Gamescom Reveal footage now up on the RSI website. Big steps forward as the Port Olisar playable area becomes the Stanton star system. Looks really impressive, check it out next time "fly free" comes around.

Teaser says by end of year, previous end of year was delivered December 19th :-)

 

The 2.5 update goes live over the weekend (been playing it in the test universe, good stuff)

 

The 2.6  update, which adds FPS to the universe & a "Star Marine" fps minigame + new updates for the "Arena Commander" dogfighting minigame goes live sometime between now & winter.

 

Pro-tip: buy a less expensive starter pledge that unlocks the MMO + Squadron 42 single player game, you can always upgrade your ship later (using real $ or in-game earned currency).

 

* There are frequent "fly free" events that allow you to play a few ships over a weekend or week, I'll try to post here next time one of those is announced.

Is the game really worth 73$? o.0 I mean, the 3.0 gameplay looks great but that's the price of 7 games. Also, aurora or mustang?

Lot's to see and do in the Port Olisar environs during the current iteration.

 

For a peak at what's coming ion 3.0 and beyond, check out this video from CitizenCon in 60 fps. It begins with an in-engine descent to a procedurally generated (and hand finished) planet, but once the camera reaches the protagonist (imagine your character here) things get much more interesting.

It's been a while, but CIG is doing another Fly Free event, from their website:

 

"Just click HERE, use the code SHARETHELOVE and you’ll receive access to a multi-crew Constellation Andromeda to test fly through Sunday, February 20th."

 

You can take on alien or pirate ships in the Arena Commander dogfighting simulator, or get into some Close Quarter Battle with the Star Marine fps-style simulator. That Constellation Andromeda will really shine in the Port Olisar online multiplayer environment, once you're sitting on the Connie's bridge you'll see what I mean.
