Hi, everyone.

I'm running into an issue where the terrain randomly breaks. This is not just a visual bug; characters or creatures can fall off the world.

However, weirdly enough, if I enter a nearby inn, the cell reloads, and the next time, the terrain will be there... However, the issue might reappear again somewhere in the vicinity.

Any thoughts as to what could be the cause? It is a heavily modded setup. However, I tried removing potential culprits like Complementary Grass Fixes, Landscape Water and Fixes, Landscape Fixes for Grass Mods, and even Water for ENB without any results.

Thank you in advance for any insight you might be able to provide.

You are possibly hitting draw call limits. Depending upon your GFX hardware/software and the collective total mesh 'improvements' in mods you are running, you will push the limits, and no single mod would be to blame. Don't use any "high poly" mods for one. Also read through this topic:

Seems highly unlikely with an AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D CPU, GeForce RTX 5090 GPU, and 32GB DDR5 RAM. The PC isn't even stressed.

So, you have the latest hardware. good for you. For sterters... Skyrim is an old game! What is your mod set up?  Pleas share your load order, mod list and ini settings, or no one will be able to help you. The "culprit" mods you are mentioning should not be an issue if installed in a correct way.

DX9 draw call limits and SSE game limitations (limited DX11 support). At a certain point, your hardware extensibility provides no usable headroom.

This is why I pointed to the forum discussion I linked. There may be some config settings that you can try to eek out slightly higher limits. Again, do not use "high poly" mods, especially if you are running a heavily modded build.

To me this looks like a mod or config problem. Could be a rogue ini tweak. Most obvious one I would say is if you use A Clear Map of Skyrim and use LOD32 lod, you must generate LOD32 lod in DynDOLOD or it can cause all sorts of fun oddities. The fact you go inside an inn and come back out again seems like the most interesting clue.

Yeah, I'm using A Clear Map of Skyrim. So, should I manually enable LOD 32 in the DynDOLOD rules added by this mod? What level should I pick?

The change needed is setting Level32=1 in DynDOLOD/Edit Scripts/DynDOLOD/DynDOLOD_SSE.ini

Then regenerate DynDOLOD, following the instructions on the mod's page.
