  1. Thanks, I probably should have mentioned this in a thread for the STEP Compilation mod but i was thinking in circles trying to comprehend all of this in the context of my mod setup. I read the DynDOLOD manual pretty thoroughly as well as the readme for ultra trees and decided to give that a shot since my hardware is pretty good. I followed the gamerpoet's video for updating (even though I tried it on a new game), and also the steps in the ultra tree text. I chose these for my mesh settings for 'tree': Mesh mask LOD 4 LOD 8 LOD 16 VWD Grid Referencetree Static LOD4 Static LOD4 Billboard Checked Far LOD Unchanged For the most part, it looks fantastic! Here are some screenshots: https://imgur.com/a/qVnAH I had to increase my default heap memory to its maximum to avoid ILS, but otherwise it runs very smoothly. I did run in to a minor issue with one type of tree. As you can see below the little branches of one type of tree (which turned out to be TreeReachTree02) is purple when far away. I read through a previous conversation in this thread you had with Doryani (who had the same problem with some fort wall LOD) and followed what you had him do. I found the .bto file for the area in question (Tamriel.4-32.12.bto) and in nifscope I found the trees and clicked on one. There are three nodes for each, 1 BSMultiBoundNode, 8 BSMultiBoundNode, and 15 BSMultiBoundNode. All have the BSShaderTextureSet point to three files, textures\dyndolod\lod\dyndolodtreelod.dds (twice) and textures\dyndolod\lod\dyndolodtreelod_n.dds. Both files are in their respective locations. What else should I do? Its just the tops of the trees that are purple, but all of the BSMultiBoundNode's for the entire tree point to the same files.
  2. I have STEP Core + Requiem and a few other (mostly gameplay) mods installed. Everything, including DynDOLOD, was working great. I decided to update a few of the mods (Hunterborn, Campfire, ICAIO, STEP Compilation, etc) and so I decided to update DynDOLOD to 1.47 from 1.46. I did a fresh install following the STEP guide instructions. I am pretty sure that in all the updating something got messed up with the tree billboards. The billboards for these trees include rocks, but those rocks are not there when I actually get closer, as you can see in the second image. I don't think this was happening before, I searched for this tree using its form ID and figured it is supposed to be TreePineForestSnow05. The only .dds file of this tree is in "Step Mod Compilation and v2.2.9.2 Patches\textures\terrain\LODGen\Skyrim.esm", and it does include little rocks on either side. Are the tree billboards supposed to have this? It really doesn't look great because the 'rocks' pop away but the trees don't look so bad (they just need to be darkened). EDIT: Here is my modlist: and plugin list:
  3. Ok, so I found out that the problem is with the steam overlay. Once I turned that off, the odd colors and weird home screen smoke returned to normal. I still am not sure about the Riften wall, but its the only graphics oddity for wall textures that I have found so maybe it was there before and I didn't notice. Thanks everyone for the suggestions.
  4. Well, the smoke was never like this before (I use vividian ENB). In any case, the weirdness isn't restricted to that, see my edited original post for another example. Ya, i did that this morning and same problem. Oh well, I'll mess around with it again to see what exactly is causing the problem. I've noticed lots of stuttering and lower framerates as well.
  5. When was your previous driver released? I went back a few versions to Jan 27th and the problem persists.
  6. Thanks everyone, ill check the SMAA and anisotropy settings when I get home. I did reinstall an older driver from February (i think) and had the same issue, but I also did two updates in between launching Skyrim and had skipped some before that.
  7. I have been playing skyrim with STEP 2.2.9.2 Core + Extended + Requiem + vividian ENB packs for a few months. I got everything working very well with only the occasional CTD and no recurring problems. I hadn't played in a few weeks and started it up again last night and had some weird graphics issues. FIrst, the smoke on the home screen had a really poor resolution. See this screenshot, for example. Secondly, when loading a save game the overall colors were off, as if the contrast and saturation were messed up. Third, I noticed--when outside in Riften--that some of the stone textures in the walls were extremely poor. Not everything in the walls was like this, in other words, the mossy and green parts of the wall texture seemed fine, but the stone bits were just blobs. I have a MSI GTX 970 and a intel core i5 4460 with an Asus H97M-E motherboard. I double checked and the skyrim and skyrimprefs ini files were as recommended by STEP. I had updated my graphics driver recently and restored it to a previous one to check. The trouble was the same. I can't think of anything other than an update to Windows and an update to my graphics driver that could have changed things. As I said, reinstalling a previous graphics driver that worked resorted in the same problem. What else could I do to figure out the issue?
  8. Mr_Moal, how is your Requiem build at the moment? Anything to update? I am about to try to install the Requiem pack as well following your guide and i wanted to know if there was anything else to update. Is it working well?
