0 TechAngel85 Posted July 22, 2014 Posted July 22, 2014 You'll have no issues whatsoever. Those specs are higher than mine and I run the full STEP:Extended at an average of 55-60FPS (no ENB installed on my system though). With ENB, you'll looking at an average of 40-50FPS probably. That's normal with any system with an ENB installed. Your screen resolution will play a major factor in performance though. I'm saying all this assuming you'll be running at 1920x1080.
0 Halde Posted July 22, 2014 Author Posted July 22, 2014 Yea I'll be running 1920x1080. What screen size is recommendable for that resolution? Haven't found one yet. But I don't think I should go higher than 22"? BTW, has STEP servers been down the last couple of days?
0 TechAngel85 Posted July 22, 2014 Posted July 22, 2014 Any size should be okay as long as it's meant to run at 1920x1080 as its native resolution. I have a 23" IPS @1920x1080. Both games and movies look amazing. Yes, the servers were down, so-to-say. The admin that pays the hosting bill has been moving to a new house with his family so things have been a bit chaotic for him and the bill slipped his mind. Shouldn't happen again as he's almost settled.
0 Halde Posted July 22, 2014 Author Posted July 22, 2014 Do you think I can up my uGridstoload with a rig like that? Perhaps to 7.
0 TechAngel85 Posted July 22, 2014 Posted July 22, 2014 Possibly. It all depends on how intense the ENB you use is. Upping uGrids will affect performance also as heavy as an ENB. Try it a see what type of performance you get. If it's unsatisfactory, simply drop it back down.
0 CJ2311 Posted July 22, 2014 Posted July 22, 2014 Are you kidding? I run the game with an R9 280x, with Vividian ENB, an almost full SRLE + REGS setup and I get over 50 FPS :p
0 Halde Posted July 22, 2014 Author Posted July 22, 2014 I don't think I know what SRLE + REGS is, but it sounds tough. And that's good news! :)The reason I am asking is that I'm like a week shy of buying a new computer, and I wanted to make sure it could pull off the game I play the most with all the groovy stuff:)
0 CJ2311 Posted July 22, 2014 Posted July 22, 2014 Think STEP extended on steroids, with textures that are twice as bigger for the most part. :P
0 tehpandemic Posted July 23, 2014 Posted July 23, 2014 I have pretty similar specs, them being a tri-x r9 290 4gb and an amd fx 8350 4.0 ghz albeit with only 8gb RAM, but I am struggling for frames, namely in whiterun as soon as you enter the town and look towards the market district. I can honestly say I'm struggling for 30fps. But I have suspected it's to do with the processor if anything, I know Intel blow amd away 99% of the time
0 Spock Posted July 23, 2014 Posted July 23, 2014 My r9 290 can keep the 30 fps very safely @1200p with step extended (although 2.2.7, so no distance overhaul)+NLA and ugrids 7 (10000 grass distance, grass on steroids with 90 density). Make sure you go for 2048 shadow map resolution though. I use 16x ENB AF, all ENB AA options and texture filtering quality high in CCC.
0 TechAngel85 Posted July 23, 2014 Posted July 23, 2014 I was being conservative because every system is different. I haven't actually ran an ENB on my new rig to check the performance I would get. (Core i5 and GTX 760 4GB)
