Nozzer66
I'm going to make another request for those of us who are not comfortable with the whole torrent/utorrent stuff - please give us some specific instructions (in your guide) on how to download the non-nexus files! I finally got the Skyrim Realistic Overhaul stuff installed last week, after some major issues which included hitting some legitimate-looking download buttons and having to disable my Norton in order to download the real file. Long story short - today I found out that I had a BUNCH of unwanted, suspicious crap that got downloaded to my BRAND NEW, EXPENSIVE computer in the whole process. And just so no one yells at me - I am NOT saying that this is due to downloading the Skyrim Realistic Overhaul. What I do with the SRO stuff... I torrented it ONCE. Then installed it, saving the archive in a save place where I'll never delete it. Then I gave my PC a through check and deleted everything that had anything to do with the torrent client and scanned my computer with as many malware scanners as I could. Torrents are a nightmare and should die in a very big and very hot fire. Edited February 13, 2015 by Nozzer66 1 Link to comment
DoubleYou
So this?https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=35 That works, or you can use the offline installer, which I always prefer, cause I hate web installers. https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=8109 Link to comment
Zegorzalek
Issue with KS Hairdos... does anyone have a good site to DL this from? I have not found any mirrors that work save for a heavy warning site that is torrent based... Can I substitute SG256/Apachii? (though would love to have KS also....) Link to comment
Andaone
Re: Bittorrent clients, I would recommend avoiding uTorrent. Just Google "uTorrent spyware" to see why. About a year ago, I started to install uTorrent (from the official site) and my antivirus program caught two spyware/adware programs that the installer tried to silently install. Not cool. A good alternative is qBittorrent. Re: KS Hairdos, I was able to use the Baidu-hosted link. Click the button near the top that says "↓下载". Try refreshing the page if the button doesn't appear. After clicking the download button, you should get a popup with two more buttons: a blue button saying "åŠ é€Ÿä¸‹è½½(推è)" and a gray button saying "普通下载". Choose the gray button. Et voilà . DoubleYou
You got to actually read the installers these days carefully to not install stupid stuff. Link to comment
Zegorzalek
I believe I have all this running now... however after starting the game... when I come back to MO, I have an skse > plugin > "hdtphysicsextension" log file in the overwrite directory. Did I mess something up or am I supposed to convert this to a mod as normal from the overwrite? Link to comment
Nozzer66
Nope that's perfectly usual. You can drop it in the HDT Physics Extensions mod if you like. I always do. Link to comment

statmonster
Why is there a level 40 bandit on the road to Riverwood (around the Standing Stones)? 27 arrows from Hadvar and myself plus half a dozen sword blows to bring this guy down. I assume Immersive Patrols or OBIS puts a solitary bandit spawn point around here. I've done this half a dozen times and they always seem to be high level (especially when one is level 1 coming out of Helgen). Link to comment

statmonster
Yanked out OBIS; I kept getting buggy (i.e high level bandit) spawns with it. (For example running out of the Helgen start and into the Bandit camp would often have a 35-40th level Bandit in there.) Plus I think it's just gotten too weird - I like my bandits to be... well bandits. The odd magician or guard dogs etc., in with them is cool but they just seem to be getting more and more weirdos. Using ASIS additional spawns will give me more bandits without all the crazy types. (Though I can easily imagine others really like the new bandit types - they are just not my cup of tea.) Maybe I'll try my hand at editing leveled lists to add a few new bandit types, some pets and give them a bit more variety in armor. Also dropped KS Hair - it's very nice but I actually end up going with the vanilla ones so it doesn't make much sense for me to take a slot with it. A mod that added a few more vanilla (i.e. medieval or somewhat rugged looking) hairstyles might be handy - I might look into getting an HDT hair mod - hair whipping around can look good. BTW, the latest textures and ENB, etc. are amazing. The game really looks stunning. Edited February 15, 2015 by statmonster Link to comment
Nozzer66
Strange. Have never had a single issue with OBIS spawns and over high level bandits. Link to comment
statmonster
Bathing breaks DSR's shield on back. After bathing the shield is permanently affixed to the character's back, it remains there if a bow is equipped or a sword drawn - the character tries to block Asia holding a shield why the shield remains on the back. This only seems to happen with the custom FNIS animations, not the default ones - no idea why. I did FNIS correctly (AFAIK) and the animation plays correctly - the character is just bugged after. Edited February 16, 2015 by statmonster Link to comment

So in doing this... or removing any mod from the lineup for that matter... (looks at esp's without running back to instructions)... need to re do the RS patch, run boss, redo bashed patch, SUM, and dual redux last? Link to comment
