Skyrim Revisited Pre-Release Feedback

Recommended Posts

Hey Neo! I must be crazy, but I'm thinking about wiping my install and starting over with a clean SR:LE/REGS install. I really want to just play the game after this and not monkey with this stuff anymore, so before I start I have two questions.

1) I don't want to deal with iNeed or Frostfall (especially Frostfall). Can I safely exclude those or will that break the CR patch? Should I just install them and turn them off in MCM?

2) I wasn't able to get Inigo to work in my previous setup and I'd really like to add him. Do you know of any conflicts offhand?

As always, thanks for the great, great guide. And thanks in advance for any answers I can get from you or anyone else.

EDIT: Forgot to ask--I was using SPERG on my last playthrough and enjoyed it. Is that safe to add without having to make changes to the CR patch?

Just deactivate those mods : if MO don't tell you that SR Conflict Resolution has missing masters (check for a warning sign alongside the CR .esp in the right pane) and that the game loads, you're fine.

Inigo may not work as it should with EFF.  I'm absolutely not in a position to affirm things as I didn't use Inigo with EFF, but you may check Follower Compatibility by Vamyan. Could be outdated, but I see it includes Inigo changes pertaining EFF so that's a track.

Also, be sure to apply the correct load order as per recommended in the EFF Nexus description, under "Compatibility" :

Should be compatible with horse follower mods and Better Followers as well assuming XFLDialogue and XFLPlugin are loaded after said mod.

Hello Neo,

A while ago you had to drop Realistic Aspen Trees. See the Quote from your question to the mod author.

Will you be updating Realistic Aspen Trees for the new SFO 2.0e?

No there will be no more updates.

So unfortunately its either live with the mismatching LOD or remove realistic aspen trees. I hate when quality stuff gets abandoned and becomes out of date.

I just checked out the mod authors page today and a 2.7 version is available of which he states it is fully compatible with SFO 2.0e.

Few more updates tonight playing catch up to the Nexus. Made a note about RAT Ogham, will check it when I can. Don't forget when updating Vividian / Re-Merging to also run RS Patcher.

Known things still out of date:

Dagi-Raht Race Reborn (I was disheartened to see BASE was missing as an option for UNP / Better Males in the installer despite being in the archive - Left a comment on the page.)

Improved Closefaced Helmets (Need to re-evaluate latest version with Apop patch)

Realistic Aspen Trees (Check out new version)

XPMS Extended (Waiting for 2.21 release so NPCs can match race menu modded weapon positions)

Hello Neo!

quick question.. why do you chose not to install a lot of eyes from Eyes of Beauty?

The player only file recommended to be installed is not supposed to modify any NPCs eyes. However, the Khajiit and Argonian replacers are in the main file anyway...

The reason I dont recommend the NPC replacer is because it actually changes the NPC eye color (eyes marked green are blue, etc. etc.)

To All:

AOS2 updated (CR updated for one minor change - no text change in the guide tho).

ICH updated to latest version with apop patch. WAF patch was updated and is now included for it as well.

The inconsistencies you're seeing probably reflect changes I've made to WAF since v5 was released.  For example, I know there were a few keyword corrections made to the DB masks.  There may have been other changes too, I didn't go back and check my changelog when I was editing the ICH file; I just used the most recent files I had.  If there's something that looks particularly out of place, though, let me know.

Neovalen, for the XP32 mod, as it's now updated to 2.20 and 2.06 is not available, what options should I choose when installing it?  I tried following what's there but the verbiage has changed and I want to make sure I don't mess up compatibility with any of the animation mods.

EDIT: Also, for all file removals that contain a *, do we need to get rid of every file of that name, including _n's, or just the file with that name only?

Hey guys.

I'm feeling ready for a change, ENB-wise, and was looking into installing a different one. However, I realized that the ELE Interior Lighting Merged Mod from Vividian has records in the CR patch, so I can't merely disable Vividian and enable another ENB.

How should I go about installing another ENB? Is it sufficient to remove that ESP from the list of CR Patch masters?

2.06 is available in the old files part of the download page. Use it. :)

* is a wildcard that means anything starting with that so iceflow*.dds would mean anything starting with iceflow and ending with .dds (including normal maps)

You would end up with a lot of bad records doing that. Either A) Make your own version following the CR guide, or B) Remove the master from the header then scan for errors and fix each one by one.

Some other presets use ELE / particle patch / etc as well, so depending on which your switching to you may just leave the ELE Legendary installed and remove the rest of the vividian files.

Hi Neovalen,

Some queries:

1) The AOS 2.2 installer has lots of compatibility patches for mods in SR:LE but the guide only uses the Climates of Tamriel patch. The other applicable patches would be Deadly Spell Impacts, Enhanced Blood Textures, Traps Are Dangerous, Weapons & Armor Fixes and Wet & Cold. Any reason these are not used?

2) Similarly, Book Covers Skyrim has some patches in this installer. The ones applicable for SR:LE would be Complete Crafting Overhaul Remade and The Choice Is Yours.

3) Complete Crafting Overhaul provides compatibility with Heavy Armory and Lore Weapon Expansion as well. Any reason they are not used like the other patches mentioned in the CCOR page? I read that Immersive Weapons is not in SR:LE because it didn't match up the quality of Immersive Armors. Are these weapon expansions not included for a similar reason?

1 & 2) Simply saving ESP slots, why use patches where there arent that many changes in them. They are simply merged into the Conflict Resolution esp.

3) Heavy Armory and LWE may make it in one day, I'm still undecided on them.

Anyone else get some interesting moving textures with Vivid Landscapes and parallax? I am staring at a rock and the texture moves like a wave. I can't take video of it, but here are a few screens a few moments apart, without me moving at all. Notice the change it texture positioning. I have the step Bump Textures and Project Parallax installed (and SMIM, which changes the meshes). Anyone have a clue what's going on?
