  1. Ohmigosh I love you! So it was partly a dumb moment because I had read that several times in several places while educating myself on how all this stuff works and I just forgot lol. However! For some reason, it makes more sense now with the way you explained it. I think it'll stick this time! Thanks!!
  2. This might be dumb of me (I'm having a lot of dumb moments today) but I noticed that some mods are overwriting other mods even though those other mods were installed later. For example, one of the unofficial patches (STEP 2.D) overwriting a texture from farther down the list (like ruins clutter improved in STEP 2.F). - I thought any install that comes later would automatically overwrite earlier installs, so why is this happening? - Is there a way to change which files are being overwritten? For the most part, I like MO better than NMM but one thing I liked a LOT about NMM is that it always warned you before overwriting something and gave you the option of accepting it or declining it. .. there was a question attached to that thought but I've forgotten it now so I'll ask later if/when I remember. Thanks!
  3. Is the hit to FPS the reason this mod is not recommended as part of STEP? Because the trees and rocks popping in just ruins the game for me... Much more than the poor textures or lighting that so many of the STEP mods address. I haven't actually tried this mod yet. I'll update when I have.
  4. I know this is a wee bit off topic, but how do I check log errors? I see people making reference to them all the time and I have no idea what they're talking about... but it sounds very useful.
  5. I read on Skyrim Project Stability that this mod may be unsafe to use. On a scale of 1 to 5, 5 being most risky, they gave it a 4 because the script is constantly updating and (can) cause papyrus script stress. I don't really understand what that means. They also said "Safe with small load orders, sometimes". (This wasn't just for Cold and Wet, they listed several but this is the mod I'm interested in). Can anyone tell me what is considered a "small" load order? Or tell me more about Skyrim Project Stability as it relates to this? Or really just any thoughts on this at all. I'd like to use Cold and Wet and I'm going to for now anyway because it's awesome but I'd love some other peoples thoughts on this if that's possible. I haven't heard from anyone else that it causes problems; I suppose if it does I'll have to deal with it then. (Sorry if this isn't the correct place for this post)
  6. I have used this mod for a very long time. So far, I have not had any problems but until very recently my understanding of how mods can effect the game has been exceedingly limited. Despite this, I felt it would be worth it to add my two cents, considering there is only one post so far and others may come along in the future and wish to know a little more. Here is what I have noticed: CTDs: During the entire time I've played Skyrim (almost 600 hours) I have had very very few crashes to desktop and that did not seem to change after installing Dynamic Merchants. Lag and Freezing: I have not had any significant lag. My game froze once recently and before that, I can't recall if it ever did. There is no reason to believe the freeze had anything to do with Dynamic Merchants. Save Bloat: I haven't noticed. I don't really understand much about what types of mods can cause that (I'm still learning). If this has been occurring, I haven't seen it. Load time has been, for the most part, the same or at least reasonable. A while back, there were a few times I remember thinking it was taking a long time to load but I believe that was before I had this mod. Now that I am aware of save bloating and some of the problems it can cause, I will keep an eye out for it and update this post if I ever come to the conclusion that this mod causes it. I really really doubt that it does though. Misc Glitching: I have not experienced any glitches that have recurred, nor have I had any glitches that stood out as possibly being related. I have noticed the decay rate is a little high for my liking also. It required that I have a couple primary merchants or that I run around to merchants all over the map in order to sell all my loot. Overall, I love this mod even with the high decay rate. If the way merchants work in the vanilla game just really gets to you (as it did me), this is not a bad mod to use.
