Skyrim Revisited Pre-Release Feedback
bpr5016 replied to Neovalen's topic in Skyrim Revisited (retired)
This could explain why all the NPCs I saw after installing have the quivers inside their bodies. On my character it looks great though. Also, the weird side sheath problem I was having was fixed by reinstalling immersive animations and running FNIS! -

DDSOpting the big "foundation" textures helped loads for me. Not sure about exact numbers, but I would recommend the lite Skyrim pack as well if your seeing issues -

Just finished the most recent updates (as of 5/7/13), game is running great! I noticed my character sheathes his 1H sword behind his back yet still has a sheath on his hip. He has got a shield on his back too. Is this supposed to be like this or did I mess up some animations installs? As always, thanks for the help and great work! -

Ah yeah, I came to the same conclusion yesterday through google too. Couldnt find a definite fix though, but Ill probably let it go for now unless it becomes a major eye-sore. Only just noticed and they went away as I got closer -

Looks like there's an Immersive Animations Installer now, just check off the recommended options -

Makes perfect sense, thanks. Is the "Skill Interface ReTexture V6 SkyRe Compatibility Patch" worth adding as well? Â Found it while going through some Skyrim Revisited updates and am curious. Edit: Also, there is a Guard Dialogue Overhaul - SkyRe compatibility patch... there's an Immersive Weapons patch for Closer Quivers & Longer Arrows (via installer, says it just installs meshes for Svartbough a.k.a. the An-Xileel War Bow) -

Do we need to install the Heavy Armory Pack for Dual Sheath Redux? Â Heavy Armory is included in SkyRe by default. Â Just wondering, as it is not recommended to do so in your guide. -

I am only running the STEP mods that are recommended in Neovalen's Skyrim Revisited install guide. Perhaps I should post this issue in those sub-forums instead. -

Right it is more of a nuisance issue than a game breaking one. I'll try to search the web and see if there are any obvious mod issues that would cause this. Maybe with CoT? -
Hey guys - I just finished installing Neovalen's Skyrim Revisited guide along with some of the SkyRe features as well (followed Iroha's guide for this one). Â I've been seeing some issues with distant textures, just curious if there's an obvious fix for this. Â I used DDSOpt for the Skyrim HD textures and Vurt's Flora Textures, not sure what could be causing this (may even be .ini settings?). Here's a screenshot of what I've been seeing: Thanks for any advice! PS - here's the imgur link in case the one above doesn't work: https://imgur.com/DcWFNmv

Is the full change-log posted somewhere? The one posted on the guide only goes back to 4/20. Just want to make sure I didn't miss any updates! -

Reinstalling SIC... seems like when I try to install v5.1.1 Mod Organizer isn't extracting the .bsa file.  Under the column "flags" I get a red X that says "no valid game data" when I drag my cursor over it.  When I open up the filetree all I see is the ReadMe file.  This probably explains the invisible creature files and missing texture files I've been seeing (or not seeing).  How do I get this to behave? EDIT: Quote from the S.I.C. Nexus Thread: statmonster Posted 30 April 2013 - 01:43 PM "Up on the top left of MO there are a series of buttons. The right-most button with the wrench and screw driver icon is called something like installers, options or customization. (I don't have MO here and am going by memory.) Click that to open the menu and there are two check boxes. The top one is "Prefer FOMOD Installer." Check that. Then install the mod via MO. It will bring up a somewhat different style (visually) of installer which should work. It's also much faster to load." source AND IT WORKED! (wish I'd known about this sooner - hope I didn't mess any other installs up) -

Maybe starting new game could fix? Wouldn't be too hard to check, alternate start in Whiterun and see if they are still invisible -

Excellent advice, thank you very much. I killed the two invisible giants in question last night, I was able to loot them and everything. I remembered the names (cave and tundra giants) and tried to find them on the SIC site under the listed creatures. They don't seem to be there... Maybe it is left over from SkyMoMod? Just a thought... I will work through the steps you outlined above when I get off work if I have time tonight. Thanks a million Also, I did not disable SkyMoMod before I uninstalled it. Maybe this be causing some of my issues? -

I walked through these steps yesterday afternoon, making sure to wait for 31days in an NPC free interior in between. I am still unfortunately finding invisible creatures. I thought this was limited to wolves at first (saw some visible, some invisible) so I disabled SkyTEST. This worked at first but after some traveling around I encountered some invisible giants: "Cave Giant" & "Tundra Giant". They were just floating clubs lol. Makes me think this might be due to an issue with my dynamic patches (namely Automatic Variants) or maybe my save file is corrupt. I also uninstalled SkyMoMod in an area that had invisible creatures (before I knew better). I jumped to "coc qasmoke" and waited 31 days to clear all the zones; save/quit; load SIC (maybe I didn't reapply TES5Edit fix?); load game & wait 31days in qasmoke test area; coc WhiterunStables... run around and found invisible giants! Edit: I also rebuilt dynamic patches after loading SIC In an unrelated note I can't seem to get my Elys Uncapper custom .ini file to overwrite the default one. I have it listed as a separate mod at the bottom of my load order in MO, looks like it overwrites but in-game I still get default stat/perk progression. As always, thanks for your help and insight gang. -

Thanks! I will try this tonight. I have already uninstalled SkyMoMod but will follow your instructions to the letter and follow up if it fixes the issue -

Okay thanks for the info. I used the integrated FOMOD installer for SIC, and installed the v6.0 update for it as specified by Neo. I will likely retry the uninstall of SkyTEST, uninstall SIC, reinstalled SIC, then reinstall SkyTEST, rebuild patches. Hopefully that will work? -

Hey - keep up the great work. I really enjoy lurking on this forum, lots of good information being passed around! I've been experiencing a problem lately that I can't seem to fix. I'm getting invisible wolves attacking me in the wild (along with some completely visible wolves). I did a quick search online and found the culprit is presumably SkyTEST. I followed Iroha's SkyRe guide when SkyMoMod was still recommended, but recently updated to Skyrim Immersive Creatures as per Neovalen's update to Skyrim Revisited. I'm thinking this switch may be what's causing the occasional invisible wolf for me. I've tried to run the uninstall process posted on the SkyTEST nexus site and reloading my save, but have not had much success. Using MO, I left SkyTEST v1.3 installed; overwrote the .esp with the "uninstall" .esp of the same name; ran SKSE in MO and saved a game, quit; reloaded SkyTEST v1.3 and rebuilt the dynamic patches; ran SKSE in MO and typed "coc qasmoke" in game... waited 31days for cells to reload; "coc WhiterunStables" and ran around the wilds... still finding invisible wolves! How did I do? Thanks for any help! -

Looks awesome! Really great job. For the note: If installed SkyRe_EnemyAI module Find in masterlist IFNOT REGEX("ASIS(-Dependency)?\.esp") MOD: SkyRe_EnemyAI.esp, Right Click on it, Create Override In the text box adjacent to "AFTER" type " SkyRe_EncounterZones.esp " and click [save Rule]. I found it helpful to use BUM's search function rather than scrolling through the whole masterlist. Was scrolling for 15min before I realized there was a search function haha. -

Are you... serious?! I thought it was a patch to remove an invisible helmet glitch not make it intentional! I spent like 4 hours trying to hunt down this problem. I was trying to get the helmets to appear. Can't wait to test it out tomorrow! -

Thanks for the advice on ABT, fixed my bolt penetration problems! Now I'm having a problem getting qotsafan's IA6 invisible helmet fix to work (optional for your guide).  Found this explanation on the mod forum: Please correct me if I'm wrong, but if this fix does work then the revised BUM load order would be... Select qotsafan's IA6 invisible helmets patch.esp In the text box adjacent to "AFTER" type " ReProccer.esp " and click [save Rule]. Select qotsafan's Ars Metallica Patch.esp In the text box adjacent to "AFTER" type " qotsafan's IA6 invisible helmets patch " and click [save Rule]. Select qotsafan's WIC-CraftOnly ReProccer Patch.esp In the text box adjacent to "AFTER" type " qotsafan's Ars Metallica Patch.esp " and click [save Rule]. etc... I don't know why this would work but I'm going to try it out now. EDIT: Rearranging didn't work for me, still have invisible helmets -

Speaking of arrows (and bolts). Are the effects of "arrows and bolts tweaks" really carried over by SkyRe? I disabled ABT following the guide and my I have no deep bolt penetration when shooting trees and doors etc. Also, can't you edit some .ini file and make bows hurt less if it is unrealistic? -
Ah okay, makes sense. I have 9gb of ram actually. What's DDR3? I built my PC back in 2010 so I'm not sure what that gives me. Maybe I'll see how it plays if I return normals to 1024x1024 and reduced my shadows
-
Hmm I see, so if I keep all the .dds files at 1024x1024 (including normals) I should have the same performance? I am using a gtx470 GPU which is a bit older, so I was concerned with running high resolution textures
