ya sorry main is in general general format typo textures are in a SPECIAL BA2 DDS archive this is different to the MAIN/general archive zzz it's simple DDS or texture files that have the .dds extension live in BA2 via Achiever2-->settings-->format-->DDS sound, nif, scripts or any other folder you can think of goes into the - main.ba2 via Achiever2-->settings-->format-->General the only thing is the /4 thing I said if you want multiple archives. and if you really want to optimize the streaming of it all then you can configure the mip chunk area but that requires maths(don't stress over it). -

Gernash replied to Gernash's topic in Unofficial Fallout 4 Guides
remember all non texture go into a single General BA2 and all textures go into a DDS format one, you tick the Archive count box and divide your texture folder size by 4 e.g. textures folder has 8gb of files divide by 4=2 so 2 archives IF your talking about the Optimization of the vanilla textures (the MODS) then you HAVE to have 9 as they will replace the ones in the falloutout4 folder (don't use them in MO2 it's pointless) If your Compressing mods into a single folder then create an empty mod open FO4edit and make a new empty overwrite and save it into your empty mod. remember to call your BA2 archieves after your empty esp i.e. test.esp test - main.BA2 test - textures.BA2 or multi texture test - main.BA2 test - texture1.BA2 test - texture2.BA2 etc -

And I'm not sure anyone who has used the term LOD is using it correctly or maybe they are trying to explaine something and using the "WORD" LOD (Not crawling up your A__ just confused) HMM I'll update the ENBBoost Info as that is from the original KASTA's Guide (Thanks Kasta you gave me soooo much work Wiki is bad to time wastage Mkay) Yes with an ssd will run better but watch the vid do some maths and be happy ;) OH 4K gaming 3,840 x 2,160 monitor resolution is why I was scratching my head -

yea NO. 44006 will use HDD so it will shudder mem size= vram on card + main memory- 6gigish (I dont know what you run in background) 1920x1080 so not 4k gaming. I use 1920x1200 and get 30 at absolute worst so you should get about 15-20fps more than me Watch this -

https://wiki.step-project.com/User:Gernash/MODWiki#Vivid_Fallouts_-_Landscapes IS an example of the "NEW" Layout for Landscape and textures. I've moved Kesta's Flares so I can Add and change them (Color and Text) MAIN File will be 2k in a performance flavor (2k _d.dds 1k _n.dds and _s.dds, I'll now forever refer to this as _dns_ from now on) LQ is 1k _dns_ MQ is 2k _dns_ HQ is 4k _dns_ If a file has (1k 512 512) or (2k 1k 1k) or (4k 2k 2k) then it's going to be classed performance _dns_ i.e. less vram usage or "optimized" (to anyone who knows stuff- Yea I know but it's how the internet peoples perceive it shhh) -

Archive2 is outside of the scope of the wiki as it requires knowledge of your file system etc and just making an mklink is hard enough for the most part, I'm not willing to do anything like that until a "1 press" tool is available. meta.ini is generated by MO as a reference index for categories and nexus page info. Leave bethini alone for now I have given the reason already. I do not understand your that reference under "Edit" is about -

"I'm working on a way to convert some of these older mods into ba2 formats" (I have a friend looking into making/writing an Automated tool for that.) Missing FOMODS (I'll get onto that) Overwrites....Hmmmm I'll check my order but I think it's the same as the install list I just assumed people would load the same way....I have not gone through all the textures (most of them I have) I personally set up an overwrite structure then compress all the mods (I use a loose version for speed testing and Wiki fault diagnosis ENB ambient occlusion seems to be fine (I've not been too concerned as a vid update will make it all mute soon) -

A note on ENB+FX mods... you NEED to have a color corrected screen to get the most out of them. I have included mods that will make the game look "cleaner" without the use of those type of mods if you want to use an FX based enb thingy remember you will most likely not be able to use shadow boost and if your relying on that then you will have to lower you shadow distance in the INI. Vivid - pretty Vivid+ Darker nights - Pretty+atmospheric night game play (you are in the dark!!!) truestorms- awsome sound (if your sound card is compatabile) I'll put back the TrueStorms+ Vivid+ Darker nights setup (if you don't like the dark dont install night mods (will add more info) Will add a Speed/Performance indicator to mods/fomods so the Texture band wangon Poindexters can all get on that bus and leave me alone. (PLEASE Note this will take upwards of 15hrs to do zzzzzzz I assumed people would make the hmm I see 4k I see 1k I'll CHOOSE the 1k) -

ZOMG spelling mistake in Realistic Roads :) hehe No, very well done, It's beyond what I've been doing as I only apply fixed retroactivly (i.e. If I see a fault I then fix it) This fellows texture overhaul may point to other issues as well as you seem to scan forums. I'm changing the lighting and weather again to a more medium load (vivid+darker nights) rather than relying on ENB and add a expected FPS at the TOP of the MOD List (to give people an idea of speed) Playing this game on Medium Powered Graphic cards (960/970 should be 30-40 fps min) if not something is wrong (ini or enb setup) OR just too much grass -

4k Gaming I would not try unless I was running a dual 1080 setup if trying to achieve 60+FPS Stable in FO4. And even then, the, engine is bad and you will have to fiddle to get it up there. "GOPHER" uses twin 980 and has FPS drop. It just sh_ts me no end, The whole I get low fps must be bad textures argument..... I can Guarantee that it's more like. ZOMG I wanna this pretty ENB/FX combo on my sh_tty laptop or $50 videocard and I watch the u-tube and my bestest reviewer guy uses it now IR Potato. Must be the textures....... Yep sure -

AHHHHH, TOP sigh I have Explained this to death Installing a Nvidia GTX 10xx cards increases your performance Shock horror they are 20-40% faster than the previous generation WTF YES 100% upgrade you video card you will go faster YES 100% if you have TWICE the vram you will cache less to Main memory and will receive less Stutter YES 100% if you make you game look like a POTATO it will run faster I Agree 100% With you statement then. Also the 10xx are optimized for 4k and VR -

zzzzz He is 4k gaming on a 970 he is pushing Sh_t up hill best of times Even in vanilla I'd say 60fps would be a struggle WHAT HE NEEDS to do is run at a lower resolution and upscale to get anything that resembles FPS Running out of memory.....Sure...it can happen I do not cache to hdd only vram and 6gig of main memory I have NOT CDT EVER from "Running out of memory" because that is what will happend when you run out of it. 4k render drawn will cause FPS stagger ONLY if you have alot of objects i.e. 2000 4K Trash Bins, fans whatever. not running around. Run Fallout4 Performance Monitor if you think you have a memory issue that will show you basicaly everything (cant run as an overlay with enb307 so FPS log does not work) -

@Aeradom As I said before the textures will only impact load time (loading in the textures) not running around if you have ENB as the memory manager for vid(NOT running and exotic enb) they are "photos" essentially if he sits on 20 fps then it's a water/lighting issue (dynamic shadows) With and without ENB (without ENB SHIFT+12 default render engine) https://s10.postimg.org/ovan31a8p/enb.jpg -
