  1. Perhaps there is some hope in the near future. Boris Vorontsov recently took position on this issue : We'll soon see some results I guess.. EDIT: Soon was bloody fast ! :) Here is the changelog of his experiments. (check ENB forums)
  2. Thing is STEP is all about enhancing vanilla with a welcomed margin in the interpretation. But still without crossing the red line of total divergence like these lanterns. The goal is not to reinvent the game, but to fix it where possible.
  3. Voting for vanilla lanterns, definitely. And a walkthrough to not install SMIM lanterns to the base game. Compared to Morrowind modding, people have so much difficulties to make good models that integrate well TES lore these days. It began with Oblivion, a bit sad and surprising. Perhaps its the realism shift taken by the series that inspires modders differently, idk.
  4. You're not that strange, you know :). It looks like these Nordic Lanterns are coming from an Ikea store of the 21st century. Very well made ideed in a post industrial era.Now I find Brumbek's lanterns alien and grotesque looking in the harsh world of skyrim. Why reinvent the wheel ? Why not making them an optional download with the vanilla model redone as a base ? A strange design decision..
  5. That was the link we were talking about above ;-)Oops! I didn't follow the conversation. :)
  6. Sorry to hijack this thread guys, but zzjay has made new HD teeth textures in this simple mod: Smile in HD. Perhaps it can be considered as an interesting ressource-friendly alternative ? What do you think ? :) p.s.: at the same time it helps reducing the Colgate (pure white) or Meridol (yellow) effects nicely.
  7. Yeah, I'm waiting for his next update for ENB 0.157 and the results of his tests with COT 3 & RLO 4.07. He has RL priorities for the moment, so I'm anticipating his return to see what kind of consistent atmosphere he'll be able to create with these two big mods. :)
  8. COT with RLO are no brainers for starters in the (small) jungle of lighting & weather mods. A bit of a relief I must say  Concerning ENBs presets. Well its a bit of a headache. 90% of them are unusable imo. But I found one or two that gives you a feel of realism compatible with the Skyrim world. For now, the very best I have found is Phinix Natural ENB. Its up to date (well v.0.155), actively supported, modular, completely lore friendly (which is rare), has bloom deactivated by default (yay!), designed with COT and RLO in mind, and comes with detailed step by step explanations on how to install/configure it properly. Best ENB preset so far.
  9. Just a comment on weapons/armors mods in general. There is obviously a massive amount of them on the Nexus, but only very few are well made. JaySuS Swords is a great reference, no doubt. Wot3E is nicely done (also integrated in Skyre). I would add Private's Eye Heavy Armory (also integrated in Skyre), Lost LongSwords, perhaps Ghosus Weapon Pack, Unique Uniques by the very skilled Insanity Sorrow, and thats all for good. Immersive Weapons adds more than 100 weapons and variants. Looks like bloatware to my eyes (in comparison with the excellent Immersive Armors) with unequal quality on the whole. Edit: typos P.S: Unique Bows Collection is breathtaking but thats another thing. :) Just my two cents obviously. Anyway, thank you again for your amazing work Neo. I would by lost in the jungle without your guide.
  10. Of course. I need to go through all the weapons and make left handed versions... could take awhile. Err.. please don't do this :D
  11. @Neovalen Distant Decal Fix seems to be no longer needed according to Arthmoor. He has just opened a thread that references all mods made obsolete by unofficial patches.
  12. @ Toshaka You would say Realistic Lighting Overhaul. ;) Great mod ! Thank you.
  13. Yeah the golden shrines look completely out of place. Then I must admit Shrines HD does not look that much essential comparing to vanilla. In general I tend to stick with vanilla textures until a big jump in quality is done by any mod.
  14. Aw.. terrible retextures ! Oversaturated, blurry, no details. Not for me. Sometimes sticking with vanilla is not a bad thing..
  15. Hi Neo, Another little addition to the sounds overhaul with Improve Horse Step Sounds on different surfaces. Did you try it ?
  16. Ars Metallica - Smithing Enhancement was updated to v1.2
  17. Slave Pack Riekling Porter is an amazing simple "companion" mod (it uses the dog's slot) staring Wak Wak as a bagpack transporter. Voice acting is pretty much amazing making the character irresistibly funny and adorable. Requires Dragonborn
  18. Look at this quality ! It almost looks like my own beard :). All your vanilla retextures are a true inspiration. They reveal your usual attention to details, stay in line with Bethesda's artistic direction and show a very high (and rare) quality of execution. Yea I just love your work. Keep them up coming !
  19. I just love these little immersion mods and their attention to details. Downloading :)
  20. Discussion thread: Shrines HD by Mystery Modder Wiki Link Mystery Modders Shrines HD is an interesting alternative to Psychosteve's Golden God's Shrines. It stays true to vanilla minus some well thought recolorings and subtle additions.
  21. TPC was updated to 1.92 with WATER 1.6 support and an optional SFO .esp :)
  22. @Neovalen Svarog just uploaded a new mod called UNP Texture Blender HERE at Nexus. Lots of options..
  23. @ techangel85 Now these shots are looking great ! A perfect combination. Just a question about Skyrealism. Do you use smaa with this ENB ? The textures look a bit blurry.
  24. OP updated
  25. @Kelmych You should rework your OP to reflect the mod's state as of today. (Its made by Cestral not Mortac, etc..) TPC was updated to version 1.82:
