  1. https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/67329/? There are some invalid values in explosionshockmass01.nif for the lightning storm spell which sometimes cause the projectile and some custom armor to disappear. I have no idea how to correct those values so I just deleted the buggy node(lightRays) with nifscope and problem solved.

  8. Discussion thread: Proper Torch Wield - Hold your torch away from your face by skyrimaguas Wiki Link Do you find it annoying that the torch is always on your face in first person view making it very difficult to see especially during combat? The bright fire on the screen has been a big distraction from me and for that reason I find torches very impractical to use. I created this mod with the aim of fixing this issue by improving the torch mesh allowing it to be held farther away from the face. This mod is a simple mesh replacer and does not contain textures so you can use it with your favorite torch retexture. Features: ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ - Now, you don't see the torch flame in first person view! no more distraction - Tweaked Vanilla torch mesh - grip position moved lower and torch made slightly longer - Torch is now held farther away from the character's face in both first person and third person view for improved visibility - Works on NPCs as well - does not modifify the torch lighting values - Proper Torch Wield positions the torch to be held slightly turned outward on the side because in real life torches are not supposed to be held near your face straight up because it is hot and embers that spark off the burning material can hurt you. Aside from the practical benefits to visibility, Proper Torch Weild also makes torch wielding more realistic. Compatibility: ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ - Basically compatible with ALL mods because it is a mesh replacer - no esp, no scripts - This mod is compatible with all lighting mods, just make sure you overwrite their torch meshes (e.g. ELFX, SMIM, etc.) - Will not work with mods that change the torch mesh or add effects based on the mesh Recommended for use with: Hold Your Torch Higher - this mod changes the 3rd person animation only Installation: ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Extract the archive contents into your Skyrim data folder, overwrite the files when prompted. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Images:
  9. Glad, you brought these a across I thought TESV.exe loads all resources through a list rather or not it was being replaced causing a longer load time.
  10. So if I used SMC , the mods under my SMC package would just be like updates???
  11. So does Skyrim still load the the .bsa even tho it's redundant? (I'm not talking about my mod.)
  12. Here is the best way to explain. "I originally believed that I had replaced all the textures and when I played with this mod installed I saw a few "purple" objects indicating that some had never been replaced. So I simply used BSA unpacker to unpack the original "vanilla" bsa, and copied and pasted it over my installed game textures folder. When it asked to replace textures, I just asked it to "skip" all textures that might be overwritten (by vanilla) and was thus able to obtain the missing (unreplaced) textures even though I wasn't quite sure which ones they were. I would suggest that anyone using this tactic do so very carefully and only after making a backup because you could easily lose all your texture replacements. However, this procedure worked pretty well for me so I thought I would post it in case you are not sure whether you have by now replaced all the original Bethesda textures or not. Worked like a charm!" - Restutitor Orbis
  13. Never knew that.. lol , Well you can tell admin to delete my post? Sorry I apologize i just thought it was a good idea.
  14. Some people like it but alas. No, you don't have to re download you just move your orginial skyrim - textures out of the data folder. It's not a waste if people have downloaded and endorsed it :).
  15. https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/54970/? I use these blank Skyrim - Textures.bsa 0 bytes , To save me load time , because , I have ALL the textures replaced.
  16. https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/54805/? " Looks like a good addtion - I used the search function for dupe post. WiilliamImm: It is best not to copy anything from the description of the mod when making these posts. Put into your own words.
  17. https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/54546/? Adds new grape textures
  18. "New realistic Skystars Texture for Skyrim. Resolution: 2klooks perfect with HQ Milky way galaxy and Skygazer Moons." https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/54515/? Looks cosmetic.
  19. This mod fixes the bug where dead dragon corpses follow you around or fall out of the sky, affectionately known as "dragon stalking". What causes dragon stalking? Well, you see... when a young male dragon likes a young female dragon, but he's not sure how to approach the female dragon, he might lurk around any locations he knows the female frequents, inevitably causing awkward and embarassing encounters with the female... From her point of view, it starts out sort of cute. Simply an odd, haphazard, fluke! What a weird boy dragon just popping out of nowhere, twitching all around, not able to contain his excitement. Maybe he would make a nice friend who would do stuff for me since he likes me, she thinks to herself. Just look how trusting he is exposing his underside like a silly puppy dog! The two part ways and the female dragon heads off to the Whiterun markets, when what do ya know? There he is again! And how sweet, he's bought her some tomatoes. What a thoughtful friend this boy dragon is. But wait... how did he get there so fast? Was he... following her? But she dwells on it not and so our female dragon moves right along. Next stop is Dragonsreach, which is of course, the only fitting place for a dragon to be in Whiterun. Detesting outspoken impudence, she promptly ingests Heimskr and Nazeem for bastardizing the spoken word, which she finds to be insulting, even when done in a language far inferior to her own. Appetite sated, she proceeds onward. As she climbs the steps to Dragonsreach, there he is yet again! But... oh... oh my. We're talking full-on George Takei OH MY here, ladies and gentlemen. Our poor male dragon seems to have himself in a bit of a snare... tsk, tsk, tsk, boys really will stick that thing anywhere won't they? How embarassing... What? Oh, right, the bug... well I don't know exactly what causes that. Some problem with the game engine not doing proper housekeeping on dragon corpses, which seems to be exacerbated by issues introduced by the Havok physics suite, causing exponential amounts of derp on heavily articulated objects, such as dragons. In any case and for whatever reason, when the game tries to reload a dragon corpse that was previously unloaded, it may fail to do so correctly and ends up dropping the corpse in a default location as a fail-safe, which is usually somewhere near the player. The corpse then proceeds to reload in whatever default location it can find as the player moves from cell to cell. So how did you fix it? I took the base script for dragons in the game, DragonActorScript, and I implemented the OnLoad and OnUnload events in the deadDisintegrated state, which is the state dragons go to after their soul is absorbed and they've turned to bones. As soon as the dragon is unloaded from the game in this state, it gets dispelled of any active magic effects and then deleted. The same is done if the dragon is reloaded in the deadDisintegrated state. This will delete any dragon corpses which are currently stalking the player on existing save games. Does it work on an existing save game? Yes, I just said that. Does it work with Dragon Combat Overhaul and Deadly Dragons? Yes, of course. Does it incorporate fixes from the Unofficial Patches? You betcha. Is there a catch? Are you a wizard? Not really and that's none of your business. Just be sure to loot anything you want from the corpse before you leave the area because the new script will aggressively delete the corpse the moment it unloads. Will the fix cause issues? It shouldn't. This mod simply forces the game to cleanup dragon corpses quickly, rather than relying on the existing framework to do it because we've found that doesn't always work. If the choice is between dragon stalking and aggressive dragon deletion, I choose the latter, at least until a better solution presents itself. How extensively did you test it? Pretty extensively. Most of the time I spent on this mod was doing testing. I tested it on named dragons like Mirmulnir and Sahloknir in a normal play-through of the game with no problems. I tested it on dragons at word walls, by killing them once and then waiting for them to respawn after 30 days and got souls each time. I tested it on dragons spawned randomly in the game and through the console and had no issues and no stalking. I tested it on existing saves where dragon stalking was occurring to verify that the fix works retroactively and cleans up any dragon corpses which are currently stalking you on existing saves. This was all done on a 100+ mod load order, including Deadly Dragons and Dragon Combat Overhaul and NPC Knockout Overhaul, which is my other mod you should go check out, by the way. :D Can this be added to the USKP? Yes, I give full permission for this fix to be incorporated into any mod, especially the USKP. What should I do now? Check out this mod: NPC Knockout Overhaul. 20. I've always felt the white phial was a bit... lackluster. You go to a lot of trouble obtaining (and subsequently repairing it), but not only is the reward pretty unimpressive gameplay-wise, it's also really ugly. I mean, that tiled, off-white texture will just not do. And the way Nurelion patches it up should be considered a crime! There are plenty of mods out there that improve the phial's effects, so this mod adresses the visual aspect of Curalmil's creation. It replaces the White Phial with a lore-friendly, highly detailed and ornate mesh that does better justice to an ancient artifact of legend. This replacer features a brand new, unique shape for both the broken and repaired bottles. As I was brainstorming ideas Madcat211 pointed out that Curalmil is an elven name, not nordic, so even though he is entombed in a draugr crypt he may actually be of Snow Elf origin. My take on the White Phial is strongly inspired by the ancient falmer designs and incorporates (heavily modified) elements of Auriel's bow & shield. Legend has it that the White Phial contains the essence of the first snow ever to fall on the Throat of the World. The vanilla object doesn't really give any visual indication of this fact, but I decided to expand on that theme. There is frost creeping up on the handle, ice gathering in the corners and the bottle glitters as if it was made from snow. The new White Phial is very bright, to the point where it almost seems to glow in direct sunlight. That is just how bloom works in Skyrim, there's not much I can change about that without making the bottle look dull and grey in less extreme lighting. I rather like the effect myself, it makes the phial look very pristine and pure. All my screens are taken with Serenity ENB unless otherwise noted. I can very much recommend it for this replacer in particular, it's bloom and subsurface scattering goes a long way to softening the harsh lighting on the phial and making it look almost translucent. Many thanks to hodilton for this lovely video: Installation Requires Dawnguard DLC or it WILL crash your game! The textures are fully compressed and come in two versions, 1024 and 512. Not all textures are available in full 1k resolution, as some parts of the mesh simply do not warrant that amount of detail (e.g. the inside of the bottle). Choose one of the main files, then install with NMM or extract manually to your Skyrim/Data folder. Make sure you activate WhitePhialReplacer.esp in your load order. There is no danger to your savegames - just plug & play. Compatibility This replacer should be compatible with anything else out there, even though there is an .esp-file included. The plugin is actually a dummy file and completely blank, it's only purpose is to make Skyrim recognize the .bsa-archive and crash your game if you try to load it without Dawnguard DLC (legal issues). In particular it's fully compatible with mods that alter the phial's stats. Future Plans I'm looking for a way to further improve the bottle's sparkle to make it look more like snow, maybe using subsurface parallax. I'm also trying to figure out how animated effects work in Skyrim, so I can put a swirling effect on the bottle to make it look more magical. I may release an even lower-res 256 texture pack if there is enough interest. Beyond that, I'm always open for suggestions! Drop by the comment section and say hi.
