  1. Made it through full STEP Extended 2.2.9.2, and I do still get Clippy!Ralof about one start in two.
  2. I'm not all the way through the STEP process myself. I'll try the intro a few times at the end to see what happens.
  3. Actually, I think I have it resolved! While most of the solutions I found out there recommended setting fMouseHeadingXScale and fMouseHeadingYScale to be equal, what I actually needed was to crank the YScale way up to counteract the massive discrepancy in how the game was reading the two axes. I have XScale at 0.02 and YScale at 0.2, that is, the Y movement scaled at a 10x factor of the X, and it's almost there--I still wobble side to side as I look up and down because the X is still a bit twitchy by comparison to the Y. I may need to reduce the overall look sensitivity some while pumping the Y sensitivity still further. I'll keep fine-tuning as I work through benchmarks. Phew!
  4. Tried this evening: cranking up fMouseHeadingSensitivity to a whopping .15, and using an entirely different mouse. Still no love. The ridiculous mouse sensitivity level let me whip my head from side to side with a mere twitch of the mouse, but up/down pitch still felt like steering a tank. Changing mice did nothing whatsoever. I guess I'm resigned to using a controller, now, but if anybody's got better ideas, I'm listening!
  5. I'm trying to get up and running with STEP 2.2.9.2, but I'm finding that I have a more fundamental issue with Skyrim's playability that I need to resolve first if I'm to proceed. The up/down mouse look is ridiculously unresponsive, such that I need to drag the mouse across the desk two or three times to get a mere few degrees of pitch. Side-to-side look seems to work fine, but any vertical motion is pulling teeth. My system specs - I'm getting around 35 FPS during benchmarks at the moment, which isn't spectacular, but ought to be within the playable range. I've attempted the following fixes gleaned from around the Web: Turning off the 360 gamepad in SettingsUnplugging my 360 gamepad entirelySetting bMouseAcceleration to 0 in skyrimprefs.ini > ControlsSetting fMouseHeadingYScale and fMouseHeadingXScale to 0.02 in skyrim.ini > ControlsSetting fMouseHeadingSensitivity to 0.05 in skyrimprefs.ini > ControlsTurning off "Enhance mouse pointer precision" in Windows settingsTurning off vertical sync by setting iPresentInterval to 0 in skyrim.ini > Display, and EnableVSync to False in enblocal.ini > EngineNone of these have had a noticeable effect on vertical look using the mouse. Any other ideas out there? If I can't get this sorted, I guess my only option is to use the 360 controller for gameplay, which precludes using a number of cool things that require keybindings. That would make me very sad, but at last I'd get to play the game--I can't imagine trying to get through it with such an unresponsive mouse.
  6. https://forum.step-project.com/topic/2378-user-feedback-post-here/page-2?do=findComment&comment=147201 - A comment from the overall STEP feedback thread noting that this mod can cause clipping issues on the Ralof NPC.
  7. If this turns out to work well and be reasonably usable, it would be a fantastic addition to STEP/SR. A good optional step at the end of the process to collapse things down for more room in the mod list.
  8. Cool, thanks for the input, everyone! For the record, I'm not opposed to nudity in principle; I used a nude mod in Oblivion for quite a while. If there were a gameplay reason for it--a needs mod that encouraged bathing, perhaps, or a Loverslab style mod that introduced cutscene sexytimes to marriage quests and whatnot--I'd be all for it. But under basically vanilla gameplay, the most common scenario for seeing the nude textures is when looting fallen enemies' armor, which personally unsettled me (do I really want to form the habit of getting my jollies by staring at nude corpses?) and struck me as unimmersive (why doesn't anyone in Tamriel wear clothing under their armor, or why is my mighty hero looting everyone's underpants?). So I appreciate the tips about non-nude options. I think even with bikinis, the UNP style bodies would be offputting, though. Porn-star bodies would likely be as rare in Tamriel as they are in the real world. In fact, your average resident of Skyrim, chugging mead and chopping wood on a daily basis, would be much more likely to be thick-set and muscular than wasp-waisted and gangly. So thanks for the tip about CNHF, Luinithil, that looks right up my alley! What's the support like, as far as armor mods to match?
  9. You know you've been playing too much Skyrim when... ...you get the impulse to harvest all the wildflowers by the side of the road. ...your fiancee remarks that cooking is chemistry, and you reply with, "Yeah, why doesn't cooking raise your Alchemy skill, anyway?" ...you rate your current state of hunger/thirst/tiredness according to the setup of your favorite Needs mod. 10. I'm awaiting a hardware upgrade, which probably won't be for a few months yet. When that happens, I'll take a look at the then-current versions of STEP vs. SR and see which one appeals more!
  11. Down the road when I get some hardware upgrades, I'm considering building Skyrim via SR instead of base STEP. I have mixed feelings about female body replacers, though, and would rather like to skip them if I can. So I'm wondering: - Is there some central role the body replacers play in SR? If I skip those and mods that are add-ons to them, is anything else in the guide going to break? - If these do occupy a linchpin place in the guide, would it be feasible to do the Dimon mod but not Blessed? From looking at the mod descriptions, Blessed just increases the bust size of UNP characters; if I'd likely choose one of the less top-heavy options under Dimon UNP, is there any point to adding Blessed? 12. What is it you're still looking for? I've reread the OP a couple of times and the question isn't quite clear. Probably not necessary to bump your thread on a daily basis...
  13. I have the purple nails problem with crates too--I'll see about restoring the default texture there, thanks! Also showing as purple for me in Whiterun: - Some characters' teeth. Just saw it on a Battle-Born noble. - Bars or planks sticking out of the blacksmith's forge
  14. You know, I hadn't thought of that--manually changing screen resolution when using Borderless Window. I might give that a try my own self.

I spoke with z929669 in PM, and they suggested I start a thread here. I'd like to give back to STEP in some way, and wiki editing is likely my best bet. Are there some odds and ends awaiting love and attention I could help out with?
