Question

Posted

When I run LOOT it recommends a host of Bash Tags for certain mods. I am familiar with Delev, Relev, Names, and Stats but there are other new ones I don't recognize.

For example the Update.esm recommends C.Location.

And here is what the Unofficial patch says:

  • Unofficial Skyrim Patch.esp

CRC: 23BBAC1C

Version: 2.0.7

Add: C.Acoustic, C.Climate, C.Encounter, C.ImageSpace, C.Light, C.Location, C.LTemplate, C.Music, C.Name, C.Owner, C.Water, Delev, Graphics, Invent, Names, Relev, Sound, Stats

I can't figure out how to add these. I know how to open and use Wrye Smash.

I know how about right clicking the bottom right window and adding tags like that. But only a few tags are avaiable to add and I can't type them in manually.

Can someone give me some input on this please.

Is there a section in the step guide about bash tags and suggested or needed changes?

The whole C.*

thats C Bash...

I think it was planned to be added but then well WB for Skyrim kinda died early on

If you are wondering C bash is, its a different method of patching and is only available for Oblivion by my understanding.

The others like Graphics and whatnot are also part of Oblivion's WB and maybe wrye flash for FNV and FO3

Overall, just ignore them at this point and worry about the ones that you can add

Off topic but...

Take a look at this

The tags are usually already present in WB, but LOOT still reports them just in case. You almost never need to add any tags unless working with a very new or custom plugin/patch that requires them.

No, C.* tags are Cell tags. You can see the list of bash tags here: Wrye Bash Advanced Readme.

Weirdly enough, LOOT doesn't write the suggested tags to each plugin, which is annoying.

They're not usually present, in my experience. You have to add them manually in the lower right box in Wrye Bash.

The C.* tags are for testing out the beta versions of WB and were added in for the handful of us that actually tested it out for Sharlikran, Valda, and Utommo. So far it works pretty good, but there were some null references added to a bunch of subrecords that is not wanted. Right now only Relev, Delev, Names, NoMerge, and Stats work with the release version.

And yes, LOOT has had issues forwarding the tags to WB. I haven't seen it happen in the latest beta version of LOOT though.

Vulgar1, the reason those tags appear in the LOOT masterlist is because I am trying to upgrade skyrim's patchers.  I have done so for an experimental version.  For the most part the bash patch it produces is usable but I only recommend using it if you are comfortable examining the Bash patch afterwards and making manual adjustments when needed.

Fallout versions of Wrye Flash do not interface with LOOT at all.  They only read the BOSS masterlist and taglist data.  So unless the Bash Tags are in the BOSS masterlist then they have to be added manually in WF itself.
