions, it would be nice if there was a thumbnail/screenshot which shows the post-installation status of MO Information window/tabs, so that one can easily/quickly verify the correctness of his/her installation. One such mod for example is "Dynamic Weather" with its many esps and various move/delete file/folder instructions.. I think it would improve the ease of installation, because sometimes it's fairly easy to mess something up by accident even if you are an experienced user, let alone an inexperienced one. Thanks

Yeah, I totaly understand that and I didn't mean to be offensive. Sorry if I wasn't clear. I just notice that in the same thread (general feedback) there were 3 new posts after mine and I thought that no one wanted to respond to my post (for whatever reason) because it's the first in a new page and a big one too, so the fact that somenone have missed it doesn't stands. Anyway, it was probably a misunderstanding.. For my part, sorry again. -

No I didn't go that far as to search and find the problematic texture, but I checked the log's final status at the bottom where it reported 14|15 broken textures IIRC. If it helps I could do it one more time (I have an SSD) and attach the log(s) here, because I don't have THAT much free time to actually search for the problematic texture(s).. -
I was aware of this but I must have been not careful when I finally posted. I realized it soon after and made the edit. Anyway sorry for that. Also thank you for the response (above). One final question: are you planning on any big number of changes (mod additions/removals etc.) anytime soon? Because I want to start a new playthrough (to the end this time) and I want to know if I should wait or not? Thanks again

I have the same question as described in my post here https://forum.step-project.com/topic/5758-general-feedback/page-35, as well as other similar questions but it seems that no one cares to answer . Personally, in this particular problem, I think that the correct way is the one you are showing in the picture above, only the 2 "main" esps are needed. I think that we can agree that the instructions are at least confusing.. Also the following mod "20th Century Weapons Reborn eXCaliberized with additional patches" provides also the "20th Century Weapons -Plus- Reborn FWE-WMK-Calibr14_V1_70RC_18668.esp" plugin which overwrites the previous one. I hope someone would make this clear.. -
Hi all, I followed the guide recently and all went well.. I then decided to do some DDSoptmization as recommended and I followed the "Fallout QUICK-START GUIDE" optimizing the list of recommended mods. I also "split" the large mods with multiple resolutions as decribed by the "Additional Batch File Capability" text snippet for the mods: NMCs Texture Pack, UHQ Terrain Overhaul and the DLC Retextures. I should also note that I used the default Constraints with 2048x2048 resolution limit for everything except for "Mod Exterior Normal Maps" which I used 1024*1024 to reduce VRAM use a little. For the most part all went well except for the folowing problem (see screenshot): Every rock in the game looks like this. I narrowed down the problem to the "UHQ Terrain Overhaul" mod and I redid the optimization but this time I used 2048x2048 resolution limit for everything and the problem is gone! Is there something wrong with the textures of this mod and DDSoptimization? Because I would like to use 1024*1024 for "Mod Exterior Normal Maps" for all mods if possible. I have an old but decent 560ti GPU with 2GB of VRAM. Thanks Edit: typo

Hi all, it's been a long time since my last login :) Anyway, I decided to replay FO3 before FO4 comes out and I found this great guide. First of all, a big thanks to Kelmych and anyone else who's involved in the guide! I want to give some feedback from my recent installation. So here it goes: -Latest ENB version = 0.267 (vs 0.263 in the guide) -Clean the Bethesda ESMs section: Right-click Update.esm => Right-click Anchorage.esm Fixes section: - MAybe add a note for "FWE Talon Loot Crash Fix" to not enable yet (for those who want to do some testing) cause of missing masters. User Interface section: -"Smaller Crosshair" (which has only one texture file) is overwritten by "Better High Detail Maps and icons". Is this normal? - "RH_IronSights FWE- WMK compatible" mod: remove optimize flag, file has only 2 esps. - "Blackened" mod: there is a cleaning warning but there is no cleaning flag. ? - "20th Century Wpns -Plus- Reborn for FWE 603" : intallation instructions are confusing... Specifically: During the instalaltion of the main file it says, we must install only the "20th Century Weapons -Plus- Reborn FWE-WMK-Calibr14_V1_70RC_18668.esp" plugin (with either way, install only or move to optional esps). Next it says to install the update, which contains the above plugin which will overwrite the first one but also contains the "20th Century Weapons -Plus- Reborn v1_70RC-18668-ALIVE (TEST Container).esp", which was also contained in the main file and moved to optional esps (or didn't install at all), do we keep this one? Also in the next paragraph, it says that for those who also installed the "RH Ironsights" mod, after installation, to move the "20th Century Weapons -Plus- Reborn FWE-WMK-Calibr14_V1_70RC_18668.esp" to optional esps, which is the exact same plugin as the above one (which we must intall). The actual plugin that is contained in the "RH Ironsights" mod is named: "20th_Century_Weapons -Plus- Reborn_v1_70RC-18668_Ironsights_v1_1.esp". Regarding LOOT and cleaning: - The following mods are actually clean (I've double checked them but I might did someting wrong) -Zealotlee Adaptive Combat Rifle Script Bugfix - already clean -Paradox Ignition presents More Perks - already clean, also latest version is 1.2 (1 November 2014) -T3TForFWE - already clean Regarding Bashed Batch : What I understood from the guide is that currently Wrye Flash can't import automatically LOOT's tags so we must mannually add them, right? Do we have to also remove any tags that don't show up in LOOT? (BrokenSteel.esm IIRC had one bash tag that wasn't reported by LOOT). Also in the section with the recommended options to leave unchecked, in the Bashed Patch menu there is an option "Import Roads" which doesn't exist in the menu (I think it's a FONV one), closest one is Relations. ? Regarding FO3LODGen: -The guide in the begging says to make sure that we have "Have MO manage archives" unchecked, but there is no indicator as to what to do after the lod generation, leave it as is, recheck it.. what? And two bad links: - Brahmin Variant Redux - it point to "K9 Breeds" mod. - Acoraito HD Textures Pack - correct one is "https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout3/mods/21305". Now, I know that many of the above are obvious to "solve" for most of the experienced users, but for the new (to modding) users may be somewhat confusing. Sorry for the long post but there were may things I wanted to point out and also sorry for my English, it's not my native language. Edit: I just realized that I may have posted to the wrong topic, and I must have posted to the "original support topic" one. I don't know how to move my post so any moderator feel free to do this.

And if so, for the "Merged Patches" there are two esps "moveitLWT" and "Traps Make Noise" that will get merged. In Wrye Bash they appear with a cross inside their boxes afterwards (which I think means that the changes of the mods are merged in the bashed patch). In MO the two esps are deactivated automatically. Do we leave them like that? That's all. Sorry for the lengthy post and again thanks to all for this great project and community!
