Thanks, I found it now. Nothing here that sticks out as causing an obvious problem, it all looks good. Thanks for the tip on navigating through xedit, that helped a lot. I do have the latest ll patch and redid my bp and sp, so those shouldn't be a problem. I checked for errors and found one in the BP from the merged SAFO - Frostfall.esp, but it was skooma so it shouldn't have affected Ulfberth anyway. At least it's only him, so far, but it's an annoying glitch to troubleshoot.

Ok, first issue I've had: Immediate ctd whenever I ask to see Ulfberth War-Bear's inventory. I can choose any other speech option just fine but when I ask what he's selling he says "best blah blah blah" and then ctd right before the inventory screen opens. I've tested with every other merchant I've found and don't have any issues (in Whiterun and Riverwood, at least). I checked his record and it's fine. Something in his inventory, maybe? Problem is I don't know how to see what's in there that might be causing the issue. Any thoughts on how to troubleshoot this? Thanks.

One of the users of Quick Light made a script which changes the activate key to the middle mouse button. He sent it to me and it works great and is much easier to use, without having to worry about not facing an npc, item, object, etc... It also can be activated/deactivated during conversations now. He said I could share it here, if anyone is interested, but wasn't sure about the Nexus rules about such things. All he did was adjust one of the scripts to change the activate key, so I don't see why it would be an issue, but want to respect his wishes and make sure it's ok to share first. Is this something I can share?

Thanks, Lexy, that's a huge help. I got to test the guide a little bit before the new update and I can't believe how well it runs. I even threw as much extra as I could at it, such as 4k everything, dyndolod high, warzones, populated hell, etc..., basically trying to break it and I couldn't, it runs so smooth now that it's 64 bit. You all have done an amazing job on putting this together. I can't imagine that it was easy. The only thing I noticed is that Interesting NPCs Overhaul overrides some of the npc textures, such as eyebrows and hair from salt and wind. The most problematic, for me, at least, as I'm trying different texture packs, is the malebody_1_sk.dds file. Personally I just moved the "New followers and NPCs" above "NPC Retextures" and moved the Salt and Wind folders to the "Beards, Brows, and Hair" section. Thanks for all of the hard work! You and the crew kick serious ass!

Also, when building the Smash Patch it says to highlight all from update to conflict resolution merged, but then it says bashed patch should be smash.forceall. I have CRM before the BP, so the BP isn't part of the SP. Is this correct and the smash.forceall is being applied to the BP, even tho it's not in the SP, or should CRM be after BP in my load order? Thanks.

When we set the bash patch, should the esps only have what you list or do we leave the other options as well? SAFO.esp already has delev, invent, and relev in the list as selected in the bash tags panel (which is weird bc it has delev, invent, names, relev, and stats in the description panel). Should it now only have delev selected? Thanks.

To add to the earlier conversation about city mods, Windhelm HD is excellent, much better than the pics suggest. It gives the city a real frozen feel. The author also has some great mods for Whiterun, Sky Haven, and Markarth (though it was a tough decision but I still stuck with Frank's White Markarth). Also, I've been testing the new face to face mod and it works great. Very simple and responsive. I also found that Blocksteal Redux has an SE version up on the LE page.

I double checked and I set up SFO according to the guide but I still have purple trunks on the snow pines. Any suggestions? Also, does FISSES affect a lot of mods at this point? It seems that Disparity LE works after changing it to 44, but only if FISSES is not active. I tested it briefly and it certainly loads with MCM and gave me the appropriate starting values, so it seems good. Personally I'm willing to lose the time gained with an initial game using FISSES for Disparity but want to make sure I'm not overlooking something. Thanks.

One solution I haven't seen mentioned is using enhancer instead of ele. It would easily take care of the compatibility issues and it looks damn good. I haven't tried enhancer in a long time and was surprised how good it looked when I swapped it in. Interiors are marginally brighter, well enough to see, and the only real draw back, depending on your preference, is the fires don't emit such a red glow. I also noticed what a difference the choice of enb makes. I get the impression that everyone is using their enb of choice, which is great, but the difference between phoenixvivid and nvt, for example, is huge, in terms of the level of interior darkness. Even with enhancer instead of ele PV was really dark in corners without a light source where NVT was much easier to see. I've looked through the past comments and the other mediums and haven't seen these mentioned so I thought I'd throw them out there for consideration: Tamriel Reloaded Landscapes BC7: 4k with BC7 compression. It looks amazing. I'm testing it with Nordic Snow, which I know used to be part of the guide, and am blown away by the clarity. Northern Realistic Clouds: I also tried Ethereal Clouds but it looks too defined, more like a painting than an immersive environment. NRC looks great with the lighting/weather choices of the guide. Smooth Sky Mesh Finally, has Character Creation Overhaul or Open Cities been considered? I didn't see them mentioned anywhere. I prefer Diversity by krypt but until it gets ported CCO might be nice. OC can be problematic in terms of compatibility but it's amazing how well it runs in SE. I do see Music Merge is being considered and I am a big fan of that mod. It's great for variety, especially for longtime players. If I recall correctly you can even swap the different music mods in and out, giving a lot of control depending on mood or if you've just listened to a particular music mod for awhile. Sorry if these have been discussed. I did try to do my homework first.

I've been digging through the ENB files and there are a few that affect interior lighting, for those who think it's too dark (of which I half agree, just not enough to give up elfx for ). enbseries.ini -> ambientlightingintensityinteriorday and ambientlightingintensityinteriornight enbeffect.fx.ini -> brightness - interior and contrast - interior The enbeffect.fx.ini is most easily tweaked in game by bringing up the enb config (freeze game with console, then shift+enter. Saving is a pain...you save, then apply. Or maybe it's apply, then save, which would make more sense but I'm fairly certain it's the nonsensical order.). I hope this helps!

It shouldn't be caused by ELFX-Enhancer since it's not part of the guide. If you're using Enhancer you're going to have seriously dark interiors. Hey Lexy, I'm back at Skyrim! Please don't drop ELFX, it adds so much to the ambiance. I've played with a few other ENBS and your recommendation of PhoenixVivid is my favorite but I noticed it also has the darkest interiors. Maybe you could recommend a different ENB for those who prefer a more lit interior. Re-Engaged and Intrigued both fit that bill.
