Skyrim Revisited Pre-Release Feedback

Recommended Posts

I see thank you. I'm actually a blind idiot apparently. You do say to use the older version and I went and blindly downloaded the newer one! Apologies! So I've just finished a lengthy but rewarding install of all of the SR:LE guide. I did plan to add REGS but I've seen the incompatibilies with AI Overhaul and ETaC and a few other mods, so I'll perhaps add REGS later once things are cleared up and more compatible. I added a few extra mods to the SR:LE install.... namely Ordinator, Thunderchild, Imperious and the rest of Enai's mods. I think they're pretty irreplacable! None of them see to be conflicting on the left panel of MO at least, and I did check and double-check for load orders and compatibility so hopefully I'll be okay with them added. I also went for Dawn of Skyrim since it seems to be compatible with AI Overhaul. So I'm about to jump in and see how it goes!

Have a question about ASIS - In previous Skyrim builds I've used ASIS and all of it's features. What is the reasoning behind only using the NPC enchant fix in this guide? I've added mods like I said, also including Apocalypse Spells. I've checked a bunch of mods for what they suggest to add to the ASIS ini lists, and am using the ASIS Improved ini files also. Is it fine for me to run the rest of the settings when running ASIS? Or is there a reason you said to not select any of the others?

I simply do not use any of the others and therefore do not recommend them. In fact, ASIS was originally only added because the separate NPC Enchant Fix was removed from the Nexus and merged into ASIS.

Just been comparing the two versions of the Moonlight Tales mod (Overhaul and Essentials) I'm just curious why it is the former is favoured over the latter. I know it has a number of extra features but the occasional bugginess of it compared to what essentials is supposed to fix is making me tempted to try the pared down version for my new playthrough.

I think it's something related with EFF and/or followers compatibility

I started following the guide, and I noticed some unclear instructions: "Click the small screwdriver and wrench icon adjacent to the "Profile" drop-down and select "Install Mod..."."

But the screwdriver and wrench are the settings, and the install mod from archive is a CD and CD writer (I think )symbol. Just thought I should mention it while I remember it.

And since I had a reason to post, I have to say thank you very much for the detailed guide!

Nope, its a screwdriver and wrench (same icon as settings) but it's smaller and right next to the profile drop down.

I seem to remember reading this sort of comment a few times over the last year or two, maybe if we drop the 'small screwdriver and wrench' part of the description and just say the "icon immediately to the right of the 'Profile Selector'"?

That part of the description draws the user's eyes to the most prominent icon that has those features and actually serves more as a distraction than a direction.

Hope this is going in the right spot...

Just wanted to say this guide was awesome.  Followed your steps with Mods, cleaning and everything else, and now im running an awesome Skyrim with roughly 100 mods, plus the ENB and still running at about 40-Mid 50's FPS (tested at the Top of Dragonsreach, as well as the fields outside Whiterun that are heavy with grass).

Just as a benchmark this is the core of my system:

- Nvidia GTX 970 w/4GB VRAM (accoring to my sys properties)

- Intel i7-5820K processor

- 16 GB DDR RAM - 4 x 4

- ASUS x99-A Motherboard

- 256 GB SSD (For OS)

- 2TB HDD (For everything else)
