Skyrim Revisited Pre-Release Feedback

Recommended Posts

Hello, recently started downloading and installing from SR:LE, but I've been stopped short by a couple things early on.

1)  Project Paralax Remastered says to download the optionals ELFX Patch but the author has actually removed those 3 from nexus according to his comments on April 8th.

2) The link to Animated Dwemer Lift Load Doors, says that the account has been disabled temporarily due to excessive traffic.  Not sure what constitutes temporarily, but I will check on it again tomorrow.

I suppose doing without either isn't terribly game breaking, but thought I'd put it here in case it warrants looking into, changing, or if I merely underestimate their importance. ^^

Hello Neo,

As per Vividian's ENB v. 5.30 Nexus page, the Vividian-Weather Patch.esp should be loaded before any other Vividian esp.

In the guide, although you revised the version to 5.30, the BUM rule for the weather patch is not altered.

Shouldn't it be loaded before Vividian-Extended weathers.esp?

Thanks mate!

1) Thanks for the notification, deletions don't seem to show up on the Nexus tracker for some reason.

2) Link seems to work fine for me right now, give it another go.

this beauty just came out: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/52067 :)Neo, do you think SRLE is going to improve gameplay as extensively as the old version in the future? I really dig the "leaner" paradigm you have adopted for LE, but gameplay is too vanilla-ish now imo. there's a few top quality mods I'd love to hear your opinion about:

1) Duel: not sure why it got removed, there may be better alternatives but vanilla combat is pretty terrible imo, you just keep spamming attack with zero tactics, feels like Diablo XD

2) Skytest: again, not sure why it got removed, there's also a lite version available and patches for SIC and USKPhttps://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/46495

3) High Level Enemies has a SIC edition available: https://sites.google.com/site/immersivecreatures/hle---sic-edition , they fit just perfectly together.

4) lifestorock's DFB random encounters: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/32394/? : this is another one that goes great with SIC as well, highly configurable too.

5) Apocalypse and Thunderchild: again, top quality additions from a very talented modder.

6) Immersive Weapons: just perfect alongside immersive armors

7) the lore friendly version of the updated Monster Mod: goes great with SIC, there's also a patch for skytest: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/46495

8) Dynamic Loot: top quality mod, goes great with npc enchantments fix and has patches for immersive armors and weapons and jaysus swords.

9) Dragon Combat Overhaul: just great with deadly dragons, dragon fights are truly epic without being overly difficult.

10) Better Vampires and Moonlight Tales: not sure why they were removed, huge gameplay improvement over vanilla.

11) Helgen Reborn: top quality DLC like expansion, just like wyrmstooth and falskaar :)

12) Unique Grasses: version 2.0 is incredible, an awesome addition to SFO. Caribou Gone is also a fantastic enhancement to the landscape, and works just fine with SFO.

13) ETAC / Immersive Settlements / other town expansions: these greatly improve the various towns and cities imo. there's also  more lightweight alternative which is great: Better Town Textures, which is compatible with BDS, ELFX and no snow under the roof. also improves mills :)

14) Immersive Patrols:  great seamless addition to the game, there's also an improved version available: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/50389/?

15) Fantasy Soundtrack Project: amazing addition to the music variety of the game.

Sorry if this has been posted already (when I get stuck on one of these it usually means I've missed something along the way):

I'm updating my SR Conflict Resolution since I added cutting room floor. I'm fixing:

Block 2 > Sub-Block 4 > 00071FFE SolitudeJusticiarsHeadquarters > Temporary > 00015F44

Conflict Resolution: Use record from EnhancedLightsandFX.esp then move the XLRL - Location and DATA - Position/Rotation records from Cutting Room Floor.esp. Edit DATA - Flags to "10000101".
Problem Resolved: Changes from Cutting Room Floor and Enhanced Lights and FX needed to be merged.

I don't see the "Edit DATA - Flags" item in that record ...would be right under EDID - Editor ID usually right?

In the fix immediately before this one I see the "Edit DATA - Flags" just fine-

Block 2 > Sub-Block 4 > 00071FFE SolitudeJusticiarsHeadquarters

Conflict Resolution: Use record from ELE - Interior Lighting.esp then move the XLCN - Location and XOWN - Owner records from Cutting Room Floor.esp. Edit DATA - Flags to "10000101".
Problem Resolved: Changes from Cutting Room Floor and Enhanced Lighting for ENB needed to be merged.

I'm guessing the "Edit DATA - Flags" change carries over to the cell > Temporary > 00015F44 cell?

I am using SR, with SkyRe and minor modifications, so I can't really attest to objective SR performance in terms of testing.  BUT, having said that...

It would be absolutely brilliant if you can list in the troubleshooting section, heavily scripted mods in SR, so that people that are using OTHER packs know what to uninstall first if getting CTDs that weren't there before.

I am now 100% certain that scripted mods combos running together can cause rather random seeming CTDs.  Could be SkyRe and EBT and maybe even Footprint, Wet-Cold, Frostfall, BSE for example.  But given how many modders here use SkyRe/Requiem/Duel etc. in their plays, it wouldn't be a terrible idea.  You can't assume that all these end-user modders will know how to troubleshoot problems and I know how frustrating it all is.

I've written elsewhere on these forums, that uninstalling EBT has solved my (hopefully) final random CTD issues, I am certain its not the fault of EBT per se, its the combo of heavy constant scripts, particularly those that compete to affect surrounding NPCs that is the issue.  I know that this isn't what this "pack" is about, but there is almost a certainty that almost all modders will attempt to merge yours with other mods and I am 100% certain this advice is worth its weight in GOLD.

With the advent of the memory patch and ENBBoost, and apart from the usual missing masters and silly installation mistakes and out-right mod conflicts, script conflict/competition caused CTDs is the last bastion of the random'ish CTD in Skyrim.

Neovalen, I'd like to know, what do you like so much with climates of tamriel ?

Can't respond for him, but I'd say the real strengh of CoT is the sky/cloud-scape diversity. In that regard only the very recent Pure Weather can compete.

Ideally I'd be happy with a "only cloud" version of CoT, but that seem difficult to isolate.

Would be nice to get Neo's feedback on Gekko64's post #3410 .

I am still waiting to play the game since i am worried that at high level i will be oneshotting enemies.

I have decided to wait and do a full re-install once the guide is almost finalized.

Hopefully Neo will add some scaling/combat mods to address this issue.

regarding that post, I have to say SSME brought upon a reinassance in skyrim modding for sure. I'm now running most of the above ( currently missing helgen, etac, vampire/werewolf and duel ) , plus SkyRe, Radiance, Automatic Variants and Asis, on top of a srle lite ( no script heavy mods ) , and it runs very well. worth mentioning my hardware is core i5-2430m ( 2.4 dual core ) , radeon 6770m 2gb ( it's like a desktop 4850/70 ) , which seems encouraging for those with much beefier rigs. I'm not even using ENBoost since I use an older enb version for performance, so I've reduced most texture replacers to 1024 color and 512 normal maps, the difference is hard to notice at 720p anyway.

the gameplay is much better, world scales less with the player, reasonably challenging, world feels populated but not too action packed since I don't use Asis increased spawns.

SSME was a variant of the sheson memory patch while we had to modify or download a .dll of SKSE 1.6. Since the 1.7 alpha already includes the memory patch, it's pointless to use SSME now, the result would be the same.
