  1. Hi, In my experience both DoS and JK's significantly impact performance, but it is the latter which hits my framerate harder, especially in Whiterun were I sometimes drop as low as 20 fps near Skyforge (that's on a full SRLE + REGS install with Kountervibe Quality, but disabling ENB doesn't help that much...). I removed all flora from JK's Whiterun with TES5Edit but it did nothing. Currently I use Dawn of Skyrim Collection minus Dawn of Riften since I bumped into various issues with REGS and it performs better on my side - note that I now cap my framerate at 30 with nvidia's Half Refresh rate Adaptative Vsync and ifpsclamp as I value smoothness and stability over "high" framerate. SKY City (Markarth), SNOW city (Windhelm) and TRUE City (Solitude) are also great city overhauls that truly expand upon vanilla cities without destroying my fps, but they lack polish in places and may conflict with some REGS mods. I wish JK released a performance version of his mod but don't think he plans to do so. Dawn of Skyrim is a great alternative though, perhap's a little more optimized, and it seems the author is still working on the mod. CJ, any chance REGS add back DoS compatibility and let us choose between the two ? For unless you consider JK superior in other areas, I doesn't seem so performance wise. (Fyi, my rig : I7 4790K @ 4.4, GTX 980 Strix, 16 GB, SSDs)
  2. Be my guest if you come to Paris :)
  3. Oh boy, I'm Feeling idiotic now^^
  4. Like I wrote on another thread, I encounter the same problem than Monobloc during brawls, haven't been able to fix it so far.
  5. I hope everything's fine for you.
  6. Thanks. I suppose you're talking about ErshinPL's suggestion here ? https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/24020/?tab=4&&navtag=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.nexusmods.com%2Fskyrim%2Fajax%2Fcomments%2F%3Fmod_id%3D24020%26page%3D1%26sort%3DDESC%26pid%3D0%26thread_id%3D781100&pUp=1 Unfortunately that doesn't work for me. At least that would narrow the list of potential culprits to the mods included in SRLE. If you noted those bugs a few weeks ago and didn't see it since, perhap's I'm not up to date (unless you use that BB Cheat yourself, but your guide would probably reflect it in that case), will check if I missed anything. Quoting ErshinPL : "I guess some of the issues might have been caused by a mod that adds health or stamina regen in some way that the brawl didn't like, and also by NPCs having cloak spells or whatever that affect you." (Does any of SRLE's mods do that ?)
  7. I'm running a full SRLE + REGS install with Dovahkiin Reborn, most of Skyrim Gameplay Rebalance and a few others. I followed each guide up to the letter, did a lot of testing and everything looked fine until I ran into a brawl. Starting as a thief with Live Another Life, I tried several times to brawl Bersi Honey Hand in the Pawned Prawn (quest : Taking care of business). But no matter which combination of Brawl Bug plugin / Enhanced Blood Textures I use, the brawl either turns into a real fight involving this NPC and his wife or stops for no reason before any of us gets serious damage, basically resetting the dialogue options. The Brawl which takes place between two Companions the first time you enter Jorrovaskr is also buggy, the antagonists staying on guard for a few seconds without moving nor looking at the right direction before the fight actually begins after a 3-4 second freeze. I have a beefy rig and reasonably low script lag, never noticed such problems with only SRLE + REGS. Any hint ? To what extent does something like TTRSO affect unarmed combat aside boosting damage ? Sorry if it's not the right thread, but I tend to think these problems were introduced by a mod from Dovahkiin Reborn or Skyrim Gameplay Rebalance since they never shown up before. I'll gladly take any idea :)
  8. Thanks, I currently have both installed (not sure wether I should use PZ default or balanced version though).
  9. "I'd like to create a unified balance and compatibility patch for these mods as well as OBIS and SIC, but that's quite the task and I'd rather wait until SIC v7 drops before really tackling the issue so I don't have to start from scratch if/when it finally comes out." That sir would be great. I'm currently holding back until I achieve a proper balance. Sticking to OBIS, SIC, HLE+SIC, Immersive Patrols (any chance this one conflicts with your mod ?) following SRLE plus CE, AT and Deadly / Ultimate Combat for now, but throwing RotE a/o PermaZones into the mix would be great. I'll continue stalking this thread.
  10. I second this, thanks for your efforts dreadflopp !
  11. I was currently reading this mod page, nice suggestion. Thanks everyone.
  12. Thanks Harpalus, On the contrary, I couldn't have hoped for a better answer. I think I'll follow your advice, skip RotE and try Combat Evolved. Any thought about Erso's Enhanced AI or Animal Tweaks ? The latter may compliment well Combat Evolved, if not redundant with SIC. Regarding combat mods, Duke Patrick's seems interesting indeed but I can't use it for the reason you mentioned, will have to choose between UC and DE. Tough dilemma... Thanks again.
  13. Hello everyone, hello dreadflopp, I understand this guide doesn't fully support SRLE the way REGS attempts to, but does anyone use Revenge of the ennemies along with OBIS (included by the former) ? I'd like to go with both of them, unfortunately they do conflict and it seems that problem can't be adressed by just fixing load order. See for reference the conversation between Asyrin and Jebbalon on the first page of OBIS' comments (as we speak): https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/31264/?tab=4&&navtag=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.nexusmods.com%2Fskyrim%2Fajax%2Fcomments%2F%3Fmod_id%3D31264%26page%3D1%26sort%3DDESC%26pid%3D0%26thread_id%3D909993&pUp=1 Which road should I take here, considering my TES5Edit "skills" are quite limited ? On a side note, is it too soon to include Ultimate Combat in my playthrough since you're still tweaking it ? Thanks a lot for your guide anyway, I think I'll use most of it for my last (?) playthrough.
  14. Thanks for your replies. Yes, DoS of course impacts FPS but still less than JK's on my system. Go figure ! Darkside ,could you please tell me which type of entries I should delete to remove that hidden clutter from the esp ? I guess I'm not the only one struggling this otherwise beautiful mod. On a side note - sorry if this has already been discussed - why exactly was Skyrim Sewers thrown off ? Changelog mentions "compatibility issues", did it conflict with one mod in particular ? Just wandering, since it was a nice addition. "Hear your pain, that's why on my next playthrough I'm going to use a Sweetfx instead of an enb. From reading widely, it seems an enb, even so called performance ones, combined with JK's, results in a huge FPS loss." Yeah, I considered that option but even if performance matters I'm way too addict to ENB to let it go... However, I don't want to go below 30 fps.
  15. If you focus on gameplay I would suggest a combination of Dovahkiin Reborn, Skyrim Gameplay Rebalance, Survival and Deleveled Loot. You can also throw Explorer's Guide (REGS) in the mix provided you skip You Hunger (Survival Pack) and Deleveled Loot - or ignore the new quests and locations from REGS,which I personally wouldn't.
  16. Thanks a lot for your rigor and dedication Neovalen, I too learned quite a few tricks from SR and SRLE which I always use as a base when planning à new playthrough. Once my Skyrim was plagued with CTDs and other game breaking bugs, nowadays those are very rare and generally caused by obvious mistakes on my side. Your instructions helped a lot in this long quest for stability :)
  17. Hi, I'm in the process of reinstalling Skyrim using SRLE and REGS as a base. I'm thinking of dropping JK's Skyrim since it destroys my fps in several areas such as the Skyforge in Whiterun, despite running on a 4790K @ 5 GHz + 980 OC. I tried to remove ivy then all flora added by the esp with TES5Edit following someone's advice on the mod page, but that didn't really help. Dipping from about 40 fps (with a demanding ENB) down to 22-25 in an heartbeat is brutal and only happens with JK's mod - not even into the forest now that I stick to SFO and stay away from additional grass mods. So, I'll either ignore major cities overhauls or switch back to Dawn of Skyrim which performs better on my side. Here's my question: can I still use the replacer you provided some time ago to ensure compatibility with Cutting Room Floor and Interesting NPCs - Dawnofriften.esp, I think - or is it out of date/incompatible with the current guide ? If it isn't, can I just load it after DawnofSkyrim.esp (now all-in-one), CRF and 3D PC ? Will it work with Better Entrances - REGS Version ? Thanks a lot !
  18. Hello Neovalen, hello everyone. Â I am sorry if the question has already been asked elsewhere - it must have been in all likelyhood, but I didn't find any answer on the forum so far. Do you think you will finalize SR LE Â before the end of the year, or even sooner ? The reason why I allow myself to ask you this annoying question is that I probably won't be able to play any computer game for a long time after the end of this year for health reasons, and I would love to give Skyrim a last run with this brilliant guide once it's done. I had a great time playing Skyrim Revisited despite memory related CTDs and GPU limitations, now those are history but I'm running out of time and would like to know if there is any chance for this guide to be finalized within the end of 2014. Â Â Anyway, thank you very much for your dedication, your choices and philosophy suit me perfectly. (Also don't pay attention to my English, I'm French). Congratulations and keep up the good work !
