I'd like to install overhaul mod(s) on top of the base STEP, so which would you recommend to have the least possible headache in installing?

1. Requiem alone

2. DUEL + Skyrim Scaling Stopper + Empowered Magic

3. Duke Patrick Heavy Weapon + Skyrim Scaling Stopper

Cheers,

Yaan

Given how I titled the thread, I'd assume your response/question is fine.

I do not know about those though, I just install 1 at a time and check conflicts in installers tab and run BOSS for load order.

Ok. I just re-started a new game and tried out the different combinations. I rebuilt the bash patch, then ran BOSS and adjusted the load order a bit.

So far, what I have added on top of baseline STEP is:

1. RLO

2. CoT

3. Duel (I tried Duke, but I perfer this one)

4. Skyrim Scaling Stopper

5. Empowered Magic

6. Morrowloot (placed it after SSS to get its benefits)

After 2 hours I have no CTDs, but might be still too early to tell.

How are you running Skyrim Scaling Stopper (version 5.10 & 1.8.4)? -Must know secret! :D

I have confirmed on multiple occasions that it is DEFINITELY causing me to CTD at the logo with S.T.E.P. 2.2.5 installation in last package install on my machine (among a couple additional packages). BOSS even reports Monster Mod is required over v3.0, but that mod is discontinued so I tried Skyrim Monster Mod Lore-Friendly Purist - version 12.2, both of these mods had heavy conflicts with my installation and CTD at startup.

Is there a more efficient mod that achieves what Skyrim Scaling Stopper does?

I was running 1.8.4 with nothing really special. I just followed the install order of the STEP guide and used Neovalen's guide for cleaning & bash patch the STEP mods. Then I added the other mods and ran the bash patch and BOSS at the end.

Eventually, I ended up just removing the whole STEP install and used only a few mods on top of vanilla:

1. Unofficial patches

2. RLO

3. Morrowloot

4. Requiem overhaul

Althought I don't have the eye candy, I am satisfied with the gameplay.

I just wish I knew a way to combine requiem with STEP. That would be cool.
