Soul Gems Differ mod causing CTD at main menu.

Question

Posted (edited)

Hi everyone!

Well, as the title says the mod Soul Gems Differ is causing my game to CTD to the desktop when I reach the main menu. I'm making a fresh install of the last STEP version slightly modified but before I ended I just decided to run the game to see if all was fine until now. Then I noticed the CTD and started disabling mods until I found that the one giving the CTD's on the main menu was that mod. However, on the mod page it just says that isn't compatible with other mods that make changes to the soul gems (which I don't have other mods aside from this one). The thing is, the mod seems cool, but it's giving me that CTD and IDK why so I gonna try here, maybe somebody know a possible reason. Oh and I'm using MO. I don't think it's related to the manager but just in case I just say it.

Here are my loadorder with the problematic .esp at the bottom (the colored one). Maybe somebody have some idea of what could be the problem. Right now i have it disabled, however the mod seems cool and I would like to be able to use it, if it's possible whatsoever

I had the same problem. Do you use English language? I had crashes with Polish language. This problem is caused by delocalised esp. You should use tesvedid and localize it.

Load tesvedit, check Soul Gems Differ, load, right click on esp. I'm not sure, but there should be something like Other > Localization > Language > and then you choose localize. Save changes.

It worked for me. No crashes since then.

I would reinstall the mod as this is the first report I've seen.

I currently also have step and I do not observe similar issues.

The only time I've seen mo mess something up was when I was trying to do something when I shouldnt have.

The mod isnt something that should cause any sort of crashes to begin with as the plugin is pretty simple.

I tried reinstalling it just in case it had some kind of patch I didn't seen the first time I installed it, but it didn't worked either.

Well, I'm using the spanish version. I tried to localize the mod to my language since it comes by default with the english localization checked but it didn't worked because every time I saved the changes, when I re-checked it was set up on english again. Then I just delocalized it just to try and now it doesn't crash, or at least not on the main menu like before. Thank you for your answers!  :^_^:
