I don't have any other d3d9.dll ...
-
if I use the wrapper version my game won't even load.

Ok, so I eventually reached the point I just submitted to my computer. Somehow ENB does 100%ly not work with my pc, at least not this way. I followed the instructions as far as there were any. -> deinstalled every lighting mod I had active and dynavision. -> installed the newest ENB 0.112 or sth like that. Used the injector version. -> installed superb ENB RL for testing's sake. -> loaded up a new game from an inside location and everything seemed alright (although some really bright surfaces) until I exited the room to outside... -> OMFG! what the hell has happened to skyrim. EVERYTHING is flashing madly. I can't even explain how bad it is. Just imagine every structure blinking on your screen. And, of course I only got 25 FPS. Well that ain't the problem. I rather had a problem with reasoning why everything kept flashing... Has anyone encountered similar problems? I'm kinda freaked out right now...

Black Circles, z-fighting and texture shimmering
torminater replied to torminater's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Yes. As far as I can tell I've gotten z-fighting in areas I didn't have it before applying STEP even without any lighting mods. I guess the z-buffer isn't concepted well enough so it can handle all the additional modded information from extreme quality mountains or the like. it's just really annoying. -

well, if you want to set up your laptop OPTIMALLY follow this guide. https://www.tweakguides.com/files/TGTC_7_1.3.zip It's the best one I've found so far. -
Black Circles, z-fighting and texture shimmering
torminater replied to torminater's question in General Skyrim LE Support
well... then try this: FIRST OF ALL: Look at your ini and look for all the values you have changed for your personal ini-config. sometimes only opening the skyrim launcher can revert your ini-modifications. 1. have you tried to completely delete RLwC and ENB files from the skyrim folder? Test it. 2. then revert to Vanilla Skyrim, backup everything, revert to original ini-files. NO TWEAKING. Test it. 3. Apply only my tweaks. Test it. 4. Try out different driver versions of your graphic card. Test it. 5. Reapply everything except lighting mods. Test it. 6. Reapply lighting mods. Test it. Yup, it's a lot of work, but that's most likely the only way you can narrow it down onto something specific... I'ld really love to here your insights!!! -
Yup used it and we also had some chatting about it. Most of the additional "interesting" features don't work and the scaling of values by always 150% without screenshot documentation is rather useless. Also the tool sometimes really messes up some things. Test it with care.

Stumped. Huge FPS drop - No config change
torminater replied to Holymartyr's question in General Skyrim LE Support
well either it is caused by this fix or sth else. ^^ have you checked your background processes? ESPECIALLY check for Realtek processes eating up 25% of your cpu. There is an easy fix for that. -
Black Circles, z-fighting and texture shimmering
torminater replied to torminater's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Well then that is interesting. have you tried a vanilla skyrim setup yet? at least there I have the least z-fighting. otherwise you would have to know all the different mods and tweaks you applied in the meantime. BUT: it seemed to me, that somehow my z-fighting got worse and worse from time to time whilst I actually didn't change anything. Since this is quite impossible i think i just got a whole lot more sensitive to it. Even as I started a whole new game I was only thinking about z-fighting xD -

RLwC is known to amplify the flickering effect unless you use the vanilla lighting option. -
I have no clue as how to set up ENB. I just tried it out with the injector not altering ANYTHING and HELL that was the worst skyrim I have EVER SEEN AT ANY TIME...

CPU affinity - two different approaches
torminater replied to Vond's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Well, I settled for this one here: https://www.amazon.com/Samsung-S23A550H-23-Inch-Class-Monitor/dp/B004TPTVJI/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1337344044&sr=8-2 I like'd the design and the price wasn't too high either (in euros everything is mostly 1.5x as much!)... I'm not going for any 3D-monitor since i really don't like stuff like that. Just no need for it xD -
CPU affinity - two different approaches
torminater replied to Vond's question in General Skyrim LE Support
what screen do you recommend? I'm not really budget limited on my monitor, since i wouldn't buy another for the next 5 years probably :D I think 1920:1080 would be a fine resolution, since I don't think my vram could handle a widescreen setup with my current skyrim config. -

torminater replied to Vond's question in General Skyrim LE Support
it's the highest possible resolution ;D -
CPU affinity - two different approaches
torminater replied to Vond's question in General Skyrim LE Support
To be honest, I've got my monitor since 6 years and it hasn't failed me once. I don't think the graphical quality can be increased by that much, that I need a new monitor. although I have been thinking about buying a 3d-monitor when the technology is tempting enough and support infrastructure is experienced enough :) -

So, I actually kept on my AntiVirus (Avira) because I forgot about it, but I haven't encountered a single problem besides negligible vram stuttering, some z-fighting on whiterun walls and on distant mountains and a little lag drawing my weapons whilst sprinting. Other than that: PERFECT. I think the TerrainManager Values break your game if you overdo the tweaking like me. I actually had them implemented for testing purposes only and forgot about them. CPU affinity - two different approaches
torminater replied to Vond's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Well, I cannot say for sure, what causes it, but I have a stable game now. SO freaking awesome. Also the vram stuttering has been decreased by an incredible amount. What I did are the following: -> OC'ed Graphics cards without raising voltage. -> deactivated Distant Detail -> reduced TerrainManager fBlockDistance Values from 1,000,000; 300,000; 100,000 to 500,000; 300,000; 100,000 -> Installed RCRN 3.0 -> Used stereo audio instead of my 7.1 Dolby Sourround Logitech headset. I'll enable Distant Detail again, and use my headset. And I'll increase some reduced settings. I'll turn off Anti-Virus (so far always running in the background). If I am still running my test without problems, I'll post my updated inis, nVidia Inspector config, my perfmon results and skyrim performance monitor results. -
Black Circles, z-fighting and texture shimmering
torminater replied to torminater's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Can somebody confirm the whiterun walls z-fighting to be decreased when only upping the uExterior Cell Buffer and keeping the uGridsToLoad at 5? Maybe it's just a placebo, but I thought it got a bit better. -
CPU affinity - two different approaches
torminater replied to Vond's question in General Skyrim LE Support
So, new results with TESV.exe and oh wonder another CtD closing in on whiterun after 5 minutes of gameplay. Core results are about the same but TESV.exe had a maximum cpu usage of 140% (explain that somehow) and an average of 65%. This test had been done with OC'ed graphics card and cpu. maybe that's the reason for the 140%... -

CPU affinity - two different approaches
torminater replied to Vond's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Well I'm running through half Skyrim and there isn't a bit increase in CPU usage. I keep getting permanent freezes entering the outerrims of whiterun using a uGrids value higher than 7. Increasing Exterior cell buffer to 100 didn't help a lot could you tell me your settings? I already increased SGSSAA to 4 and use 4xMSAA instead of 2xSSAA. Any other tweaks you did?
