statmonster
I'm having a brutal time avoiding infinite load screens in Solitude. If I generate the default character in Live Another Life and choose Proudspire Manor to start I can't get out into Solitude unless I deactivate DSR, AV, the related mods and patches, plus Exeter's UNP Armor. If I do that I can get out about 66% of the time. I was originally fooling around to test out CoT & RLO and thought the crashes might be related to them, but just turning those off was not enough. However, leaving them on but turning off DSR, AV and Exeter usually allows me to leave Proudspire. I had similar load screen issues leaving Castle Dour if I started there but have not tested it as much. Link to comment
statmonster
I'm actually playing around a bit more and the nights in the new CoT are very much brighter than I remember...There have been quite a few comments to that effect. I think the cities are particularly noted for being brighter now. The mod author suggests turning the brightness all the way down, but says the darkest (highest numbers in 3.0) settings are still as dark (on average) as the darkest (lowest numbers in 2.1) before. Others seem to suggest that ENB setting are the way to solve for this issue. Aiyen
I personally use the Goddess ENB preset for lanterns, since it works best for me.. but some of the others are nice as well... there are decent screenshots to compare them. As for the brightness.. then yeh he has made them brighter. I personally just use the default to save an .esp and then adjust with my ENB. statmonster.. I will test out solitude later today to see if I also get issues in that region. Link to comment
Iroha
statmonster, infinite loading screen besides "bad mod install" can be caused by sick TES5 method of working with cells and RAM, if you tweaked you skyrim ini files to load more cells and keep more cells in memory - you can try to reduce these parameters to normal values. Also if using ENB and DoF there is not a big difference in image. Link to comment
Aiyen
No problems in solitude on my setup. Can walk in and out of castle dour with no problems, also the city with no problems. So you must have some problems with your install. :( Link to comment
statmonster
Thanks to Aiyen for helping me out with my Solitude infinite load screen issue. He suggested not using the z-Fighting tweaks to the .ini and this solved the infinite load screen issue immediately. (I tested with a new character to make sure the ini changes took effect.) I suggest anyone else with this issue try removing these tweaks and reverting these settings to Vanilla. On the issue of CoT Sounds in cities -when I finally made it out into Solitude I ran around a bit and listened to these. I agree that there is a bit of an issue with them. The sound file is very short and you always hear some guy laughing and children giggling to your left, whichever way you are faced. It repeats every few seconds. It's not all that loud but definitively noticeable. Link to comment
Smile44
Ditto on that - My current last bugbear is now seemingly fixed - I can escape Castle Dour. Thanks for that tip about removing the Z Fighting tweaks. Never noticed any Z fighting anyway. WooHoo! :) Link to comment
Aiyen
Guess that amounts to today's good deed.... amazing what reading random STEP forums late in the night will amount too! :) As for the sounds in CoT... went to solitude and heard them out. They are there during the day, and might be a bit too loud.. but I still like them.. sounds like people having fun behind some windows and children are playing just around the corner. But they go away doing the night so not really immersion breaking. Link to comment
WilliamImm
Mature Skin does not have a femalehead_msn.dds texture - All-In-One Face provides that. The special instructions to copy that file to femaleheadvampire_msn.dds should be moved to All-In-One Face' date=' and the specular map tweak should be applied to the blessed body.[/quote']Just checked' date=' and Mature Skin DOES have a femalehead_msn.dds texture, in the normal map package which I also say to install. :) It also has both an _s and _sk for all parts as well.[/quote'] Well, the femalehead_msn and the specular maps were not in the package when I downloaded them earlier. Must have changed since the time I tried those mods out on my own. Link to comment
Aiyen
They where not in the v.1.0 package. There they are done by All in one face. I just reverted to that version since the v.1.1 have some _msn racials I do not like compared to all in one face´s. Also I get some really nasty neck seam issues that I do not have in v.1.0 Link to comment
WilliamImm
Yea - probably the best solution to this is to download the "Body normal map UNP" file listed in the old versions instead of the "Body and Face normal map UNP". Less files, but the ones provided by All-In-One Face are better. Link to comment

statmonster
I'm wondering for CoT and RLO which preset would i use for lanterns for skyrim anybody know?I think Neo is using default for now. The CoT one is calibrated for 2.1 so the thought is that the RLO one might be the best. Link to comment
Aiyen
Just look at the comparison screenshots and pick one. Depending on ENB and whatnot they will look different. There is no MUST have for any one setup. It is really personal preference. If you do not pick one then you just get the really red default one which can also look nice at times... Link to comment
