GUIDE Fear and Loathing in New Vegas - Feedback
OrdinaryM replied to EssArrBee's topic in Fear & Loathing in New Vegas
If you're adding afterschool special then you should look into his other mod the new bison Steve. pretty much the same thing except you're fixing up the bison Steve in primm but with a little more action. Its of the same quality as afterschool special. However it does run a script in the background that puts funds earned by the casino in a safe every once in awhile. So I'm not sure about that one. -

Yeah the engine is certainly lacking. Really would love a new engine for future beth games not just a modified one. Which we might due to the next gen consoles. Without the engine limitations there are now modding could only go up from here. -

I don't think this will ever make it into the pack aside from the 10 gigs you need to EARN a membership to get the download? What? -
I hardly like buying ubi games on PC as it is. Especially not one from uplay directly. Can't stand 3rd party DRM. If only all games could be made with the DRM The Witcher has. None. At least for the previous ones. I don't think 3 has it either unless you buy it off steam.

I've actually been curious about this. What is the actual process of testing mods like that? (Not quest mods) Would it just be testing what that mod does in different scenarios or is it playing the game for awhile with that mod installed. -
I wouldn't say stuck but it just won't be as easy. you have to learn conflict resolution. luckily at the end of the guide there's a whole sub guide dedicated to it along with a video.

Step is a improved Vanilla Game. SR:LE is an all out modding guide for an improved skyrim I believe. SR:LE adds a lot more but hard to build off of. Step is easy to build off of. This is what I've picked up from being on the forums for awhile. SR:LE will most likely look better than STEP.

I've bookmarked a few other quest mods I've came across. I still have to check them out. One of them pretty large. I'll look into them and probably post them here. -

Finished it earlier. Been running it flawlessly for about an hour. Added a couple quest mods. Afterschool special is actually really great. A good change from the usual run and gun. -

Not the case in my game. The colors are vibrant. I also have Nevada skies. he might have had an install issue. Its not over saturated like other enb's. High saturation doesn't fit in with the fallout world in my opinion. A little dark is good. -

Not sure if you're looking for any recommended ENB's but the guy who created the vividian ENB for Skyrim just uploaded the FNV successor. Looks great. https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/56121 -

Well I got it all working but just gonna go ahead and say this the new beta has numerous issues with Windows 8. Permission issues on every exe. I had to mix and match versions to get everything working. -

That's what I've been doing running it through MO. I'm going to try a fresh install of everything tomorrow morning. If I keep getting the issue then I might just use MO 1.1.1 like the guide recommends and use the "force-enable game files" workaround that I just realized existed today. I'm off for the night and I suppose you need a break from me and my constant problems . -

Yes it does get detected however I also noticed something, unified HUD install doesn't detect everything and when I try to manually check it during the install it ignores it. Should I just do a fresh install of the ui? https://puu.sh/9sLxJ/32f04f9f90.png -

No luck. Edited both fallout.ini and falloutprefs.ini. When I hide the main menu hud file in unified hud it loads the HP and AP and all that correctly (smaller) but it also breaks everything. -

Well I didn't feel like getting too off topic on the other forum so i came here. I've ran into an issue with the UI, Unified HUD is upscaling the main UI back to the huge vanilla sizes. Anything to do other than a whole new install of the UI section? -
I believe I used archive but I'm not 100% sure. I usually try to use archives.

Got it thanks again EAB. The only issue I ran into was with the handler, it wasn't taking the nxm link so I just replaced the handler with a previous version. (You can't even open nxmhandler.exe with the new beta) You get some weird permission error. I should probably put this in for the bug tracker.

Not sure which thread it is all I could find was the 1.2.x thread which didn't have much. If you know what it is and don't mind writing me a tl;dr on it that would be great. Do you think it will affect my installation of the guide at all? EDIT: well from what I found out is that BSA priority is now a thing? Can't I just not have MO manage BSA's and replicate previous versions of MO BSA handling?

1.1.1, 1.1.2, 1.2.1,1.2.2. I believe that's them. I didn't try 1.2.3 I skipped straight to 1.2.4.

Well that worked. That actually worked. I'm not sure why that worked but it did. It was no UAC issue or read only file issue I just needed to update the damn program. Well I can't thankyou enough EAB because I probably would have given up. I would definitely mention this somewhere at the bottom of the guide because it seems like this issue has plagued more than one. Unfortunately we figured this out during exams for me. I'll probably start the guide process later tonight after studying. Once the guides completed and getting everything set up I'll be more than welcome to help you with anything such as testing or ini tweaks (Because that part of the guide still needs to get going). Just glad this curse is gone too bad it didn't happen before the hours of scouring forums Thanks again - oM

I still have had no help here except from EAB. Would really appreciate some help with someone over at MO because this is their official support forum. I feel like I am being ignored since it doesn't involve Skyrim in anyway.
