MO stays locked after running Skyproc patchers
wolverine2710 replied to GSDFan's question in Mod Organizer Support
I haven't used Iobit uninstaller, I'm using the free 'revo uninstaller'. Works great, Its amazing how much cr*p is left behind by the normal windows uninstaller (add remove programs). Do you perhaps have used revo uninstaller also in the past and can you compare it with iobit uninstaller (great company with great free tools btw). Some tools are a bit limited and you need the payed version for extra functionality, BUT if you search for Iobit toolkit/toolbox you can have the extra functionality most of the time for free!! I good tool to uninstall Java is Javara of SinglularLabs, info about it can be found here. Saved my bacon a few times in the past. Ccleaner is a good tool, especially if used in combination with ccenhancer. System Ninja also is very good I've heard (never used it). Hmm, when looking for the urls I just realized that Javara, ccenhancer and system ninja are all created/released by SingularLabs ;-) -
SKYRIMLE LOOT v0.5.0 Beta 15 & MO
wolverine2710 replied to Kuldebar's question in Mod Organizer Support
As I've reported earlier I made the switch from BOSS to LOOT without problems. If you use a bashed patch.esp and skyproc its best to rebuild them. Regarding CTD's. Did you use the same sets of active esp's? Have a clean overwrite directory? I recently made a new profile for testing, with nothing active but the official DLC's (are in the regular I agree with the 'black box'. Afaik they haven't explained how the algorithm works, but I haven't checked ALL older thread on the LOOT forum. Why not ask them if they can shed some light on it, this would benefit us all and make it less of black box and users can try to check the load order to see if it all works as intended. Most of the stuff is done by a black box algorithm but if you look at the masterlist.yaml file you notice some things are placed at a certain point, mainly bashed patch.esp, skyproc stuff and pre and post reproccer esp stuff and a few esp's which needed some special placing. So far I made a few requests/questions and so far they were very helpful. Just my 2 eurocent.- 76 replies

Skyproc patchers no longer working
wolverine2710 replied to enneract's question in Mod Organizer Support
I've used cmd also in the past before I started using Free Commander. Sometimes the output of cmd is a bit strange, can't recall what aspect exactly. Tannin also recognized that. It was 2 years ago when Skyproc patchers like Automatic Variants didn't work with MO at that time. I contacted Tannin and he changed MO so it had skyproc support. FNIS just like Skyproc patchers can be kickstarted by MO, no need to put in into /data. Skyre and FNIS don't seem to play nice on your system though. I'm officially baffled and have to put my thinking hat on. Perhaps others have some idea? How did you add the skyproc executables? Easiest way is to go to the right pane, data tab, select reproccer.jar, right click and select add as executable. BUT as you have used MO before you probably know this. I think you are reaching very fast the point where it is best to contact Tannin himself, he can probably find out very quickly by looking at the log files what is going on. Haven't delved that deep into MO to interpret the log files myself. One last thing you could try: What happens when you install older versions of MO (just try a few), does it work then? -
Skyproc patchers no longer working
wolverine2710 replied to enneract's question in Mod Organizer Support
Please start Free Commander from MO and check the VFS. Its explained in the MO wiki section 'third party programs'. Please use and older version of FC like 2009 0.2b as the new FC XE does NOT work correctly with MO. When a program is kickstarted by MO it uses its VFS, that way you can see what skyproc patchers see with regard to the filing system. Please also read the VFS article on the MO wiki, you can find it here. Hopefully this will shed some led on your issue. I'm using MO 1.1.2 with reproccer and SUM myself. For fun, install MO fresh again (don't forget the NMM downgrade) in a new directory and check reproccer again, perhaps something went wrong with your upgrade. -
Mod Organizer and Skyre - Can it be installed?
wolverine2710 replied to Daemones's question in Mod Organizer Support
I'm using reproccer 2.5 (latest version) with MO and it works like a charm. As you are new to MO I highly suggest carefully reading the S.T.E.P. MO wiki. In the resources tab there is a 5+ videos listed, one of them "Mod Organizer an Advanced Guide" discusses MO and the use of skyproc patchers (automatic variants is discussed), others discuss Tes5Edit and Wrye Bash usage with MO. It is is good to understand how the 'overwrite' directory works and how to keep it clean. Essential is to understand how the virtual filing system of MO works, its discussed in the advanced tab of the MO wiki, you can find it here. Regarding overwrite, just search this thread, GSDFan has created a few posts in which he explains how to minimize files put into the overwrite directory. For skyproc patchers in general. The older ones uses the Skyproc framework created by Leviathan1753, his latest updates is more or less a year old is made before USKP etc started using fake/false esm files. When creating a patch skyproc does not take into account fake esm files and the masters aren't sorted correctly. This could give problems but you can use Tes5Edit to 'sort masters'. This is NOT limited to the use of MO as you will have the same problem when using NMM. You can find info by Arthmoor (author USKP) in the LOOT thread (successor of BOSS). As you started fresh I HIGHLY recommend using this instead of BOSS, no more unrecognized esp files, works like a charm (for me). You can find the LOOT thread here. The good news is that Dienne who created a skyproc patcher called Lootification has picked up the torch and is now the maintainer of Skyproc. Because Leviathan1753 (SUM, Automatic Variants, Skyproc) and Plutoman (ASIS and Realistic Lightning with Customization) have both been kidnapped by the Daedra prince Real Life. He is also the guy who released a new version of ASIS. His Skyproc version handles fake esm files correctly. His Skyproc thread can be found here. Skyproc when compiled is just a Java jar file called skyproc.jar which is used by skyproc patchers. When authors of skyproc patchers were using Leviathan's latest Skyproc version it means they can just use Dienne's skyproc.jar recompile the pathcer, release it and it will handle fake esm's correctly. At least the following patchers use his code and handle fake esm's: ASIS, Every Body is Different, ScrollProccer, there might by more. SUM is recommended when using multiple skyproc patchers, it does by default NOT create a sum.esp but you set it so. According to Leviathan1753 this feature is experimental, but multiple have reported that it works for them. I've contacted Dienne and we are currently investigating how Skyproc can be changed so that is more MO friendly, as in no files end up in the overwrite directory. We will also try to convince skyproc authors to use the new skyproc.jar so that fakes esm's are handled correctly. T;Dr: Read the MO wiki, read the MO thread and enjoy MO and reproccer. Should you have questions (preferable after a good RTFM (F is fine) feel free to ask them. -
In the original post 'Prisoner' provided his own solution. Created this new post so I could apply 'mark solved' to the thread. I've edited his original post and moved the 'solution' part to this post. Prisoner added to his original post: EDIT: It appears I fixed my own problem. By playing around with load mechanism I managed get MO to find skyrim again. Strangely enough trying same thing a while before had no results. Not sure what is going on or why this happened in the first place. (something to do with rehooking MO to skyrim because one of the dlls crashed? )

mod organizer issue : ASIS & Free Commander
wolverine2710 replied to whismerhill's question in Mod Organizer Support
Your welcome. I have to admit that 'left overs' (of ASIS) in overwrite is the first I see this mentioned. In the past I've used Automatic Variants all the time and I've experimented with ASIS, I never cleaned the overwrite directory (NOT best practice and now I know better) and never got an error. Is it reproducible, as in run ASIS once, it works, left overs in overwrite, rerun ASIS and an error occurs? Its the more strange because ASIS in principle only generates text files in overwrite and the ASIS.esp. Note: I nice trick which worked for and also for my skse plugins which updates logfiles. Once a reproccer.esp or logfile for skse is generated I move it to the mod it belongs to (reproccer, memory blocks log) and then rerun reproccer it ends up in the 'reproccer' mod or in case of MBL the logfile is updated in the MBL mod. Edit: it would be appreciated if you can create a ticket for FreeCommander XE. -
mod organizer issue : ASIS & Free Commander
wolverine2710 replied to whismerhill's question in Mod Organizer Support
Can you please create a ticket in the bug genie issue tracker for the issue with Free Commander XE, so that Tannin can have a look at it. Glad to see that MO works now. I don't have an answer why it now works but it has been reported in the past that reinstalling MO solved the problem for some users. If you installed MO 1.1.2 please do NOT forget the NMM downgrade. To quote Tannin from the OP "It seems the external installer bundled with 1.1.2 is kaput so please downgrade to the NCC version from 1.1.1, there is an optional file for that in the files section. Simply unpack to your mod organizer directory (you should be prompted to overwrite files, choose yes)." There a few things/tests you can do to get your original mod setup back. 1) Test: make a backup of modorganizer.ini and nxmhandler.ini somewhere and then start MO again. Does ASIS work now? The files are auto generated. You basically miss your username/password and some settings like your download directory should you have changed that. 2) Change: Should 1 not work install MO again in the existing MO directory. You can use the manual installer or the normal installer (in that case also install the NMM downgrade). 3) Change: Should 1 and 2 not work. Copy (or move if you no space left) the Profiles, mods and overwrite (best practice is to have it empty) to the new MO directory. Also the downloads directory if its still in the default place. If you have changed the categories there will be I believe a categories.dat file, copy that also. 4) Change: Should everything work now and you feel 'adventurous' you can also copy the backupped two ini files to the new MO directory (make backup first of current new MO ini's.) Note: I noticed in the past (older version I believe) that on my system the MO/webcache directory wasn't relative to MO but had an absolute path. Unless I've made a mistake and forgot something the above should work. PS. I have edited (added colours) your post so its a bit clearer. -
Glad to see its solved. Curious about the 'though I do miss at least one thing from bash'. What thing(s) do you miss?

mod organizer issue : ASIS & Free Commander
wolverine2710 replied to whismerhill's question in Mod Organizer Support
Dienne who is the current maintainer of Skyproc and ASIS (which uses Skyproc internally) also uses MO. Hence he can probably help you best. As in interpret the debug logs and perhaps add a more specific error message. My first reaction was that is a ASIS problem because reproccer (also uses Skyproc internally) runs correctly. Note: reproccer uses Leviathans older skyproc version and ASIS uses Dienne's Skyproc version. But the lot is clouded a bit with what you said about Free Commander XE. Couldn't find an XS version, perhaps a typo? I'm using Free Commander 2009 0.2b (NOT XE). To test your findings I installed Free Commander XE portable 'download 2014 build' (zip version) because I didn't want to mess up my existing FC. Kickstarted it from MO and moved to the /data directory. I saw the contents of the VFS and moved to the Skyproc Patchers directory, all seemed fine. Moved to and moved then back to /data. NOW I did NOT see the VFS content but only the regular /data directory. Stopped FC XE, did the same and could reproduce it. Also one time FC XE stopped with an error and two times after quitting FC XE MO's 'unlock' message did not disappear. Reason: FC XE was still running. Had to use task manager to quit it. Summary: FC XE portable and MO do NOT play nice together (on my system). I've been able to find my version back on the internet, here. Check: Can you please check if peforms ASIS is not also installed in the regular /data directory? If so please remove it. Lets now try to concentrate on MO and try the following: 1) Disable USKP in the left pane and run ASIS again. Does the error persist? 2) Should the error persist please install ASIS in the regular /data directory and run it from there - NOT from MO. As the DLC's etc are in the regular /data directory you now have the same situation as in MO. Does it run now? You could also install USKP in the regular /data directory but I don't want to clutter it. 3) Should it now run correctly, now add ASIS as an executable to MO and run it from MO? Does it still work?. Note: The moment you use more then one skyproc patcher you should be using SUM otherwise things get complicated. If you already use SUM currently, please try to start ASIS from MO and not from SUM, does it work then?. You can run into problems when starting Skyrim but at least you can narrow down things... Another thing you can to make sure MO is not somehow borked. Install MO again in a new directory and install ASIS and USKP there and run it again. Does the error still persist? Note: should it now work I can help your with instructions how to get your mods/downloads installed in the old MO back into the new MO. Basically you have to do some work, invest time and do a lot of tests, can't iterate them all here (already a wall of text). Please report back your findings. As mentioned before Dienne is in the ideal situation to help you further should it NOT be a MO problem and even if its a MO related problem. This is all I can do for you at the moment. -
I need some information and perhaps you all can help, have already contacted Tannin but he's been unable to answer up to this point, probably extremely busy. The overwrite tab in the MO wiki does not help me really further. To keep it simple. Its a well know fact that files created by a skyproc patcher end up in the overwrite directory instead of for example in reproccer or EBD. This is because of the way files are created/updated. Leviathan1753 who created skyproc and automatic variants and plutoman who created RLWC and ASIS have been kidnapped by the Daedra prince Real Life. Dienes who also created Lootification (skyproc patcher) has stepped in, he has enhanced Skyproc further and also created the latest ASIS version. His Skyproc version and thread can be found here. He also uses MO and I've contacted him if he would be willing to change Skyproc so that the files created by Skyproc do NOT end up in the overwrite directory each time a skyproc patcher is run. For this he needs more information, like how to create/update files (in Java). If anyone has more information this would be appreciated. The definitive answer ofc comes from Tannin but like I said he hasn't been able to answer yet.

Overwrite (TES5Edit, SKSE, meshes)
wolverine2710 replied to Sarou89's question in Mod Organizer Support
I've searched this forum looking for 'tri' and found two threads. Thread one and thread two. Pointed to the relevant post in the threads. It also contains a comment of I believe the author of Racemenu: I hope this answers your question. Perhaps best to create a ticket for it in the bug genie tracker so Tannin can have a look at it. Otherwise the issue is bound be snowed under here. -
CK doesn't see mods installed in Mod Organizer
wolverine2710 replied to ipmlj's question in Mod Organizer Support
Iirc there was a ticket in the bug genie issue tracker of MO with a similar problem. Tannin provided a workaround there. Also pretty sure it was discussed here and or in the Nexus forum at some point. I know needle/haystack. I've limited time atm and haven't been able to find it back with a fast search. When working with scripts please have a look at the MO wiki, tab 'third party programs'. I apologize for not being able to provide you with a real answer, but I hope this info points you in the correct direction. Should you find the information, please update this thread. Afterwards I will put it on the wiki or my 'stuff to put on the wiki' thread. -

Iirc for most suggestions there already is a ticket in the issue tracker. Please check that before creating a new one. I agree with a visual indicator (flag) for hidden files. When you hide a file the filename is extended with the the extension .mohidden. I use a search program (search everything which is EXTREMELY fast ) which I point to the /mods directory to look them up. As a mod in MO is nothing more then a directory in /mods you can very conveniently find mods with hidden files. By removing the .mohidden extension its again visible (included in the VFS) Esp/esm files can be hidden (excluded from the virtual filing system as well). You could use 'hide' for this as well but I use the 'optional esp's' tab (information window by double clicking a mod) for that. When you make an esp/esm file 'optional' for a mod a directory called optional is created in the /mods/ directory and the esp/esm is put there. I just search for directories called optional to find them back.

"Sort" Feature in MO not working (BOSS won't autosort my Mods)
wolverine2710 replied to greensbr's question in Mod Organizer Support
Iirc the switched from https://code.google.com/ to github and it was announced on the BOSS thread that the repository (which also contains the masterlist for BOSS) would be removed on the 31th of March. This explains why the internal BOSS (sort button) in MO (which used the API of BOSS) did work but does not work any longer. LOOT 0.50 has been released this week. I also switched this week from BOSS to LOOT. MY experiences with LOOT can be found here. NOT going back to BOSS ever..... @DoubleYou. You wrote "Tannin is now developing integration with LOOT, but that isn't completed yet." I didn't contact Tannin but perhaps you can share what you know. Very curious how he plans to do this. Iirc from the LOOT thread there isn't an API and also there won't be. The LOOT team does not want ppl to blindlingly trust the outcome of LOOT. As in a sort button in for example MO or NMM but actually start LOOT themselves. LOOT has a very nice feature which I missed but is described in the link I mentioned before.- 7 replies

SKYRIMLE LOOT v0.5.0 Beta 15 & MO
wolverine2710 replied to Kuldebar's question in Mod Organizer Support
Been using it for 4 days now. Started with LOOT 0.50 and used BOSS 2.20 before. Although its officially recommended by LOOT to start with a new game (if you were using BOSS before) I decided to switch from BOSS to LOOT with my current save. With the BOSS load order it was stable and with the LOOT it is ALSO stable. I'm using it in combination with Mod Organizer (MO). As with the external BOSS 2.20 you have to start LOOT from MO. I decided to switch from BOSS to LOOT because BOSS has a big backlog of mods (3000+ I believe) and I had to create 15 rules in my userlist. With the recent Audio Sound Overhaul and other mods this had grown to 22+. As I LACK the knowledge to know where exactly to put mods not recognized by BOSS this was bound to cause problems in the long run. LOOT works like a charm and they are very open to suggestions for features and implement new rules if needed. The masterlist.yaml is VERY clean. LOOT basically does everything by an algorithm. New rules are only needed to help LOOT a bit, stuff like reproccer and other dynamic plugins like skyproc based patchers. Sometimes a new rule is needed/added because of a specific requirement by a mod author and the LOOT algorithm does not catch that one. My RTFM-fu failed me and I missed a nice feature. After 'sorting' you have the option to check mods and select 'show conflicts only'. That way is you suspect LOOT missed something you can find out very quickly. TLDR:Switches from BOSS to LOOT and I'm having a stable Skyrim version as before. Brilliant tool. HIGHLY recommended to give it a try. Unrecognized mods as with BOSS is something of the past. wanted Multi-Tag Search (with 'AND' functionality)
wolverine2710 replied to wolverine2710's question in Forum Support
It seems the spanish vino was not out of my system yet as I did not find it. My bad. -
Thanks Z. Now that I know of this functionality I will request more if I other missing acronyms. Really a great feature.
-
I've tested it in the 'test' forum. MO (mod organizer), VFS (virtual filing system) and SkyUI have no acronyms defined atm. Is there a way to find out what acronyms are defined atm?
-
Under "Advanced Search", there is a multi-tag search form field for searching by multiple tags; however, it uses implicit 'OR' functionality only. There is a request for added functionality withing the Advanced Tags plugin (which we use here). ~z I've looked at the advanced search but can't seem to find a way to search for a specific tag. What does work is to select a certain thread with a specific tag and then I get all threads with that specific tag. But this is limited to one tag. I think Z said its not possible to search for a specific tag but just wanted to make sure.
