  1. With yesterday's update covering the CRF patch, are we good to use it, or are its fixes already rolled into the STEP Compilation?
  2. It looks like the main Ruffled Feather mod was updated yesterday to include the SMIM-compatible version of this mod as part of the STEP install option, so I'm guessing this can probably be removed from the guide, yeah?
  3. Will the official release of LOOT 0.7 affect any of the STEP meta rules for sorting? Since 0.7 is supposed to produce different load orders than 0.6, I wonder if any of those can be removed from the guide going forward.
  4. Doesn't ENBoost also have a double cursor patch built in? If that's the case then neither of those mods would be needed.
  5. I just recently re-installed all my mods after formatting my hard drive and started a new game for the 30th time this week, and during the Helgen intro I noticed that Hadvar's legs clip through the skirt of his Imperial armor when he runs. Worse, when he turns (by rotating in place, although that might have been the vanilla behavior too I can't remember) said skirt flattens right through his legs and behind him, until he finishes his turn whereupon it springs back through his legs and looks proper again. This seems only to happen when he turns to his left; turning to his right, I don't think it happens. Picture: https://i.imgur.com/mGsombY.jpg I've checked this against both my customized mod setup and my strict STEP Core setup, and in both cases disabling the Better Turn Animation mod fixed the problem. It might affect other NPCs and armor types, but getting 20+ GB of mods has worn down my patience with Skyrim a bit so I've only run the intro up to that point so far. The strange thing is that I don't recall this happening during previous playthroughs. Ideas as to why this happens? Is it just limited to Hadvar for some reason? And is it even supposed to affect NPCs at all? The description makes it sound like it only changes the player character's anims. I've also confirmed that rotating to the left with a weapon drawn causes my own character's Imperial skirt thing to collapse like that.
  6. That sounds like the same problem I had. It ended up being one of the texture files in HRDLC2 that DDSopt was processing improperly. If that's what it was, it's not a mistake on your part, it's something that needs to be fixed in the batch files.
  7. I can't actually check the file conflicts right now (posting from my laptop) but doesn't the grey lightning bolt in MO mean that mod is completely overwritten by other mods? In which case, none of those files are even seen by Skyrim, right? Having gotten back to my desktop, all three DLC texture sets provide no conflicts and every file is overwritten by something else, almost entirely by the HRDLC2 optimized set.
  8. The optimized DLC goes after the vanilla HR packs then? I've had them set between their ESMs and the unofficial patches. That's how it seemed it should be done in the guide; the detailed directions for the three DLCs said that, anyway, and the HR packs it says to list after UDBP, so I've had this which I assume is wrong. And try as I might, I can't seem to optimize tamriel.objects.dds with any combination of constraints settings (avoiding DXTx entirely) without suffering the same result ingame.
  9. I'm having an issue that looks like it might be a missing texture (imgur album linked below). I run standard STEP, followed the DDSopt guide to the letter, used the batch files, etc. I noticed a big chunk of nothing on the side of a mountain outside of Whiterun. There also appear to be some black textures off in the trees over behind the windmill. After some noodling around in MO I think I found the file causing it: one of the dds files in the HRDLC2 optimized mod. Specifically textures/terrain/tamriel/objects/tamriel.objects.dds, an ~11 MB file that, when hidden in MO, causes the problem to go away. Black means missing textures, right? Does this happen to anyone else, and does it even need to be fixed or can I just keep the file hidden? Images of the landscape with the file hidden/unhidden: https://imgur.com/a/Enw1x Also unrelated to this issue but still related to DDSopt, since MO says the DG/HF/DB optimized textures are completely overwritten, does that mean there's no point in optimizing them to begin with?
  10. I'm guessing having both the entry in the INI and USKP's snippet won't actually do anything bad, but it does seem to be an unnecessary part of the guide now at least.
  11. Oh I really hope this is the right thread for this, but anyway This setting listed in section 1.D.1 [Actor]fVisibleNavmeshMoveDist=12288.0000 ;allows arrows to hit objects as far as the appear to fly.is now shipped in an INI snippet in the USKP (as of v2.0.5). Mod Organizer claims that the snippet will overwrite any duplicate settings, but as USKP is a part of STEP:Core (and the guide stresses the importance of ensuring no duplicate entries) this seems like it should be removed from the guide.
