ENB Recommendations and Framerate Suggestions

If you mean inside cities, then I have never heard of any issues in those performance wise. Not counting the odd stutter here and there due to many actors in some cases. -
SFO issue (continued from another thread)

I tried to increase the resolution of the texture to 4k.. but nope if you want more transparency you are most likely going to have to recreate the alpha level of that particular texture from the ground up. However there are two pine branch textures. vurt_pine01 and vurt_pine02. 02 is the blocky one, while the other has a slightly different color, but looks more transparent. If you make a backup of vurt_pine02 and then make a copy of vurt_pine01 and rename that to vurt_pine02. Then that texture will apply instead. It is not entirely created for that purpose, so the trees look a little bit funny, but you get more transparency. -
Actually if you want to do yourself a favor, then once you have installed the AV packages once, then make a copy of the AV packages folder with the json files inside. Overwrite with any resized textures you might have, and then every time you reinstall AV you just have to copy in this folder instead of going through the process all over again from the start. You can also remove all those pink textures etc. that you do not want so you never have to setup AV again but just press a button.

SFO issue (continued from another thread)
Aiyen replied to DoYouEvenModBro's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Okay the look is intentional. The one you compare with is from a bush that is of a higher "resolution" The bigger pine trees have several parts in one texture, hence the resolution of every part is rather low. The bush has just one part, hence it will look like it has a higher resolution. If you can stand a tiny bit funny looking pine trees, you can replace vurt_pine02 with a copy of 01 and you will get a branch that is more transparent. Other then that then you need a higher resolution of those two textures to make the resolution of each individual texture contained within higher. -

The relevant textures are Vurt_pine01 and Vurt_pine02 for your issue. One is more thick then the other, so it might be completely normal. Also if you are running with an ENB, then depending on EgdeAA and DoF settings you will get a more blurry pine structure which can wash out the texture a bit. Also the texture I have looks fine.. but guess I could check ingame in detail this evening. Do honestly not recall the finer details of the pine structure. -
Anything above 580 or similar will provide 60+ FPS in the vanilla game. The best value is as monty says the 600 series.. specifically the 660 3Gb. It has the best cost/performance ratio. The better models in the 600 series have a bit better performance, but the cost in power consumption is also comparatively higher. Just my upgrade from a 260 to a 660 is showing on my powerbill ;)

Strange. Only time I have the issue of no MCM menu is when I start the game using the coc command in the console. Starting a new game properly always starts up all mods correctly.

Any core i5 or i7 will do.. they are the current best ones on the market for gaming purposes. For memory then just having 8 or more Gb should be enough. Gfx card is only relevant if you want to run with ENB etc. Most cards higher then GTX400+ will run vanilla skyrim at 60FPS without a sweat. An SSD always helps if you want to throw the money after it. In your case then just getting a GFX with 2Gb + would do the trick.

Sadly RP in online games gets progressively worse the more people are playing in the same world at any one time! Not counting all the trolls that just want to try to ruin it for people of course! I personally only ever had a few good online RP experiences on the LOTR online RP server... but man the admins there where trigger happy to the extreme, but it also created a very pleasant and nice atmosphere for people to RP. Was actually fun to see parties of higher level people running around in the lower level areas enjoying themselves. A bit strange to talk to them if you where asking about a quest location etc.... since suddenly you are part of their story! But I also once got rescued by a high level party that saw my character in distress ( I was running for dear life) that was a cool thing, and as payment I played along for a while... good times.

Poor performance with good system spec
Aiyen replied to rootsrat's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Would be very strange if it is not due to lacking resources. With that many scripted mods on your list then depending on what your doing ingame, then the portion of memory reserved for scripts can get rather large. Especially combat increase the amount of scripts running, and if the CPU is waiting for other cycles to finish then you get stuttering. Which in turn becomes freezes since the papyrus engine is rather sensitive. Also with only 4Gb, then it would be almost impossible for the game to use more then 2Gb at any point since the OS would take up the rest. Hence almost all texture swapping would have to go to disk... and you have your Skyrim on a slow HDD, so that would produce even more stuttering. I am positive that just getting another 4Gb RAM block to put in your machine would solve quite a bit of the issue. Edit: I do not think you will gain much from going lower in visual quality, since you would still need to wait for the about 200-500Mb of new textures being swapped when changing cells. This is a rough estimate from my testing of cells that have a bit of everything, forest, winter forest tundra etc. The more diverse the region the larger the amount of new textures (obviously!).. but also the larger the stuttering. -
Most of the changes made are because of the following reasons. 1: A mod have been made without all the DLC, hence there are some entries missing. 2: A mod have been made using an older version of Skyrim, hence some entries have been patched by Bethesda but are not in the mod because it was made before the patch. 3: A mod have not been made with the unofficial patches in mind, hence the changes there are not carried over into the mod. (Since all mods load after the unofficial patches, then in order to preserve the changes the mod needs the unofficial entries to be preset. Otherwise a given change might be restored to vanilla values, and bugs that where solved will happen again.) On their own most of these inconsistencies do not cause any large instability of incompatibility etc. But when you have a mod list as large as SR then they very quickly add up and cause stability issues. In order to reduce this then the changes are made. In the long run then perhaps someone will make a filter that could make sure that a given mod always has the correct values from all DLC and unofficial patches, but for now we have to do it manually, entry for entry. Wild edits, are normally due to a mod author or just the CK have saved some entries that are in no way related to the mod at all, but has slipped through the cranks anyways. The cleaning filter just tests if a mod has completely identical entries with the Vanilla masters. If they are identical there is no reason to have them in the mod at all. Someone else is doubtlessly going to go into more detail then I am! But hope it answers your questions somewhat!

Please Recommend Which step I should use

I find that temperature impressive, since most CPU´s/GPU´s have auto shutdown near the 90C if I am not mistaken. Also talk about lap burns when having that monster on top of you! -
Please Recommend Which step I should use
Aiyen replied to waltonsghost's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Just to add to the chorus. Since it is a laptop then it is not so much a matter of "Can I run this" ... you most likely can since that laptop is quite powerful. It is more a matter of "How long you can run it" due to the very limited cooling abilities of laptops. But as Rootsrat says, then start high and then lower settings depending on how crazy your fans start spinning. -
ENB Recommendations and Framerate Suggestions
Aiyen replied to phazer11's question in Post-Processing Support
This is what I use.... it gives about 3-5 FPS on my system depending on location. If you reduce the values further then I guess you could get more. I also have shadows on grass enabled in the skyrimprefs... If you remove that you also get some extra performance. Skyrim.ini grass settings. Skyrimprefs.ini -
ENB Recommendations and Framerate Suggestions

You wrote in the General support thread with the exact same issue. I responded there. There is a thread called ENB issues, and one called Lighting, Weather and ENB. When I say thread I mean within the Skyrim Revisited subforum... sorry should have been more clear on that. -
ENB Recommendations and Framerate Suggestions
Aiyen replied to phazer11's question in Post-Processing Support
Answered in the other thread! ;) -
This has already been attempted phazer11. The problem as I also wrote in the other thread is that you cannot just compare script mods memory use like you can with textures. Textures are a fixed number that is the same for all. Script mods are dynamic and change their use depending on what happens ingame. So it might not be because they cause bloat, they just perform as they are written and hence require so and so much memory to do it. Bloat by scripts are normally a result of scripts not getting cleaned properly after having been executed. This could have happened for any number of reasons. However most of these are normally cleaned when changing from interior to exterior, or to a city. At least they should be. So at the end of the day the easiest thing to do is to just lower the amount of memory that textures take up to make sure that all the script mods have what they need.Â

ENB Recommendations and Framerate Suggestions
Aiyen replied to phazer11's question in Post-Processing Support
It is also something that has puzzled me... however I do not think it is possible to really understand how the game assigns memory unless one had full access to the source code. Another curious thing is the following. Back a few months ago when we started doing ddsopting etc. to bring down the memory use we ran into a funny thing. Two SR installs.. with the same texture load and install sizes etc. one person has a 2Gb card, another a 4Gb card. The person with 2Gb reports one VRAM figure, the guy with 4Gb another. Even though they stand in the same spot ingame and have loaded exactly the same amount of resources. Both games are stable etc. However if one only had 1Gb of VRAM one is just not able to even load the same scene without the game going CTD, freezing etc. (I tried and verified that using my old 768Mb card). So VRAM has something to say, but its effect on stability is largely overrated on several forums and sites around the web. Also when you are using ENB then it reserves about 100-200Mb of VRAM. Edit: Also what Fcqt said about mods... everything adds something obviously. The more space textures take up, the less room there is for scripts etc. This makes them unstable, and unstable scripts result in computation errors, which result in entries in memory which are not there, which cause any program to just crash. Also a script mod will have many scripts activated at one point, while at another not so many... they are dynamic depending on what you do ingame. So it is more or less impossible to say how much any given script mod uses. At best you could make a very rough estimate... but it would be really hard to compare mods that way since the basis for comparison is really fuzzy. -
ENB Recommendations and Framerate Suggestions
Aiyen replied to phazer11's question in Post-Processing Support
Since the issue is also preset without ENB on then it has to do with either a texture, or a mod. See if the issues are also present with vanilla.. if they are not then it is a mod. The fire one would then be due to either the fire mod, or the fire effect mod. Try to disable either of those and see if the issue persists. The seam might be related to a texture issue. If it goes away in vanilla then it properly is. -
Textures to downsize to avoid 3gb CTD?
Aiyen replied to DoYouEvenModBro's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Curious... one would think that the two there would share the same texture. My guess would be that one of those is from a bush... which have different textures then the trees. If you reduced everything in the tress folder then you most likely also reduced the texture with the branches which would explain what you are seeing. You should be able to just take the old texture file and replace it manually and get the higher resolution back for that single texture. -

ENB Recommendations and Framerate Suggestions
Aiyen replied to phazer11's question in Post-Processing Support
There should not be any fire up there until after the breath... and that fire will stay for a long time due to one of the mods in SR... forgot which. As for it shining through objects, then normally that would be because you failed to setup your ini file for ENB. If it is not then the following two would be worth checking out. Make sure you are using the correct driver version if you are using an Nvidia card. Also make sure all hardware AA etc. is disabled or you will get stuff like this happening depending on driver and ENB version. Also in general the seam you are seeing looks like some sort of shadow issue. In general it looks like you do not even have SSAO enabled. If you have it enabled then one of the two option above is most likely the cause. If you do not then it is quite interesting, and perhaps even a bug. Would need more info in that case in order to help. -
Skyrim Revisited Pre-Release Feedback
Aiyen replied to Neovalen's topic in Skyrim Revisited (retired)
CptJesus: It could be due to any number of issues. However if you already crash and freeze during helgen then memory issues are properly a good place to start since that area is a beast in terms of memory use, and it is really sensitive about everything really. Also you say you have setup SR... but that would mean you are also using alternate start... then the issue with helgen could well be related to just that mod. -

My guess would be the sheer size and complexity of your install. Properly something went wrong in the merging. Or since it is SkyRe patches then it properly just did not like what you did.
