v2.08.1b force load plug-in after LOOT sorting

Sorry Grant. That would help, huh? It's the SSE version running on SSE via MO 2.08.1B. -
v2.08.1b force load plug-in after LOOT sorting
tjax323 replied to tjax323's question in Mod Organizer Support
Can't edit my own post for some reason. I opened a "bug" on github for this. I will mark as closed, of course, once it is addressed, or someone points me to a fix that I can post on that bug report. -
Morning to all. Just wanted to identify an issue. The current version of LOOT cited in my topic title is force loading an unchecked plug-in after sorting. It's easy for me to fix after sorting, so I'm not whining about it, but for users of SSE that use Helgen Reborn on a new save, it will be an issue even though it's communicated on the mod page, because of this LOOT issue in MO2. That mod requires leaving the plugin unchecked until after getting through Helgen in the opening of a new save game. Is this the kind of thing we should report in github as a bug for El Presidente? I wanted to at least have this in here for other folks trying to figure out the problem. Since MO2 isn't "managing" bsa archives like MO 32bit right now, it's not really what I'd call a serious issue, but I can see newbies, which I was not all that long ago, coming across this problem. Note: if you've landed here trying to figure out why your new game shows nothing but a cart at the beginning because you're not in it, the problem is you might have accidentally re-activated the Helgen Reborn esp after running & applying a LOOT sort. Just untick the Helgen Reborn plug-in in MO2 and you should be fine.

Adding Skyrim Performance Monitor to MO2
tjax323 replied to tjax323's question in Mod Organizer Support
That makes me feel better. Well, it is beta, so I guess it's possible it still needs more time in the oven. At least it's here so El Presidente can be aware. Thank God s/he made the progress they did. NMM is not the way to go with a moderate to large load order. -
Adding Skyrim Performance Monitor to MO2
tjax323 replied to tjax323's question in Mod Organizer Support
Thanks. I haven't tried it that way, which I'll do so I can test. I've been trying to set it up consistent with GP's video so that's in an executable within MO. Must be doing something wrong, but I got myself so focused on doing it this way, I forgot I could just go back to the method you posted, which is the way I used to do it in Oldrim prior to GP's video. Thanks!!! -
Good morning & happy holidays to all. I am trying to set up Skyrim Performance Monitor 64 ver1.4 (SPM originally Sir Garmon with install video by GP) set up in MO to run for SSE. I am encountering a crash, however. It is merely the "plug-in" SPM crashing, not MO2. That remains open, stable, and problem-free. I have already set up the file paths prior to attempting this, so I am confused as to why it's happening. I ran SPM on Skyrim32 with MO 1.3.11 without issue. I realize MO2 is a beta. Just curious and identifying something. I like to have my "tools" nicely organized and running before tackling in-game issue diagnosis. Appreciate any help or suggestions.

Thank you El Presidente. The new update seems to have addressed load order issues with the LOOT exe not re-ordering plug-ins. Exactly as advertised. Well done. Just wanted to drop by for no other reason than to say this. Thank you and Merry Xmas!!

Thank you!! Edit to moderator: Was looking to mark as answered, but for some reason I'm not seeing the option on thread to do so.
-
Le Presidente, See you've moved forums here from the Nexus and plan to update MO 2.08 to address a few "bugs". Look forward to it. With time changes and also an edit to the sticky on the Nexus, I'm not sure when "today" is for your post, so I can't tell if the update is still coming or if I missed a small delay with that forum locked. Just looking for clarification. Thanks so much for picking up on MO2 to help out.

Where is W.A.T.E.R and Sparrowprinces other mods ?
tjax323 replied to Rebel47's question in General Skyrim LE Support
SP-- I'm nobody really, but I know I have an awful lot of company in folks loving your mods. Don't know about folks' opinion of your sense of humor, but consider me "in your camp". Glad to hear you'll be back and that you're okay. Hope all is well, and here's hoping you enjoy the holidays! Merry Xmas!! -
Mod Organizer 2 Discussion and Feedback

Thanks, Tech. That at least lets me feel better enough to give it a try. We'll all be switching eventually, and right now I am most comfortable with MO. Thanks for responding. -
Mod Organizer 2 Discussion and Feedback
tjax323 replied to TechAngel85's question in Mod Organizer Support
What do the STEP folks make of the recent MO 2.08 version posted to the Nexus yesterday? It appears to have be an easier install without all the workarounds and a team of folks working on it. I initially thought maybe it was hooey, but from reading the posts on the page, it's looking real... I hope. The "author/ group?" on Nexus is a 1 day-old sign-on, which was why I initially thought it was crap. The github for bug trackers appears to have the same "author/group" name responding and s/he references Tannin under the MO github that looks real. I thought perhaps STEP folks might be able to get in touch with Tannin to see if this team is legit. Mod page on Nexus is MO 2.08b. I'm not trying to accuse anyone, but I just want to check it out first before I jump off NMM. Thanks. Sorry if it's a bother, but I'm beginning to get my hopes up. I far prefer MO over NMM until I can see what Tannin does with the new mod manager-- hopefully in 1st half 2017. -
Suggestions to limit background programs on PC
tjax323 replied to tjax323's topic in Step Banter Inn
Oh holy hell. Ok, what's the emoticon for "duh... whichaway did he go pard... whichaway did he go"? I'm going with that one. Low tech and ought to do the trick. Thanks. Sincerely. Feeling stupid is a bonus I guess. -
Argh! Just crashed, but nothing to do with my setup. iCloud notified me of a need to update by kicking me out of my game, and because I don't run in windowed mode (no alt+tab for me), I was hosed... thus, the "argh". Hadn't saved in a while, so before going back in-game I thought I'd post this. Cripes!!! Does anyone have any recommendation of tweaks/ software that STEP folks use to prevent annoying things like this from happening? Google shows a ton of stuff, but I'd feel better using something someone on STEP recommends.

How does one use an SKSE minidump file to diagnose CTD
tjax323 replied to tjax323's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Thank you, Greg. I'm not sure how much I'll be able to help myself with this stuff, but in the event someone helping me needs a dump file, I appreciate your offering everyone that checks this thread a means to get that without unnecessarily risky behavior. Like you, I don't mean to suggest the above link I cited near the top of this thread is "fly-by-night". As a matter of fact, I see others recommending them, but online privacy & security is only as safe as one makes it - can't be too careful. Much thanks again. -

tjax323 replied to tjax323's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Holy Schnikes! Thanks, Greg. Can't be too careful when it comes to privacy and protection of information. I think I'll probably be okay as I don't save any passwords info in my browser (including financial stuff- use a vault with 2F authentication), but one never knows what one doesn't know. A quick google turned up a lot of download links for a "windbg" program. Could I trouble you for a link you would recommend or feel might be "safe"? As the OP on this thread I feel some measure of responsibility to ensure a "safer" alternative solution is presented. I don't know the dump files will be all that useful from the responses on this thread, but I'd hate to think someone reads this, goes to the link above, and the worst case scenario happens. -

tjax323 replied to tjax323's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Thank you, GrantSP. I'll read that thread in full tomorrow. I may post on it depending on what transpires after my save, but regardless, thank you for the explanation and for the bonus information. I hadn't expected that, so as I originally wrote... bonus. I can verify that I have my SKSE ini set up correctly from running the Sheson's memory block log, but I know from a glance at the first post on the referenced thread you cited, there's more to the whole thing than just that. Thanks again. I feel certain I'll be back. -
How does one use an SKSE minidump file to diagnose CTD
tjax323 posted a question in General Skyrim LE Support
Evening to all. This is my first post on the STEP Project. Please be gentle. After a brief discussion with Michael of Gamer Poets on his recent SKSE video of just a day or two ago, I felt better about posting this here. Briefly, I will say I've been having some CTD issues on a new save for a STEP install. I learned not to use Papyrus logging and caught in the GP video about the mini-dump ability. I generated a .dmp file and found a website to translate it to English (https://www.osronline.com/page.cfm?name=analyze), but as I asked Michael, how do I read this to help myself? I'd be happy to post on the general CTD post in regards to my CTD, but after searching the forum I didn't see anything about using the mini dumps one can enable on the SKSE ini, which is the purpose of this post. I hope I've followed the community guidelines by doing this. So..... Back to the question... if I can't read & use a dump file, then it's not worth much, so does anyone know how to read this thing? I need a decoder ring, man! A copy of my dump file is below. Any navigational assistance on where to go is appreciated. If someone also knows what the CTD problem is from this file... major bonus, though I would think there would me more to it than just this. Unfortunately, I am innately curious, so it gripes me I can't read this sucker. Also, suddenly it occurs to me now I have 2 problems instead of just the CTD. <sigh> I swear this modding stuff is like peeling an onion. <face-palm> Dump file (it's long): [spoiler=SKSE Mini-dump file]* * ******************************************************************************* TRIAGER: Could not open triage file : e:\dump_analysis\program\triage\guids.ini, error 2 *** WARNING: Unable to verify timestamp for XAudio2_6.dll *** WARNING: Unable to verify timestamp for nvd3dum.dll *** ERROR: Module load completed but symbols could not be loaded for nvd3dum.dll TRIAGER: Could not open triage file : e:\dump_analysis\program\triage\modclass.ini, error 2 *** The OS name list needs to be updated! original post) Within this discussion, another person admonishes using the website above in a very generalist sense. He, nor I, levy suggestion or criticism regarding the credibility or reputation of this site; rather, the warning is based on nothing more than online privacy & security "best practices" with personal data... nothing more, nothing less. This individual offers an alternative link to download a debug tool to translate an SKSE dump file without needing to submit any data to an external party (a link from Microsoft no less). I do not want to alter my original post, but felt it important to point this out should anyone read this thread in the future. I have yet to use this alternative as I originally got the translated dump file directly above this edit from the website I mentioned earlier in this post.
