You have piqued my interest in Nvidia 3D again, so i have broken out the old hardware and will give this another try. I may have just been doing it wrong.

I like my 27in acer gsync and when it is next to my 24in monitors it is hard to imagine that I liked playing on them. They are all still 1080, but the size of the 27 makes everything clearer and more readable. There is also a noticeable increase in brightness over my other monitors. I even had to turn it down some to get it to a comfortable level, whereas I was maxing out the other monitors brightness. Now I know why the dungeons in Skyrim dark. I spent quite a lot of time trying mods to get the dungeons lighter, now I might have to try to darken them again.

I dabbled with 3d first gen in Skyrim and was not impressed. The shadows do not look right and other anomalies. There were some ini tweaks to do, but I don’t remember them. There was a Fix going around and there is one based on it on the Nexus called 3D Vision Complete Compatibility Project. The only thing is that it uses a d3d9.dll which is not compatible with ENB. I just upgraded to the Acer XB270H Abprz gsync monitor and I like it. Gsync 144hz makes a difference in games I have tried with the exception of Skyrim. You have to limit the FPS or you will suffer the physics bug, but it is still an improvement when you have the game tuned right. Just a note here, if 3d vision is enabled gsync gets disabled.

Nvidia Inspector settings are not enabled via Mod Organizer
GSDFan replied to aloot's question in General Skyrim LE Support
When the game launches external to MO it uses the configuration files from My Documents\My Games\falloutnv. When the game is launched from MO it uses the configuration files from the active profile located in ModOrganizer\profiles. It sounds like you are using two different sets of configuration files. You have to verify that both are the same in order troubleshoot this. When you launch the game from the game launcher inside of MO you will not get any benefits from NVSE or the 4GB launcher. They just do not load this way. I believe you will not see FalloutMO.exe in task manager. This workaround was done to get the 4gb to launch and as you cannot have two files in a directory with the same name the modified, hooked, file had to have a different name. I believe that 4Gb still presents the correct game name in order for everything to work otherwise Steam, MO and other tools would throw a fit. I am not entirly sure on this point though. Again I make sure that the active profile configuration files match the ones in the vanilla folder. At time we get frustrated also. It is not easy to troubleshoot something when you are not in front of the thing that is broken. -
Deactivated mods in merge patch tip
GSDFan replied to GrantSP's topic in Fear & Loathing in New Vegas
When I am in xEdit after doing the merge, I Click on the File Header and double click on the SNAM Description and copy the merged plugins from the window and paste that into the note also. It helps me to remember which ESPs I moved to the optional section of othe mods. -

I restored the original to my mod and cleaned a second time the same version of xEdit. -
Loss of mouse cursor and main menu after cleaning FalloutNV esms
GSDFan replied to GrantSP's question in General Skyrim LE Support
I don't remember this happening to me with fallout, but it happened to me once with Skyrim. I attribute to random bit rot when cleaning. I now keep my cleaned game files backed up as a mod to install in the game. I don't think that the game developer will ever update them anyway. -
The upgrade will not overwrite any of the profiles and the files they contain as well as ModOrganizer.ini and categories.dat. You can zip these as a precaution in case anything happens and extract them to get back to the point they were saved.

Quote from the Steam in home streaming page: "PLAY YOUR GAMES ANYWHERE IN YOUR HOME WITH STEAM IN-HOME STREAMING When you log into Steam on two computers on the same network, they automatically connect, allowing you to remotely install, launch, and play games as though you were sitting at the remote PC." Unfortunately the UI in MO will not work when it is streamed this way. There are some hacks out there like adding notepad.exe as an non-Steam game and streaming that. When it launches, hitting F1 will allow you to see the remote desktop, where you can launch any program you want. You can create an SKSE shortcut from MO to the desktop and run skyrim that way.

Game opens in small border-less window in top left of screen?
GSDFan replied to TheDongFather's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Run the Skyrim launcher from the active profile and make sure that windowed is not checked and your resolution is set to what your native monitor resolution. -
You can start Skyrim on the host computer through MO and then go to the streaming computer and select the stream option. This will start the stream on the remote computer from whatever screen in on the host. Do not expect a very enjoyable experience on a heavily modded game. I was hovering around 16fps when I tried this on my setup.

In the Fomod plugin settings make sure that enabled is true and prefer is false. The Amb creatures mod is scripted and that picture looks like there is no other data in the archive. There should be a host of folders in there. Check the archive with winzip or winrar to see. If there aren't any other folders then redownload the mod again.

I don't think the nvidia control panel touches any game ini files. It works on the driver level. I have set up adaptive vsync when I ran my monitor on 60Hz and as I had a 120Hz and now a 144Hz monitor I set the refresh rate to teste the adaptive half refresh rate also and both seem to work. In the little testing I did I did not get any of the game physics bugs, but ymmv and Frapps showed varying rates that were above the half refresh rate. What I need to know is how to properly set up GSync for the game.

Stuttering and fps drops in open world
GSDFan replied to ammus's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Better, now you can put them into the proper order from the STEP guide. I do not have what you have, but it should look something like the attached photo and with MO the ESPs in the right pane with the broom icon do not need to be check. -
Stuttering and fps drops in open world
GSDFan replied to ammus's question in General Skyrim LE Support
The xx.opt textures are redundant, grey lightening bolt, they look to be before the corresponding unmanaged ESMs. The left pane should be sorted by priority and you can then see what is overwriting what. Most of the unmanaged stuff should be near the top so that the mods you install will overwrite them. -
DimmDrive and Mod Organizer
GSDFan replied to thetommartowseries's question in Mod Organizer Support
Just trying to determine if a side by side file comparison had any differences. That would show DD chocked on something. The MO VFS is built after the fact when an application that needs to see the data directory is run. Dimmdrive shouldn't need to see that, it is in essence a drive. It only needs to hold all the data. Running DD from MO may also introduce other problems. MO will hook the DD process and lock files. If DD is not shut down they will not be released. Locked files can lead to growing log file size and possible access to locked files when needed. Early on we had this problem when a web page was opened from MO and you did not close the browser for a while. -

I have win 8.1 with MO 1.2.17. So when you build a DD outside of MO can you see all of the files in Windows file explorer and the DD? Another question, is MO inside the Skyrim folder and do you have the skyrim data folder included the DD? @thetommartowseries, nice catch. Aremann did you see that? -
DimmDrive and Mod Organizer
GSDFan replied to thetommartowseries's question in Mod Organizer Support
Thanks, Tim, the author of DD has apparently put a lot of thought into DD with all of the features it has. I can't for the life of me figure out why mine works and your and the OP don't. What version of Windows, MO are you using? -
DimmDrive and Mod Organizer
GSDFan replied to thetommartowseries's question in Mod Organizer Support
You are running DD from MO? Why would you do that? Do your modding from MO without DD running and only use DD, launched external to MO, when you want to play the game. Use DD to rebuild the ram drive new each time you want to play the game. This way all the files you select will be copied to the ram drive and the will be fresh. I have not seen any problems running it this way. I am lucky enough to have a large amount of ram to play with so I can DD the whole Skyrim folder along with MO, about 50gb of data. Not seeing much difference as Skyrim is on an SSD. I was only doing this as a test and to try to answer questions about MO/ DD interactions. Can you give me some specifics? like where Skyrim is install. MO is installed. How much ram you have. How big DD is, what files / folders are selected. method used to do this - More Ram or less ram options. With this info and my own experiences I can try to put together a guide. -

When you set up the DimDrive, did you select the main MO Mods folder or the individual mods? I do not see anything like the third picture. -

DimmDrive and Mod Organizer
GSDFan replied to thetommartowseries's question in Mod Organizer Support
@GrantSP, Dimdrive allows those of us that spent the money on copious amounts memory to spend even more money to make use of said memory. I can afford a 50 GB ram drive and still have 15 GB left for the system. @thetommartowseries, sorry to say I could not reproduce your problem. I would try redoing your DD over again. I also would not actively mod the game in DD, just run the game from it. I would also ask if you had MO running while DD was doing its thing. Maybe MO caught the Symlinks being created. -
On top of all of that it looks like only three backups of each are being kept. If you press the buttons three times then the one you need from yesterday will be gone.

They are stored in the active profile that the button was pressed in and look like loadorder.txt.2015_01_16_11_49_57, lockedorder.txt.2015_01_16_11_49_57, modlist.txt.2015_01_16_11_49_59 and plugins.txt.2015_01_16_11_49_57.
