  1. Immersive Settlements looks like a must-have mod in the making, though. Dang.
  2. So with SMIM already installed via MO, is it advised to go into the filetree and take out stuff like lanterns or the Soul Cairn bone piles manually?
  3. I'm not sure I understand the difference between MO 99.1 (which I have) and MO 12.9 and why there are these two seemingly separate versions following their own development iterations. Can someone explain this to me?
  4. I'd love to know about this too, since I plan to use Immersive Patrols and Inconsequential NPCs at the very least!
  5. Okay so I looked in my tower and it's a 6950. :P
  6. I'm not intending to buy a new card for a bit yet. I want to put another $500 into my computer in the next 6 months or so (SSD and new GPU) but it has to wait on a big trip I have planned unless lucky windfall. It seems strange to me that I have to download programs to figure out what model of Vcard I have.
  7. I am. I should have said that the mods downloaded/installed via MO are in MO's folder. Others are archives and such from before I started using MO. I have kept some that have to be installed manually and have not been updated in a while so that I can re-use them if I want with MO. Does that make sense?
  8. I thought you were never, ever supposed to turn Skyrim's v-sync off? I would like to fix this bug too but I'm still learning about ENBs as I go through the SR process.
  9. BUM is installed to program files. As is Steam and all the "core" Skyrim files. I have my other Skyrim files, including utilities and mods in a separate "Skyrim Mods" folder on my desktop.
  10. My card is 2gb according to SPM but I don't know why I always see stuff like "6950" but never "6900 series". Makes me feel like I'm missing something. I have 8gb of system ram. It seems like I have a low or medium high end card but I don't know. Maybe it's really low end! Sets Skyrim to Ultra automatically.
  11. Thanks. I'll give you three-fiddy for a guide on initial setup for BUM. I don't wanna make a mistake! EDIT: OOoooh looks like Nearox came to my rescue.
  12. A mod can label this SOLVED as Neovalen let me know that you always have to do the initial set up. Does anyone know where I can find a setup guide for Boss Userlist Manager? I've looked but I can't seem to find one.
  13. I have an AMD Radeon HD 6900 series. I don't see it on the list in that link and have been sort of struggling to find solid info about where it stands. I imagine it's close to a 6950 but I've been able to run Skyrim below limit with unoptimized, heavy-duty textures for at least limited periods of time. This was before I knew about texture optimization and the hard 3.1gb CPU limit and so on. It'd be sort of nice to get some guidance about how carefully I should be watching the sizes of my textures if at all possible.
  14. If you can toss up any information later on, that's fine. I'm still slowly working my way through downloading and installing the mods you've listed. I think it's safe to use BUM to sort your patches later on? I may try to install BUM through sheer common sense in the meantime. Haha.
  15. Oh crap. I assumed from the lack of extra instructions in your SR guide that it auto-detected whatever settings MO was using. I guess you assumed familiarity with basic BUM setup. D'oh! So in this case, is there a guide for initial setup? I am still not sure how to configure it. I may be a little overcautious haha.
  16. Hi Neovalen. I thought about that but this is also my first time using BUM so I'm not sure what to put in the blanks I have in Masterlist Path and Boss Program. I am also not sure what "User Game" is. It autodetects Skyrim and it autodetects my mod path (Program Files (x86)/Steam/Steamapps/common/skyrim/data) but I'm not sure if this is correct either. So far, it's not a big deal but I'm sure it'll be more important as I add more of your compatibility patches. Does it have anything to do with my MO version?
  17. Hi. I'm currently in the early stages of trying for a Skyrim Revisited install. I posted about this in the general troubleshooting area before noticing this subforum (my bad!) but I have an issue with BUM in that it doesn't seem to autodetect my MO settings or whatnot when I launch it. I do launch BUM through MO and that works fine, but it gives me a bunch of setup options SR has no instructions for. I am running MO 0.99.1 and am not sure if this is the issue or not. The nexus forum for the mod indicates that 0.99.3 is buggy and I need to look at how to upgrade anyway (this is my first time using the program). I am also not clear on the difference between MO 0.99.1/2/3 and the 0.12.9 versions.
  18. This mod seems to be installed BEFORE ENB as per Skyrim Revisited's installation order so I guess it's inconsequential that ENB isn't installed until later. Thanks, Rootsrat. Now if only I can get BUM working as it's supposed to... :P
  19. I am following Skyrim Revisited and went to install Skyrim Particle Patch for ENB via Mod Organizer. I get the "no game data on top level" message. There's a data folder with two subfolders: meshes and textures. As per advice about this being an "improperly packaged mod", I pulled the textures folder out so that it is no longer a subfolder and got the "Looks Good" message. I did not complete installation for 2 reasons: 1. Neovalen didn't include any special installation instructions in SR which he normally does for mods that have extra steps or issues. 2. I have not installed ENB yet (I think that comes later in the SR process) and wasn't sure if Neovalen intended this mod to be downloaded now and installed later. Obviously, I don't have much information on this particular mod and I don't want to install it without knowing for sure what I'm doing. Trying to be cautious. EDIT: It also seems like right-clicking the Data folder and setting it as data directory clears the error message and gives me the "Looks good" message. Intuition tells me that this is what I'm supposed to do but again, I want to make triple sure before I install the mod. Thanks!
  20. My Boss Userlist Manager is installed to Program Files (x86). I properly selected the .exe for the binary and when I run BUM, as per the Skyrim Revisited guide (doing the General Patch portion), I get a bunch of initial setup options I don't really understand. I looked for further guidance on the wiki, forums, and google and can't figure out what the issue is. As far as I know, it's supposed to autodetect my mod path, masterlist path, and BOSS Program but it doesn't seem to be doing that except for the mod path, which is C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\skyrim\Data\ (this doesn't seem right either). Any help for this?
  21. Okay sounds good. I did have an issue when testing the optimized textures w/ MO where I hadn't checked off the .bsa files in the archives tab. Took me a while to figure out and I tried TESV.exe once to see if it would run. Is that going to cause me problems later?
  22. Okay, that all helps! I always thought ENB was just for taking screenshots and never used it myself. I've always gotten by with a combo of RCRN and ELFX (since they exited, anyway). To clarify your last sentence: running the game in windowed mode w/ ENB may cause conflicts, crashes, ILS? Windows=Windowed? Also, would I simply turn windowed mode off by running TESV.exe through Steam or is there another way you're supposed to do it because of Mod Organizer?
  23. Hi. I'm new to the community but have been half-following STEP for a while now. I noticed Neovalen's super helpful "Skyrim Revisited" guide and have learned to use new tools (MO and DDSopt for two) while following the first part of it. I am at the point where it's time to start adding mods. Thankfully, most of my favorites are covered in his guide so this post isn't about that. I have a few questions about some of the instructions in Revisited: -What role does ENB play? -Why did I turn AA off? -Why am I setting Skyrim to Windowed Mode? In addition, I was hoping someone could give me some advice about Z-fighting and shimmering shadows from trees and grass. Right now I have the default .ini settings and ONLY the optimized textures (and SKSE) covered from Skyrim Revisited "basic" (as I'm calling it in my MO profiles). My hardware is: Intel i5-2500k @3.30 GHZ (4 CPUs) 8192 DDR3 RAM AMD Radeon 6900M Series GPU (2gb VRAM) And unfortunately, a conventional 2TB HDD. I think my problem is my drivers. I am running the most up to date CCC version and had not been playing Skyrim since about last February. There has definitely been at least 1 update since then, not sure if there were more. I don't know whether the Z-fighting is Skyrim or the graphics card, but it's only been a problem since around 1.7 or so (best guess) or possible since x GPU driver. Just wondering if there's a particular way I should be configuring this card or if the shadow "shimmer" bug for trees and grass can be fixed by other means. Thank you very much for your help, guys.
