  1. Hello :-). Last time I played Skyrim was like 2-4 years ago. Then ESO happened and yea... Back then, I tried to find a way to combine Morrowloot with SR:LE + various other packs at that time - and had all kinds of problems. I recently got a GTX 1070, and after some lollygagging around on step I stumbled upon this gem. Thanks so much for sharing your project! I tried to do some research before posting but there is a lot of new stuff to take in. I had two questions before I start a 15+ hour project of remodding skyrim. 1. One thing that bothered me most about Skyrim (and Oblivion) was how all armor was given as loot. I feel strongly that only bosses and certain hidden spots in the world are where where the best loot is (ebony +). It really ruins one important aspect and potential reward for heavy exploration. Is it possible for a person with a quite small knowledge on conflict resolution like me to integrate a mod like Morrowloot (or an equivalent) into? I saw it was once apart of this guide at one time back in October 2016 using a search. 2. In Skyrim (and Oblivion too if I recall), one new thing they did was have enemy's level with you. I have mixed feelings about it all, but just want to know how the game feels as you progress when using this guide. Does the game (with this guide installed, or maybe the requemified version) ever have you come across an area that is very hard to impossible early in the game, so that later you can one day come back and beat with ease? I guess it really bothered me in Oblivion how everything felt like it was the same difficulty (If I even recall correctly). Thanks again for your response
  2. I would say now is the time to start a new game. PcaPP 1.4 has a good amount of SR:LE, REGS, MO patched up. And there are separate compatibility patches for Per Ma at Book Covers Skyrim - Compatibility Patch Collection for SR:LE, and Spectraverse - Magic of the Magna-Ge , Apocalypse - Magic of Skyrim, Thunderchild - Epic Shouts and Immersion, and Dwemertech in REGS/MO. The mods I know of that aren't yet patched up are Lore Weapon Expansion and Morrowloot from MO. To my knowledge there is nothing game breaking with all the patches at this point. Also, I think Neovalen said he plans to at least share his setup with PerMa with us at some point in the future which will patch up most of the loose ends. It would be very nice to one day have a SR:LE + REGS+ MO + PerMa patch (or more ambitiously a Step Extended+ SR:LE + REGS+ MO + PerMa + Follower Mods+ Civil War Overhaul patch?. With the arrival of Perkus Maximus, I think we are in the golden age of skyrim modding.
  3. Hello and thank you for reading this. My main goal is to optimize my skyrim experience. With a SR:LE+REGS+MO+PerMa build, I think that I now pushed experience to the limit so I upgraded from a i7 930 to i5 4690. I am going to reinstall windows. I have 3 ssd's, a 128 gb samsung 840 EVO, and two 64 GB OCZ Agility 3 SSD. I currently have windows+skyrim+mod organizer on a raid 0 setup, and I have read that it is a horrible pain, if not almost impossible, to transfer this setup to a new motherboard. Now, it is well known that skyrim with windows with mods makes a very large page file (mine gets as large as 10 gb with skyrim on, 1.3 gb before skyrim starts), and I read that it is best to let windows manage this. With this in mind, what would be optimal for my new build? I am trying to minimize the stuttering caused from reading on disk while playing and loading times, things like that. Now my skyrim folder + mod organizer = 67 gb, so I can't stick that on just one of my Agility SSD. I imagine this getting bigger in the future Option 1: Put skyrim + mod organizer+ windows on a raid_0 as before. I think this option is a bad idea, but still wondering if it is most optimal. Option 2: Put Windows on one of the Agility SSD and Skryim on the Samsung 840 EVO. Option 3: Put skyrim + mod organizer+ windows on the Samsung 840 EVO Option 4: Put skyrim + mod organizer on raid_0 and then windows on the Samsung 840 EVO. And in the case of option 2 or 4, should I force the page file to be on the same SSD as skyrim? My main concern here is that if I let Windows manage the page file (which I think is the general consensus as to best option) then it will probably store the page file on the same SSD that windows is on and NOT on the SSD that Skyrim is on. I guess what I am most unsure about it the following: would it be faster to read and write from another drive or same drive then what the application is on? Or on another note, would it be better to just get 16-32 gb of ram and have no page file? I am interested in your opinion, and your current setup.
  4. I just wanted to say thanks so much for everyone's work on this pack. I have been doing a SR:LE + REGS + MO + Perkus Maximus build for the last month (while Per Ma has been in beta), and PerMa integrates very well into this pack. Perhaps in time the skyre portion should be eliminated from this pack and replaced with PerMa and it's patches? Most of the work should be cut out for PerMa integration into this pack. The PerMa patches will likely include morrowloot in a newer version at https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/59257/?, since it was one of the options in a poll on the beta page of which mods should have a PerMa patch. For the most part though Morrowloot seems be working alright without a patch, but there are some records that are not carried over to the patchus maximus file.
  5. That is a great idea. Currently, I have a SR:LE+REGS+MO + PerMA build, and it is stable with a random ctd every four or so hours. *Most* if not all REGS mods shouldn't need a patch for PerMa. Many of the needed patches for SR:LE are here https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/59257/?, and soon this will also include Obis and maybe 1 or 2 more mods in SR:LE. There is more that needs to be patched for SR:LE though. Also somewhere in the nexus forums is a post about where you should put the different esp's having to do with perkus maximus. Note that at the moment, the patch for SR:LE and REGS needs some work and Nearox is in charge of that, but the game should be stable without a REGS-SR:LE patch.
  6. Thanks I will try that in a bit when I get home. Personally I think the green square/ orange square design works pretty well. It is pretty exciting to have a (almost) fully modded stable Oblivion. I am interested in how the Nehrim total conversion will get incorporated in whenever Soire returns.
  7. The installation process won't necessarily be painless, but everything in the STEP guide is written very well. And, by the way, there was a time long ago where mods such as Skyrim HD were in STEP. If you search the forums you can probably find out why it was eventually removed between two versions. Also after you complete the STEP:Core install and want something a little heavier as a base, be sure to take a look at SR:LE.
  8. Thanks for the reply! I wasn't sure whether to make a new post and then later I tried to delete that edit but couldn't after figuring it out. Either way now I understand how to use Wyre Bash which is really nice. Since MO is the primary mod manager for Skyrim, I never had to learn much about Wyre Bash past the bashed patch prior to modding only skyrim, and I imagine a bunch of newcomers who stumble onto your guide after the next steam sale or after completing a STEP install will be in the same boat. Reading a few parts of the Wrye Bash guide in this wiki was very important (This is almost mentioned in your guide to do so). I ended up installing everytihng in your guide besides a few of the things in red, as well as the TESLODgen kinda scares me. It looks really good and I was getting great fps on a 7970+ i7 930! I will however wait to do a complete playthrough until this guide is complete. On another note, I tried making the batched patch and evidently did something wrong. I will edit this with more details when I get home.
  9. Hello there, I am new and this is my first post. I really like what you are doing here. I have tried modding Oblivion in the past following other guides, but always had huge stability issues. I think this could shape up to be THE ultimate guide to a stable modded Oblivion. I wanted to let you know my comments and a few small possible edits to the guide so far. When cleaning the DLC, I did not get the exact number of UDR and ITM that is in the guide for I think 3 of them. The only one I remember not being the exact number of UDR and ITM as in the guide was Knights.esp. For Oblvion Stuttor Remover: I think that " For both variants: open sr_Oblivion_Stutter_Remover.ini in <Steam>SteamAppscommonOblivionOBSEPlugins and adjust following " has a minor typo with Data missing and should be changed to: " For both variants: open sr_Oblivion_Stutter_Remover.ini in <Steam>SteamAppscommonOblivionDataOBSEPlugins and adjust following " Hopefully I am not wasting your time. Thank you very much for your effort so far in making this guide! Edit: I am currently stuck on installing Streamline as in the guide. I have never used wyre bash for this purpose when modding skyrim and I am sure that I am missing something silly. I can't seem to get Wyre Bash to notice that I have modified the data folder. From what I understand from the guide I should: 1. Go to Under Wyre Bash->Installers, right click->Moniter External->Hit OK once in the window that talks about requiring two refreshes of the data folder (not sure that they mean by "two" refreshers???), I then get a new window saying "You may install your mod, when installation is complete, press Ok". 2. Install Streamline+Patch 3. Press ok again in window in Wyre Bash But then I get a new window saying no changes were made in data folder, although their is now a Streamline folder and .esp that wyre bash sees when going back to the mods tab.
