I just bought an EVGA GeForce GTX 680 4G. Â Totally psyched because now all my freezes, CTD's and ILS will be history ! Â Right? lol. Â Was just wondering what driver Skyrim players out there are using for it. Â I read on some thread that users were still running 3.14 since the newer driver had issues. Â But that was 6 months ago. Â Is this still the case for Skyrim ? Â Thanks all. Â

I know REQ at right will trump all but I don't understand why GDO red flags. If it's a dialog overhaul why do the weapon and armor values get compared to or even carried over ? Another example is argonianraptor.esp. The mod changes the foot to a claw instead of a boot. Argonianraptor.esp shows every boot under the sun as redflagged because either the boot values differ due to requiem or that the boot value no longer exists (creating a flag) because now it has a claw for a foot. This is all new to me. Hopefully I can start understanding conflicts and whether they matter. That and get the perfect synergy with my modlist and Requiem.
-
@Smile, you mentioned GDO as a possible REQ conflict. I checked under TES5edit and I came across red in all the armor and most weapon sections. For example under Imperial armor/armor rating it shows: Skyrim.esm     Weapons and armor fixes.esp     GDO.esp     Requiem.esp 25               31                      25         25 Is my assessment correct in that GDO.esp RED HILITES because a value is different with some other mod period ? In this case Weapons and armor fixes ? So if I did NOT have Weapons Armor fixes installed there would be no red flag? In translation does it mean Requiem is taking vanilla's armor rating and that any adjustment made by weapons&armor fixes will be overwritten by Requiem ? Anyway I thought GDO only modified a guard's dialogue ?? So long story short can it be determined that the armor and weapons on guards will reflect vanilla unless a patch is made between W&Afixes and GDO. However if the patch is above Requiem it won't matter anyway ? Also it looks like Weapons and Armor fixes values are being trumped all over the place by REQuiem. So that would make Weapons and Armor fixes a wasted mod and/or incompatible with Requiem. Sorry for so many ?????

Which ENB are you using and why?
Quahogs replied to DoYouEvenModBro's topic in General Skyrim LE Discussion & Support
@ rootsrat. I'm drooling over your description. I have the CoT ELFX combo and I'm running Unreal and I just CAN'T get interiors right and nights even at CoT 8 just don't look right. Dawnstar's quicksilver mine looks perfect but Helgen's Keep at warm is too bright and cold a filmy black (Helgens's keep considered an interior or dungeon?) So you're saying it's not released and I can't get my hands on it ? :-( -
CTD by Scrolling through items a few times

@rootsrat - you mentioned Bandolier - Bags and pouches to remove, any issues in particular or maybe just a squirrelly mod in your experience ? -
@Aiyen   thanks for the guidance.  Patch is complete.  Funny thing is I'll never know if I made any difference based on game interaction since I'm way too new to the Skyrim world.  If the dragons fly upside down and fire donuts at me I'll just assume it's some kind of RN&D type attack... :-P So I understand things better REQ is 1st in order followed by DCO.  Since DCO follows its values are what the game uses by overriding REQ's dragon stats/values.  Those DCO values are based on Vanilla Skyrim.  I guess I'm confused as to how TES5edit knows to flag those differences.  Since DCO is modifying behavior etc wouldn't every change/modification DCO makes flag against REQ ?  (show up as red)? Â

There is one instance:  Undeaddragonrace  Mount Date / Offset X / Offset Y (they all are on separate lines) - when I copy the data to the patch.esp the red hi-lite remains the same.  Requiem.esp and DCOdragonborn.esp have different values.  No matter which I carry forward to the new esp at the right, the red remains.  I'm assuming I carry forward Requiems since DCO is loading after it.  - I aborted this one Also how do you delete an esp ?  I looked in MO's directories but I don't see a listing anywhere. Â
-
Working my way through this... 1) TES5edit I open up DCOdragonborn.esp and go down to race (since it's the only sub-detail that is hi-lited in light red) 2) I click and drag ONLY the hi-lited red items listed in requiem.esp to DCOdragonborn.esp so all red is now green 3) I left click on DCOdragonborn.esp and choose "copy as overwrite into" and choose new file. REQ_DCO patch. REQ_DCO patch.esp now shows next to DCOdragonborn.esp way on the right 4) it asks to make dragonborn, skyrim, requiem as masters. I choose yes. 5) I move to the other 2 races and repeat step 3 6) dragonrace is now green but the other 2 are still red alduin race:Gnam bodypartdata is red under skyrim.esm dragonborn.esm requiem.esp and DCOdragonborn.esp ??? what does this mean 7)undeaddragonrace has red(conflict) in the mountdata offset X offset Y data line between update.esm/dragonborn.esm VS. Requiem.esp/DCOdragonborn.esp and the REQ_DCO patch. Is this an issue ??? 8) I exit out and go to save changes.. I only check the REQ_DCO patch.esp box correct ? This leaves DCOdragonborn in its original state. Pass or Fail :-)
-
@Aiyen, so when I open T5E I check just the DCO and REQ esp's? I think I understand. I'll try this later tonight, it seems relatively straight forward but the mechanics may be tricky. We'll see. If the new DCO_REQ patch esp is fouled or I miss something A.Skyrim won't launch B.Dragon activity may cause a CTD C.I will get most of DCO effects just not all D. All of the above ? :-)
-
In regard to dragons and requiem. @Smile where you able to track down that DCO-REQ patch ? :-) Help me understand the general process though if I have to make one myself(shudder). If DCO is after Requiem then it overrides REQ's changes and I get a vanilla dragon but with DCO's AI ? If DCO is before REQ then I get a REQ dragon but lose some most of DCO's mod AI adjustments correct? So a patch carries forward DCO's AI modifications to a REQ dragon ? I'm sure there's a tutorial out there but in general what is the thought process behind creating a patch. How do you track down the conflicts to fix? What are the basic contents of the new dco_req patch.esp I'm creating ? Too many questions I'm sorry. Â Basic questions too but I open one door and sure enough there's 3 more behind it in this modding world :-)

@Aiyen, I don't know if it'd be that bad. Like I said I have little gaming or modding experience and was just wondering if it would harm my saved games. So in effect if I step foot out of the interior it would reset any wintry changes ? Using RN&D I could see this as being an issue though not a deal breaker for me. I just came down with an affliction (torn ACL? :-) that keeps me out of commission for a month and just need to stockpile the food and water. The reverse: Starting off with Winter is here and using that for 8 months. recoup injuries in April(click off the mod and add Grass on steroids) then emerge in May to a whole new season ! If having to be in an interior for 30 days is the only price I have to pay... But won't bother if it'll screw up the game. -
FYI: Â The auto update didn't work and it blew up my older v. of MO. Â It removed a bunch of .dll 's and wouldn't launch. Â I guess I could have worked backwards but I made a copy to D:\ (but after I tried auto update) and experimented with copying 1.07 install over the older .129 directory. Â Worked like a charm. Â I was expecting much worse. Â
-
That's correct 12.9. Fantastic. The auto update won't work so I have to figure a manual install. Not sure this is going to end well... I better back things up...

I recently updated all of my unofficial patches and just noticed something. Â As per Arthmoor and BOSS(when I run it) the order they list is as such: Skyrim.esm update.esm Unoff Skyrim patch.esp Dawnguard.esm Unoff Dawnguard patch.esp Hearthfires.esm Unoff Hearthfires patch.esp dragonborn.esm Unoff dragonborn patch.esp HRes pack 001.esp, Â 002.esp, Â 003.esp unoffic HRes patch.esp However the load order in MO in the right hand panel lists ALL my .esm in order (11 of them) and then it orders all of the unofficial patches after that I thought BOSS was supposed to juggle the order in MO. Now when the games starts does the load order as per MO take precedence or does it load behind the scenes according to BOSS ? Â Should I be creating rules in BUM then ? Â
-
Bingo! And there we have it. Thanks again.
-
@AQuintus, thanks for steering me in the right direction. I had no idea the patches I had had been updated. Every unofficial patch I had was an older v. I'm going to assume that removing/deleting the older patch from MO and installing the new version won't create any issues with the mods I have already installed ? I'm not to well versed in file dependencies.

Meticulous. You are loaded for bear. Have you known HOTH to play nice? Never knew he existed. Serious bad ass My goal is to get Wet and Cold playing again. Loved that realism. Speaking of which in your vast experience with mod/game play I was thinking about adding CoT Winter Edition (I'm using CoT obviously) to the game but only during the winter months (corresponding with Dec - Feb). Since my experience in Skyrim has only been about a month I don't believe towns like Whiterun and further south ever experience winter weather. I'd be unchecking the esp/mod come April. Am I asking for trouble ? -
Being an old D&D guy myself this is EXACTLY what I've been pining for. A slow meticulous crawl with meaningful effects and counters. Psyched. @Smile 2 questions. Are you using the latest v. of Hard Times (1.08). I mentioned before that I can't load Skyrim with the esp activated. The nexus forum showed similar issues but they may/may not be related to mine. Is TES5edit a tool to use to possibly track down what other mod is conflicting with it? I've been slowly removing mods to get my game down but it's a tricky process to troubleshoot because just "unchecking" a mod can in and of itself create its own issue. Did you created your own patch for DCO and Requiem. I couldn't find a patch anywhere EDIT: Actually 3 :-) . I thought I could get rid of timing is everything. I had it during my 1st playthru and really didn't touch it since I know very little about quest details or when they normally launch. Does REQ override vanilla as per levels or do quests start as per interaction with a person regardless of level? You mention Dragonborn at L40 and Dawnguard L30 - is that a recommendation or REQ driven ? thx

High times for Fjoldvik ! Â Interested to know what dimension he lives in... Vanilla, Â SkyRE, Requiem, Unleashed... Â -
Well people smarter than me are on board with this. Adding this will let me bail on quite a few sound esp's so AOS it is. Thanks Spock

Great read rootsrat. Guy sounds very similar to the older generation here as the PC/digital age swung its mighty hammer the last couple of decades. Either you sucked it up and got up to speed or you were left behind in the dust, employ-wise, socially, etc. I don't see your dinosaur making much headway if he doesn't embrace the new "digital" magical world ! Keep us posted on the progress :-) -
@Smile44, I noticed you are using AOS. Much tweaking worldspace edit stuff involved or just various patches per other mods? As per the older SR setup does AOS make some of those sound mods obsolete like Requiem has done to some gameplay mods?
-
My problem is I'm just not that well versed to fly off on my own. I can follow instructions and troubleshoot somewhat. I can even veer a little. But that's it. I started with a STEP 2.2.6 build but then came across revisited and thought wow, look at all these mods! and meticulous instructions. If I follow to a t I'll have this great game. I spent weeks and weeks building and optimizing and ENBing and learned alot. I also learned that this dog just won't hunt. What works for NEO just won't work for me. Now that's when I discovered OVERHAUL mods. So I tried to squeeze SU and Skyre into a SR foundation and actually got some play time in before THAT hit a wall. I decided to pull the plug on that before I got too invested. So now it's on to Requiem with the aid of your packs and the Great Purge of mods. Less is more. Yes I should start up with STEP CORE and build on it but I'm beat and just want to play. I think I'm almost there with Requiem, the weather pack and Frostfall / RND. I'll just have to live with the ILS and or CTD's because I'm sure I'm straining things with too many SR textures. The game looks fantastic. Hopefully it'll hold together because I have limited ability to fix things on my own.

Hello all,  I receive the message below and what confounds me is that I have my setup just as it is in the spoiler (which I mirrored from SMile44's req pack) skyproc.exceptions missing master requiem - SIC patch -DLC2.esp has some missing masters   Requiem - dragonborn.esp I used BUM to create the rule to have requiem - SIC patch -DLC2.esp to follow requiem - dragonborn.esp in the plug in order and it does.  Both esps are active I removed both files and reinstalled.  Same issue.  I also ran SUM toggling BOSS OFF just in case it was making its own mind up after I ran the BUM rules.  Skyrim is one tempermental cookie to mod ! EDIT: problem fixed. Read on nexus board that requiem - dragonborn.esp needed to be added to SUM DSR blocklist.txt. Yes, my 1st thought too actually ! :-P
