monkeycid Posted February 11, 2017 Posted February 11, 2017 Hi there! I have started modding Skyrim again using Neovalen's increasingly outdated guide which, for the most part, remains relevant. I have left out mods that I don't use such as Falskaar, Frostfall and other mods that add new gameplay mechanics to try to keep an almost vanilla Skyrim that looks pretty. I have managed to find some replacements for mods that have been removed from the Nexus but a parallax mod for Noble Skyrim is proving hard to find so I would appreciate any suggestions in that department. I have replaced Vivid Weathers with Natural Lighting Vivid Atmospherics and Vividian ENB with SnowFall ENB and the results are astounding! I haven't touched upon the conflict resolution part yet but I am halfway through merging the mods I do use from Neovalen's guide. Anyway, I would like to hear what other people have done to their Skyrim Revisited playthroughs to keep it updated and refreshing. Thanks!
DarkladyLexy Posted February 11, 2017 Posted February 11, 2017 the are currently 3 standalond guide that use SRLE as there base: SRLE Extended LOTD: https://wiki.step-project.com/User:Darth_mathias/SRLE_Extended_Legacy_of_The_Dragonborn this is mine a hubby's (shameless plug) guide it is currently going through a major overhaul which should be completed in a few weeks so suggesr using the locked version it also uses Ordiantor. SRLE LOTD Reqtified: https://wiki.step-project.com/User:Paul666root/SRLE_LOTD_Reqtified this used Requiem Skyrim All YASH'D Up: https://wiki.step-project.com/User:Paul666root/Skyrim_YASHed this used YASH now both guide by Paul and JD are very modular they both have a section that deals with a lot of different weather mods and ENB I suggest you take a look at them: https://wiki.step-project.com/User:Paul666root/SRLE_LOTD_Reqtified/SRLE_LOTD_Reqtified_Optional_Install
monkeycid Posted February 12, 2017 Author Posted February 12, 2017 I will try yours and your husband's guide because it seems easier out of the three to follow. The thought of having to find several mods not available on the Nexus and then combining them together is a bit scary for me.
jdsmith2816 Posted February 13, 2017 Posted February 13, 2017 What gives the impression that this is required?
Nozzer66 Posted February 13, 2017 Posted February 13, 2017 I suspect he's referring to the beautification stuff with SMC. If so, you can just choose not to use everything in SMC by just unticking them.
twiztedmongoloid Posted February 14, 2017 Posted February 14, 2017 (edited) I just skipped SMC altogether and installed texture mods the normal way. Mostly whats in SRLE and darths guide. Aside from several mods no longer being available i just prefer installing them normally. The 50GB of disc space was also a concern. YALO and others have been hidden. The guides really need updated. With the requiem guide as is immersive horses is completely broke YASH guide several merges have errors that the guide doesnt even mention how to address....so users have to go searching for solutions on their own. ICH has errors. ECTV has errors. SOL mods are hidden. Great guides but they need fixes and updates or people will be discouraged from following them. Except for very knowledable ones who can fix things theirself. Edited February 14, 2017 by twiztedmongoloid
Darth_mathias Posted February 14, 2017 Posted February 14, 2017 (edited) we are in the process of updating the SRLE Extended LOTD guide with a shiny new CR so give that a few weeks and it will be there. Edited February 14, 2017 by Darth_mathias
monkeycid Posted February 14, 2017 Author Posted February 14, 2017 How much of the guides are skippable? I am still a big fan of Skyrim Revisited and how it didn't really mess with huge overhaul mods such as Requiem. I would like to use the expanded guides as a means of updating Skyrim Revisited without installing too many of the extra mods they suggest.
Darth_mathias Posted February 14, 2017 Posted February 14, 2017 thing are quite modular expect you won't be able to use my CR so you would have to do your own conflict resolution patch.

Already got the base template made... just waiting for things to mature.
