Totally of topic but it makes my life a bit difficult. Noticed it last week and now again. Normally 'quote' (select message and click quote button) works BUT when I'm the last one who has responded in this forum and AFTER that I use quote that 'quoted' post and my response shows up in my last post. NOT as a new post which only has the quoted post I selected and my text. Has anybody else noticed the same thing or can replicate it.Â

@Deathwing514. Your post "MAJOR BUG REPORT (SOLVED)". You have it solved which is nice. I'm writing this here so perhaps other ppl can benefit also. I saw your post in the MO forum and user Raygereio provided the following very interesting link: https://pastebin.com/FNLbr9qE. It discusses the problem AND a solution (also for MO users). A snippet from it: "There is also the more common problem where you can't absorb any souls. This is either due to an incompatibility issue between certain mods and the Dragonborn DLC, or a flatout broken mod." If you are using MO and have all mods in MO the /data directory is virgin. Hence when you start Skyrim normally you have a virgin Skyrim and have no mods installed. Hence I can imagine it then worked for you. My experiences with dragon souls: With 0.99.x I have installed 499 mods (not all active) and have DG and DB DLC's installed. Load order solved by BOSS/BUM, WB for a bashed patch. Started a new game a few weeks back and in there the first dragon I encountered DID gave me his soul. So I could NOT replicate your problem. Only lvl 10 atm and have not encountered any more dragons. Normally updating is safe. I did this multiple times by copying contents new MO zip into the MO directory. A fail safe method is provided by Vuud in the MO forum. Did you by any change use the 1.0 RC1 installer instead of the above method? Iirc at least one user had problems with the installer. So perhaps that installer has a small issue.

An alternative is to hit F2 when in the priority field. The right click method was implemented in the past but has been removed. Reason: Keeping the right click menu clean and uncluttered. Remark: I believe that when you have selected multiple mods the double click/F2 method only works on one mod (not behind MO PC atm). That would be nice addition and a likely candidate for an 'enhancement ticket'. When you have 499 mods like the left pane gets rather large and makes drag&drop a bit less easy because of the scrolling (yes, I'm impatient).

Well actually it is NOT the 1.0 release. To quote Tannin (creator of MO): Your problems are most likely because of the following, from the OP of MO: Since the latest beta MO 0.99.6 and the 1.0 RC1 quite a few new (exiting) changes have been introduced, see changes button on OP of MO or the MO forum. Its imho now the task of everybody using MO to switch to the RC1 version, put it on the rack and torture test it, and report issues to the issue tracker. IF issues are found they can be fixed by Tannin and a RC2 can be released. Then the cycle repeats till the latest RC does not have any issues reported. At that time Tannin can relabel it 1.0. THEN the 1.0 version is out....

You seem to have missed what I told Thunderclam in a post from yesterday. My opnion: Upgrade to 0.99.6 and enjoy the new features. Make a backup of relevant MO ini/cfg/profiles files/directories before doing that is good practice (as is making daily backups, its NOT much data). Vuud has also explained how to do that in detail in the MO forum. For me 0.99.6 is (even) more stable then 0.12.9.That part, yes, a thousand times, yes. 0.99.6 has been great for both Skyrim and FNV, very stable. All I need now is for it to start 64-bit binaries so I can get NMM to run those Gopher mods for FNV that use those installers for OneHUD and UnifiedHUD. Maybe there is a way to write a plugin for it, but I'm sure it's in C# or C++, either that or find a way to get NMM to install 32-bit version. Not into .Net and such (make a living as a Java programmer) but perhaps similar to Java you are able to install a 32 bits .Net on your 64 bits machine and then install NMM in such a way that it uses that one. BUT your are in luck it seems. In the MO forum there recently was a discussion about FONV and mods like OneHud, Uhud etc.You can use FOMM to do that in combination with a fake FONV setup. See for more details the post by GsdFan date/time: posted @ 12:58, 7 Sep 2013. Also you use the search keyword 'fake' to will find similar ones but then for a fake Skyrim install in combination with NMM. Its from this year. Just click 'view forum thread' and then search the whole forum in one go. Tannin was first going to use easyhook (just google it) which would potentially have made 64 bits support possible. But he had concerns about the speed of it. So instead he decided to go for a 1.0 release and plugins. Perhaps after a 1.0 release he will (re)consider it again. 0.99.6 is really shaping up. The bugfixes list with every release seems to shrink. Now a 99.5% correct working NMM importer and the NMM users can migrate easy and live in a better modding world...... An alternative for a fake FONV setup would be the implementation of the holy grail for MO. As in during installing a mod it sees the other installed mods and their contents. BUT for that he has to do a major of the external fomod installer (NCC) and/or the default internal fomod installer. But I don't see that happen soon because its not really that needed for Skyrim. SkyUI gives an warning during install that skse is missing and with another you have to manually which mods you have installed (normally it can detect them automatically). But that is it I think. Hope this helps a bit.

A failsafe update method can be found in the MO forum, courtesy of Vuud. What normally works is just copy the contents of the zipfile for the new MO version into the existing directory. This failed for me once, but that issue was also solved by 0.99.6. The 'changes' button on the OP of MO and forum describes exactly what has been changed. If you want to know the details just look for the posts of the last 3-5 days. That's more efficient then to repeat it here. Nothing has changed. In 0.99.x only a warning is now shown as a reminder. I have to admit I would like to being able to 'silence' that warning. So that after one has Python installed it ONLY turns red when a real problem has occurred. Well, for that you can add an enhancement ticket in MO's issue tracker ;-) Note: I tried it three times but normal quoting always results in the post being added to the last post I created. Suboptimal.....

For starters, did think this forum was less 'lively' as it turned out to be. Overwrite directory: A mod is installed in the /mods/ directory. When the contents of that mod is changed it ends up in the overwrite directory. Skyproc based programs like AV, Asis after running a patch create an .esp file, this will end up here. Same for a bashed patch.esp and files you have cleaned with Tes5Edit. It good practice to put them back to the original mod directory, but it can't hurt. I've never done it though... The overwrite directory if no filter is set is always shown at the bottom of the left pane. Double clicking shows you the contents and you can manipulate the files. Python: MO is open source and the goal of Tannin is to make it possible for others to create new functionality and/or enhance existing functionality. For that a large portion of MO is controlled by plugins. This is new for the 0.99 series. MO was written in C++, to make it better accessible for the community he added Python as a programming language for the plugin. Note: Wrye Bash is written in Python. Atm all plugins are written in C++ except for the 'Configurator' plugin. To quote Tannin "Regarding the configurator plugin: This is supposed to eventually take the place of the ini editor. It basically lets you configure the game (skyrim.ini and skyrimprefs.ini) in a more friendly way.". The exclamation mark tells you Python is missing and what to do to fix it. It will show the download page for it. Download and install the 32 bits version of Python 2.7.x, current is 2.7.5. NOT the 3.x series as that is NOT backwards compatible. After installing you will under 'Tools' the configurator. Looks promising. Edit: The MO forum of course is the place to be. The community there knows quite a bit of tricks...

I would definitely upgrade from 0.99.1 to 0.99.6. Lots of bugs are ironed out. Especially with regard to installing mods. I was not clear enough. Afaik there is only 1 version in development. There will be NO 0.12.10. The next stable version will be 1.0. This will come from the 0.99.x branche.

Let me try to explain it. In MO every directory in the /mods directory is considered a mod. Upon startup MO reads this /mods directory. Its atm not posible to create horizontal lines in MO. You can do this with a trick. Create for example a ==== STEP 2.B ===== directory in the mods directory. Let call this mod "horizontal line" Now at startup (or refreshing the left pane) MO recognizes a new mod called "horizontal line". MO also does some checks to see if this 'mod' is a real mod, as in has textures etc in it. As it is empty it will give an error sign. To prevent that create in this mod/directory some valid data as I've explained. Anyway I advice to upgrade to 0.99.6, so you can use method 2. MO 0.99.6 is more stable (for me) and has quite a few extra things. Hope this helps. Feel free to visit the MO foum as well.

Your welcome. Nexus user UhuruNUru pointed me to this STEP MO thread. As I happen to like MO a wee bit its entirely possible this won't my last post here.

To get rid of that red icon (I don't like it)Â you can do two things. The red cross means 'no valid game data'. As in no textues/meshes etc found. Just create a Textures directory inside the 'mod' and in here create an empty .dds file. Eg hl_wolverine.dds. You can make this as fancy as you want with subdirs, .dds corresponding to the horizontal line you created etc...Update to the 0.99.x series, current version 0.99.6. Select the 'mod', right click and select 'ignore missing data'.

Basically afaik 0.12.9 is and will be the last stable version in the MO 0.12.x series. The next stable version will be a 1.0 release. MO 0.99.x basically is the beta (and later RC) for 1.0. In the current 0.99.x series there won't be introduced any (new) major changes. The 0.99.x however is quite different then 0.12.9. Lots of functionality has been converted to plugin. It now also support plugins written in Python instead of C++. MO is open source (most of it is GPL 3 I believe). Tannin hopes this will encourage other ppl to add/change plugins. In addition to that a slew of smaller changes have been added to give the UI a more coherent, a user called it a more 'elegant' feel. See changes on MO mod page. The current 0.99.6 version is for me even more stable then 0.12.9. Hope this explains it a bit. Edit: it was supposed to be a reply for thunderclam but I made a mistake - new to this interface.
