Question

Hi everyone, I've been using DynDOLOD for years and have been using 3.0 for awhile with no issues,  I updated to the newest DynDOLOD 3.0 and the newest DynDOLOD SE Resources 3 today and after uninstalling both the old versions and installing the new, ran TEXGEN64x for SSE with no issues and installed that into my data folder, now when I run DynDOLOD64x SSE it keeps telling me

"required resource file not found meshes\lod\imperial\helgenstoneblock01_lod_0.nif, make sure to install the latest DynDOLOD standalone with matching DynDOLOD resource se archive."

But I've tried reinstalling both again and it keeps giving me that error. Any ideas? I'm not sure what to do at this point. Sorry if this is a common or simple fix.

Thank you so much for your help! I'm a little sick right now and my brain is not working at all. The problem with TexGen is solved, but now the problem with DynDOLOD.... The wrhousewind01_dyndolod_child.nif file is not created/missing. I reinstalled all mods: DynDOLOD 3 Alpha, DynDOLOD Resources SE 3 RU, DynDOLOD DLL NG, but no result.

I'm experiencing the same error that mom_san seems to have had, though I am using Linux and wouldn't be surprised if it is a result of that. This recurs each time.

All DynDOLOD files are up to date, I have never had old versions of these files (I set up my OS and NGVO after the last updates), and I tried reinstalling both by nxm_handler and manually. I have verified that the nif in question appears correctly in the MO2 virtual data folder. I tried shortening the file path on my OS (not the unchangeable virtual path displayed here, that is), and this got past this initial error but returned many missing meshes/textures after launching generation, and then reverted to the error displayed here after that one aborted run. I have since reverted the file path back to the original, under the assumption that it did not fix anything. No other possible errors pointed to by the troubleshooting guide seem to apply.

No log files showing getting passed the initial error were provided.

The message states a fact. The OS reported to the program that the file does not exist.

Z:\home\chrysopoeia\Games\Skyrim\Stock Game\Data\meshes\architecture\whiterun\wrbuildings\wrhousewind01_dyndolod_child.nif

Make sure that the file system is in case insensitive for all files and folders involved.

If you can find meshes\architecture\whiterun\wrbuildings\wrhousewind01_dyndolod_child.nif in MO2 right window data tab with the same case, then make sure MO2 also uses the the shown data path Z:\home\chrysopoeia\Games\Skyrim\Stock Game\Data\ and if not, either update MO2 settings or the ones for DynDOLOD so that they use the exact same data path. See https://dyndolod.info/Messages/Windows-Registry-Key.

I am having this problem. The instructions state that the child/parent setting can be changed at the drop-down box in the 'Advanced Panel', but the problem is that the error occurred before the process reached the 'Panel' part. I have not managed to do any 'advanced setting' changes as the process had not reached that part yet.

I am using the latest Dydolod AND the latest Resources. Any help?

Also -d flag does not work unless "\.\" added to the end with error: "Installation path not allowed"

Install the Core Files from either DynDOLOD Resources or DynDOLOD Resources SE depending on the used game version as any other mod.
Install DynDOLOD DLL and Scripts for Skyrim or Enderal. Install DynDOLOD DLL NG and Scripts for Skyrim SE/AE, Skyrim VR, Enderal SE or Enderal VR. Overwrite DynDOLOD Resources.

https://dyndolod.info/Help/DynDOLOD-DLL#Installation
Install the contents of the archive(s) as any other mod with the mod manager.
The DynDOLOD DLL and its papyrus scripts need to overwrite DynDOLOD Resources.

Ignoring errors might cause issues or other error later. Install things properly as explained instead. Also see https://stepmodifications.org/forum/topic/18944-wrong-papyrus-scripts-found-for-dyndoloddll

The xEdit command line argument -d should typically end in ..\Data\ - if you believe it needs to end in ..\Data\.\ for some reason, report that to the xEdit github or discord. See https://dyndolod.info/Help/Command-Line-Argument, https://dyndolod.info/Mods/Skyrim-Special-Edition-GOG-Skyrim-Anniversary-Edition-GOG, https://dyndolod.info#Skyrim-Special-Edition-GOG-Skyrim-Anniversary-Edition-GOG

The Path Z:\tmp\overlay\game\ for Skyrim seems prone to issues. Use MO2 to install mods and start the tools.

Hello! I facing few issues installing DynDOLod.

I'm using WINE + Skyrim GOG 1.6.1179.0.8 + SKSE 2.2.6 + DynDOLod 3.0.0

- DynDOLOD Resources SE 3.00
- DynDOLOD DLL NG and Scripts 3.00 Alpha-39
- DynDOLOD 3.00 Alpha-196

1) Could not open registry key...

This is Skyrim GOG version, it has no Bethesda registry key. Can be fixed using '-d' flag

2) Installation path not allowed.

Happens during texture generation call:

'TexGenx64.exe -sse -d:Z:\ALL\Data'

Can be fixed if '-d' option replaced with: '-d:Z:\ALL\Data\.\'

Screenshot:

https://ibb.co/zW246PPZ

Forum search has no refference to "Installation path not allowed" message error.

3) Unable to run DynDOLod with file not found.

During call:

'DynDOLODx64.exe -sse -d:Z:\tmp\overlay\game\Data\.\'

Error:

Required resource file not found scripts\source\sheson_dyndolod_alias.psc

File exists and present.

Running DynDOLODx64 under MO2 causing it failed to find generated textures by previous step (TexGenx64)

4) Copy message to clipboard link does not work under wine.

-d:"[path to Data folder]" for example -d:"c:\GOG Games\Skyrim Special Edition GOG\Data\"
Different arguments should be separated by space, while there should be no spaces between path arguments and the colon and the path. A path should always be enclosed between double quotes. Use copy and paste to avoid mistakes, like adding extraneous spaces between the command letter, colon and beginning double quotes.

As already explained and shown in the linked explanations, the -d argument should end with ..\Data\ and should not have .\ at the end.
As shown and explained, all paths should be enclosed in double quotes.

If the game is installed into Z:\All\, then the -d argument should be -d:"Z:\ALL\Data\"
Obviously the -d argument should always be the same for all tools and not be different between TexGen and DynDOLOD.

https://dyndolod.info/Installation-Instructions
Use 7-Zip to unpack the entire DynDOLOD Standalone archive into a new and empty 'DynDOLOD' directory that is outside of special OS folders like 'Programs Files' or 'Program Files (x86)', User, Documents, Desktop, Download and also not in SteamApps, game, Data or any mod manager folders. For example C:\Modding\DynDOLOD\. Ensure that the directory structure is preserved. See Updating how to update existing installation and save games.

As explained in https://dyndolod.info/Official-DynDOLOD-Support-Forum#Read-Log-and-Error-Messages, click the link Click on this link for additional explanations and help for this message to open https://dyndolod.info/Messages/Path-Not-Allowed
Do not install DynDOLOD into special OS folders like 'Programs Files' or 'Program Files (x86)', User, Documents, Desktop, Download and also not into SteamApps, game or any mod manager folders.

If the game is installed to Z:\All\, do not install DynDOLOD into that same game folder or any subfolders of it. As explained, install DynDOLOD to Z:\Modding\DynDOLOD\ for example.

Error: Required resource file not found scripts\source\sheson_dyndolod_alias.psc. Make sure to install the latest DynDOLOD Standalone with the latest matching DynDOLOD Resources SE archive. Make sure the archives downloaded and installed completely.

The "OS" reports that the file Z:\tmp\overlay\game\Data\.\scripts\source\sheson_dyndolod_alias.psc does not exist. The problem is either that the path to the data folder has been set wrong by the user or with the OS accessing the file and wrongly reporting it to not be found.

Error: Wrong papyrus scripts found for DynDOLOD.DLL Make sure to install the papyrus scripts for DynDOLOD.DLL and that they overwrite the scripts in DynDOLOD Resources SE.

As already explained, DynDOLOD DLL NG and Scripts is not installed correctly. See https://dyndolod.info/Help/DynDOLOD-DLL#Installation.

See https://dyndolod.info/Messages/TexGen-Output#No-TexGen-output-detected.

Use MO2 to install mods and outputs properly and also to start the tools. Otherwise any tools and the game are not going to the see/use the same list of mods installed to the virtual data path. The mod manager, tools and game should all use the same "data" path.

Thank you very much for your patience. I was wrong. I put DynDOLOD into Skyrim folder (Z:\Games) and DDL failed to start. Also, becuase I'm using GOG I have to specify -p -m flags as long as -d flag. Correct path and flags are:

Z:\DynDOLOD\TexGenx64.exe -sse -m:"c:\Users\USER\Documents\My Games\Skyrim Special Edition GOG\" -p:"c:\Users\USER\AppData\Local\Skyrim Special Edition GOG\plugins.txt" -d:"z:\ALL\Data\"
